Last Week July 2007

Your weekend (July 28th)may have been a bit awkward, as perhaps you ran out of cash or your credit was refused. So Monday add a run to the bank to your errands. The weekend also kicked off a six-week period of clarifying your Values. Not only how much you value a dollar, but people values, personal values, your own self-worth. That pet project that’s been on the back burner can come to the fore, as you finally decide to do the things that are meaningful to YOU, and are the real reason you were born, after all.

Aries – March 20-April 19 – Buddy Ebsen – You hit your stride Thursday and feel more like your energetic self. Saturday the 4th is a blur of activity and meetings, but you like it that way. The morn gets off to a better start if you belly up to the barre, so to speak, to focus yourself.

Taurus – April 20-May 20 – Martha Graham – Your child may insist she’ll die if she can’t be a dancer – fine, take her to a class where she can try a day or week.. Will the lure of the stage survive sore feet and legs? It may not, but that’s OK, at least she’ll gain an appreciation for the work that goes into making it look effortless. The week improves steadily as you get back in sync with coworkers and the world in general. Have that Friday bull session with Cancer, then put your feet up.

Gemini – May 21-June 20 – Isadora Duncan – Journaling is often a useful tool, especially for Gemini, and especially as August begins. Record those random “what if” thoughts and goofy imaginings, as you might actually bring them to fruition. You and Sag should both have blogs going, even if only for yourself.

Cancer – June 21-July 22 – Gower Champion – The first days of August, your mind is sharper than a Ginsu knife; thoughts wander thru your head that might actually be brilliant, if you can only jot them down in your PDA before they disappear. Friday morn you and Taurus have a good productive meeting, and agree on a course of action.

Leo – July 23-Aug. 22 – Leonide Massine – Tuesday you may feel so impartial and distant someone may accuse you of being cold – nothing could be further from the truth, of course. This weekend you find it easier to organize your thoughts on paper, or by bouncing them off a friend. Use the fortnight to write, edit and polish your ideas and projects.

Virgo – Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Gene Kelly – July 31 is rough on a lot of people, and may affect those in your home rather than you personally. You can’t help but be affected, but try not to burn supper or lose your inner balance. You in particular this summer, may feel ready to reinvent yourself – again. Define your inner calling, and clarify your gift to the world.

Libra – Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Ben Vereen – Sunday’s full moon pulls everyone to your pool party and cookout for R&R. You know how to pull everything together with creative touches and how to introduce the right people to each other. Even your impromptu get-togethers are the best. Your agenda may be a bit thin later in the week, but it’s OK. You need to fill up this summer with as much sunning, swimming and tennis playing as you can, because September’s around the bend.

Scorpio – Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Eleanor Powell – Make sure to do warm-ups before lifting anything or doing drills early in the week. You do know better, don’t you? Nothing takes the edge off your form like re-injuring an old wound. Make a resolution for the new month to leash your moods, and try new tactics. Like, if they don’t call, assume they lost your number and pick up the speed dial.

Sagittarius – Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – Hermes Pan – The early part of the week gives you a chance to reflect and read. Make some entries in a journal, or start a blog to yourself. Opportunity knocks mid-week if you’re understudying. Breaks come to those who are prepared.

Capricorn – Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – George Balanchine – We’re appointing you safety officer this week, Cappy. Round up Aries to give you a hand as spotter, and to wipe down any wet spots on the dance floor. Mid-week finds you in a creative mood, and it’s probably more involved than shaping a hedge or shrubbery. Break out the graph paper and fresh pencils.

Aquarius – Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Ruth St. Denis – Monday you really feel the power and meaning of dance, where you normally stand back and observe. Even if you are not involved on the stage, you may find yourself really enjoying a dance or show tonight. Tuesday take care to warm-up before your drills. Mid-week you have an aha! moment as you find something so terrific on the internet, it seems so right for you.

Pisces – Feb. 18-March 19 – Tommy Tune – Make up a little song about your next goal, and sing it into reality. Just like a shaman sings a sick person back to health, you can be your own shaman and find your own healing song. The middle of the week is all you, even with the little bumps and struggles, but Thursday your efforts start to jell. Keep everyone on point in your own gentle but firm way.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
