Moon Takes 100 Hits from Meteoroids
And you thought you were having a rough time? “Every year in early January, the Earth-Moon system passes through a stream of debris … producing the well-known Quadrantid meteor shower. Altho certain times of the year are known for producing certain meteor showers, there was no time when the frequency dialed down to zero. This was a sobering discovery for the folks at NASA who hope to schedule another Moon mission. “Secondary particles smaller than a millimeter could pierce a spacesuit,” notes NASA’s Bill Cooke. http://www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2008/05/year-of-living.html

MIT Working on 3-D “Super RoadMap” to the Solar System
“Think of it as a GoogleMaps to the Solar System: a 3-D “super roadmaps” of other planets and moons that will provide robots, astronauts and engineers with the details about atmospheric composition, biohazards, wind speed and temperature -information that could help land future spacecraft and more effectively navigate roving cameras across a Martian or lunar terrain. Manned and robotic missions navigating on other bodies in our solar system will have the ability to find landmarks and destinations.”

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
