Your Milky Way Horoscope Sept. 21-27, 2008

Happy Birthday to Librans!!!

Mars trines Neptune Sunday evening — ideal for a night on the town dancing. This is especially true for the air signs Libra and Aquarius. BTW Libra produced a fair number of famous dancers: Ben Vereen, Fayard Nicholas (of the spectacular Nicholas brothers), Arthur Duncan, Juliet Prowse, Michael Smuin. And one of the most beautiful Libras, Rita Hayworth, played the Muse of Dance herself, Terpsichore, in a film. Aquarius has produced a smaller but select company of dancers, too — Ruth St. Denis, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Gregory Hines.

Mercury goes retrograde in Libra early Wednesday for a three-week vacation. Librans with natal planets at 22 and 7 degrees of the sign will feel the effects more than others. Mercury retrograde can cause a lot of missed or garbled messages, transit delays, and assorted errors. However, I have found that it can also be very useful for catching up on routine, finding out things that have been hidden or not mentioned, and revisiting old favorite books or movies.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop.

ARIES

March 20-April 19 – The Moon in Leo trines your sign from very early Wed. till Friday morn. Meetings with your child’s teachers or entertainment may occupy your time. Perhaps you volunteer to chaperone a school field trip, (even tho refereeing their little feuds n fights might make it less than enjoyable). But frankly, with Mercury retrograde, plans may have to be revised and your presence might be appreciated to help guide the kids on the detour. Oh, and that Mercury retro may affect your partner-spouse more than yourself; help him or her cope with changes in schedule.

TAURUS

April 20-May 20 – Mercury goes retrograde in your solar sixth house Libra, and the Sun also enters that sign. Health issues may send you back for another xray to find out what is really going on. It may not be anything serious enough for surgery, so don’t panic at this warning — I am just saying that anything you have been ignoring, could suddenly scream for attention. Venus enters your opposite sign, which I interpret as: personal appearances you make find an appreciative audience.

GEMINI

May 21-June 20 – Mercury goes retrograde in your solar fifth house Libra, plus the Sun enters Libra. Children, creative expression, and recreation plans could all need revising. Kids’ teachers may ask you to permit special help for your child, a play performance may get canceled, your book editor asks for huge revisions. Just roll with it, because these little things are nothing to get upset about. And besides, you love surprises and winging it and serendipity.

CANCER

June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer from Sunday evening till early morning Wednesday. Monday may be a bit of a challenge with Moon in Cancer and the Sun making a square as it enters Libra in the late morning. Judging from a solar chart, home and family matters may distract you from your usual agenda for the day. You finally get to the bottom of the problem on Tuesday — I am guessing it will have something to do with credit/debt and your child’s school.

LEO

July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from the wee hours Wednesday till Friday morning. Thursday looks like you will spend much of the day working out objections from spouse or partner, and designing creative solutions to resolve those differences. This may play out on a personal level, or on a professional level for those with careers in legal arbitration or counseling. On Friday, the Moon makes favorable angles to both Mars and Pluto, suggesting this would be a good date for elective surgery. Hope it is nothing too serious, and get well soon, dear Leo.

VIRGO

Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from Friday morning till Sunday afternoon (the 28th). Some very positive aspects from the Moon to Venus and Jupiter in the wee hours Sat. mean maybe you should write down any great ideas that blast into your brain then. It is also possible that your Friday night party/date lingers well into the next day, with enormously loving vibes that you hate to let go of. Your nerves may get jangled Sat. evening, whether from a rude person or whatever — just shake it off and calm yourself with a cuppa tea.

LIBRA

Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Sorry to break it to you, Libra, but Mercury goes retrograde in your sign early Wednesday for a three-week vacation. Librans with natal planets at 22 and 7 degrees of the sign will feel the effects more than others. See general notes above for more on Mercury retrograde. Mercury conjunct Mars on Tues. morning is favorable for finding deals on the bargain tables at stores or even in the stock market.

SCORPIO

Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Venus enters Scorpio Tues. evening. With the Moon entering fashionable Leo on Wed., that may be a good time to schedule a beauty makeover or a salon appointment. It is always useful to update your look so you present a professional appearance, and it is not too early to think about what kind of dressy variation to use for holiday parties, etc. Scorpio also wears the little black dress better than just about anybody, so pull yours out of storage.

SAGITTARIUS

Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – Creative urges surge under a Moon aspect early Wed.; maybe you can get up early to work on a writing project or your sketchbook. The Moon in Leo trines Pluto in your sign early Friday; cleaning out drawers or the garage will be productive. You could also find success in research or investigational projects under this aspect. Personally, I would rather clean out a closet, but that’s just me. Sun and retrograde Mercury affect Libra, your solar eleventh house of friends and groups. Meetings may have to be rescheduled or speakers cancel; maybe you will have to speak instead on your fascinating travels, complete with photos or video.

CAPRICORN

Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Sun enters Libra plus Mercury goes retrograde in that sign, your solar tenth house of career. You might not welcome being in the public eye for any of Mercury’s mis-statements or gaffes, so stick to your prepared notes. Ask trusted persons for their wise counsel, and have accounting check the numbers again. Sales may be disappointing; have incentives ready for sales staff and consumers alike.

AQUARIUS

Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – College classes and legal matters may run into snafus under the Mercury retrograde period in Libra. Accept any delay in court dates, and listen attentively to your publisher’s suggestions on editing your book project. All of the above will work to your advantage, so don’t waste energy fighting it. Venus enters Scorpio in your solar tenth house of career; you feel more appreciated by management or stockholders, and you could even land a contract with a personal sales call.

PISCES

Feb. 18-March 19 – Estate and other life and death issues run into snafus with the Mercury retrograde in Libra in your solar eighth house. Double-check that the interest rate is correct on your loan papers. You could also find out the answer to certain mysteries about ancestors in your research into the family tree, like when then came to the United States or why they left one state or job for another. Venus in Scorpio in your solar ninth house could bring a college tuition grant or scholarship, or a favorable decision in a court matter.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
