Your Milky Way Horoscope Oct. 26-Nov. 1

By Milky Way Maid

Happy pre-Halloween New Moon at 5 degrees Scorpio on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at about 7:14 pm Eastern time. The Sun and Mars are already waiting in Scorpio, and if they can find another golfer they can finally get a foursome together. (small joke) So anyway, the energy is getting more intense in the coming weeks, more focused on survival as well as focusing one’s spiritual strength. The Sun, Mars, and Moon fill in a T-square against Neptune in Aquarius and Ceres in Leo, along with the Nodes in the same signs. The pressure may actually be defused or burned off a bit by the better known continuing opposition between Uranus in Pisces and Saturn in Virgo, as Scorpio gets along better with both signs.

And what does all this mean for you, the reader, you may ask? It means that decisions will have to be made, no more putting things on hold. These are fixed signs — Scorpio, Leo, and Aquarius — and probably a few egos will get dented as folks dig in their heels, or get competitive, or just retreat to their private corners where they don’t have to put up with a bunch of fools. Should make for some great football games this fall, tho.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop.

ARIES

March 20-April 19 – Parties may not appeal to you this Halloween, judging from Ceres in your solar fifth house of fun n games. Ceres might be a bit nervous about treats from strangers, and prefer to make her own meals for the little goblins at home. Other options are spending it with the spouse in a romantic dinner date, or traveling across the country. If you can figure out a way to squeeze all of that into the holiday weekend, you probably will.

TAURUS

April 20-May 20 – Parties are not your cup of tea this year, not with Saturn in your solar fifth house of fun n games. The fourth house of home and family is OK, with Ceres there offering a safe alternative to running thru the neighborhood after dark. You might be asked to help out a neighbor or relative with a local restaurant buffet or other local festivities. Being of service can be very empowering. Take a few minutes on New Moon day Tuesday to write out some goals for the month. The Moon in your opposite sign Scorpio can help you move past stubbornness and stuck-ness.

GEMINI

May 21-June 20 – Going out is a must for you this Halloween. Dress up as a famous writer or news person. Interview the other “celebrities” at the party. Emcee the costume and dance contests. You might as well practice your stand-up act, too. You might forget to eat something, but it won’t be the first time that’s happened. Call in to a radio or TV station for a contest or song request; you might be surprised at what develops. Just go along with any gag.

CANCER

June 21-July 22 – Parties might not be your best choice this year, not with Mars in your solar fifth house. That placement is great for a sexy, romantic dinner for two, tho. Staying home with the kids party is another good option, or going to work for tips. Just hanging around the neighborhood is probably gonna be dull. So take your pick. If you can figure out how to squeeze two or more items into the weekend, great, go for it. You’re a great mom and a great spouse and a great waitress/cook, so anyone who is on the receiving end of your talents is very lucky.

LEO

July 23-Aug. 22 – Ceres in your sign this Halloween suggests you want to provide the (wholesome) goodies for the little goblin party. You love kids and love helping channel their energies into something creative and fun. A strong female Sag person may be your best ally in pulling off a great Halloween party. A little pumpkin carving, a little art project, some cartoons and a costume contest should do it. Oh, and the food. Did you know they have brain molds, ideal for green jello? You do now.

VIRGO

Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – You normally like having some moderate fun on Halloween, but Saturn in your sign this year is such a taskmaster. Try to get your nose off the grindstone for a few hours anyway. Check out the DVD catalog at the library, or dust off some fave videos, or try out the free downloads at popular sites like hulu. Actually, I think you would love to get away for the whole weekend at some rustic cabin or mountain hideaway. Sometimes roughing it makes you appreciate what you do have back in the city.

LIBRA

Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from the previous Saturday till early Tuesday morning. Sunday brunch or dinner with some women friends sounds perfect, or possibly an afternoon tour of an art exhibit will fit the bill. The Moon-Mercury conjunction squares Jupiter in Capricorn tho early Monday, so do not be surprised if family matters tie up your phone line. A child may be lost or need guidance that afternoon. You have my permission to recuperate the rest of the week.

SCORPIO

Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from early Tuesday morning till Thursday afternoon. Write out your New Moon goals for the month sometime early afternoon Tuesday (or the night before). They should have something to do with spiritual growth, self-reliance, and how to transform a situation for everyone’s highest good. On the 29th, the Moon conjuncts Mars and sextiles Jupiter and Saturn — this is great if you are entered in a sports or other competitive situation. The Moon trines Uranus later that night, leading to surprises or gaining new insights. You may be a bit fuzzy-headed if you stay out late Wed., so stick to your normal schedule.

SAGITTARIUS

Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from Thursday afternoon till the wee hours Sunday. The Moon and Venus sextile Chiron Friday; this favors learning more about alternative health. You might look into visiting a health day spa or ask a neighbor or relative who is involved in that area. Saturday morn the Moon squares Saturn and Uranus about 8 am Eastern. Be safety-conscious because this is an aspect that can lead to accidents or arguments.

CAPRICORN

Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon squares Jupiter in your sign very early Monday; likely you will not be in a good mood kicking off your week, but avoid “shop therapy”. Mars sextiles your sign in the afternoon, favoring energetic seminars or a walking inspection. On Wed., Moon-Mars sextiles Jupiter in your sign; I suggest some friendly competition to burn off some of that physical energy, or stopping in at the pool or gym after work.

AQUARIUS

Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Women friends and club members can be very supportive this week; ask for a referral or introduction, or for just a nice chat over coffee. You might be surprised over how many people you both know. Try not to get drawn into arguments with the boss; that kind of conflict goes nowhere. But do go in prepared with sources and spreadsheets as needed to back up your points. Also do not be surprised this week if you already know who is calling without even looking at the caller ID.

PISCES

Feb. 18-March 19 – Best days this week are Mon. & Tues. morn (for creative projects), and Wed. evening, Friday afternoon (for mechanical or electronic stuff) . Sat. morning can be difficult if you are with anyone who issues ultimatums; you might be better off just staying in. For Halloween your best bet is hosting a party at your house. Have a couple Halloween movies available on DVD, plenty of popcorn, some games, and make up a prize category for everyone’s costume.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
