Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 8-14: Valentine’s Week

Valentine’s Day falls in sexy Scorpio on Saturday. However, readers might want to schedule their special dates for Friday evening to take advantage of a harmonious trine from the Moon in relationship-oriented Libra to Sun-Neptune in Aquarius. The activation of air signs will also increase conversation, the exchange of ideas – and you know what they say about the brain being the sexiest part of the body. Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop.

ARIES – March 20-April 19 – Aries often wants to get things done early, and you might try to talk your sweetheart into celebrating V-Day early (real early, like Sunday-Monday). The Moon will trine your Sun-sign from warm, fiery Leo, in your solar fifth house of romance. Is your mate not biting at the suggestion? How about Moon in Libra (sign of relationships) in your solar seventh house on Thurs.-Fri.? OK, she wants dinner out on the fourteenth not any other day, fine; so how about someplace with a firepit, maybe one of the fancier bar-b-q places, or a romantic Mexican or Italian place? Aries likes their food hot, so even Szechuan Chinese will fit the bill.

TAURUS – April 20-May 20 – Taurus never met a meal it did not like. OK, I exaggerate, but only a little. But taking Taurus out to eat for V-Day may be a little trite, because after all she does like to do other things, like go to a concert or someplace beautiful like an arboretum or gallery. Think outside the plate. Treating her to a day spa where she can get her hard-working calluses sloughed off and her hair curled will make her ever so grateful, too. Get her chocolate, gloves, perfume and/or a music CD. Ideas for music: Josh Groban, classical, or Irish. She might even nibble on your ear instead of the chocolate. (Um, maybe she will nibble on your ear AND the chocolate, but not at the same time.) Likes Hawaii, so give her a flower to wear behind the ear.

GEMINI – May 21-June 20 – Geminis prefer to spend their evenings doing more than one thing, so have at least three stops on your agenda for V-Day. Do NOT worry about being over-scheduled! The more stimulation, the better. Try to have at least one thing that she has never tried before, whether it is a food or an activity like hang-gliding, or roller blading while underwater. Likes lemon flavoring, miniatures, finger foods, and conversation about twenty different things. Include cartoons before the movie, and several cartons of Chinese take-out to eat while watching the main feature. Do not be serious; do be funny and entertaining and tell a few jokes where you do different voices.

CANCER – June 21-July 22 – Cancer is one of the most sentimental of signs, although she is a very executive mom or dad, too. Expects the best of everything for V-Day, or the best you can afford. Likes to be cuddled, and likes to have some squishy stuffed thingie to hold when you are not around. Chocolate is of course required. Surf n turf is a popular entree order, altho sometimes they identify with the surf part of it and that spoils the thing for them. Take them to a restaurant that serves plenty of food, or even better, a buffet. Must have dessert, preferably in multiples. Of course she claims she only takes a teensy bit of each dish, but goes back two or three times. Try not to notice. She’s a good egg, after all.

LEO – July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from late on the 7th till the first hour Tuesday (ET). Sunday could be a challenging day; it looks like you might spend it waiting on your S.O., who could take to her bed sick. Possibly a woman relative can help by bringing a supply of chicken soup (Moon trine Venus). Monday is just as challenging, and your fixity will meet with equally fixed opposition Leo Moon opposes Sun, Chiron, Neptune). Try a soft answer and be willing to make adjustments to software, record-keeping, etc (Leo Moon inconjunct Uranus early and Mercury late).

VIRGO – Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from the first hour Tues. till the wee hours Thurs. You really dig into the research Tuesday. You may also try to arrange introductions between two people who really ought to meet; who knows, it might lead to a dynamite Valentine’s Day for both. One of the parties may be a friend at work (it happens). Wed. favors knuckling down and checking off items from your to-do list with the aid of a trine to Saturn. Warning: electronic stuff might be cranky so so get as much as possible done early-early. You may have to spend the afternoon improvising. Be sure you are fully awake when starting your commute Thurs. because your Sun is conjunct fuzzy-headed Neptune.

LIBRA – Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from the wee hours Thursday till Saturday morning. The Moon squares Pluto Thursday morn, putting an accent on home and family; possibly an addition to the extended family, possibly plumbing repairs (what a choice!). But a trine to Mars and Jupiter in your solar fifth house of children hints it has to do with your kids. Friday is a lovely day, with trines to dreamy Sun-Neptune so you might schedule an early Valentine’s date with your beau. I see something airy, maybe a restaurant atop a skyscraper with views of the city lights. Libra is fond of flowers, satin, Japan, quiet tables at the best restaurants, and your full attention.

SCORPIO – Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from Saturday morning till next Monday evening. Valentine’s Day is in intense Scorpio this Saturday; there’s a sexy square to Mars in the evening but also an inconjunct to Venus in your solar sixth house. The inconjunct may mean you have to improvise the latter part of the evening (wink, wink). With any luck the power will go out, forcing you to rely on candlelight; oh, the hardship (not). Who needs videos, anyway? A jug of wine, a loaf of bread, and thou, and maybe a book of poetry to put you both in the mood. Scorp is fond of seafood, orchids, the tropics, and spices. Try to work those into your plans.

SAGITTARIUS – Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – If you cannot get into your fave restaurant on V-Day, try to schedule on a Moon-in-Leo day (Sun.-Mon.); this is because you did not give a thought to planning ahead. OK, do it your own impromptu way. Look up whatever movie is playing in town, and go out for some dinner afterward (wherever they have a table open). This usually works out for you because you have friends all over, so you just ask if their place is booked up. You might wind up at a diner, you might wind up with a personal chef coming to your place to make dinner, you never know with Sag. As far as Sag is concerned, it’s all good. And with Sag keeping you company and telling stories about their adventures, I suppose it is. And you will have a fab time of it.

CAPRICORN – Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Cappy is not one of the more sentimental signs, but they consider it their duty to treat or be treated on V-Day as their due. Dining at a fine old establishment, or a newer one that has the proper air of substance, is their idea of a good restaurant. They will ask for the package deal, or pick up the meal to eat at home; after all, why did we buy these fancy dishes if we never use them? Cappy likes to be comfortable, a trait it shares with Taurus, tho his idea of comfort is a rustic cabin sometimes. But Cappy also likes the best of everything, since he earned it: fine wine, aged cheese, and a full-course meal, and treating you to some choice jewelry for dessert. Ahh, life is good. PS: Cappy rules timepieces so you might give her a fancy-schmancy watch.

AQUARIUS – Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Aquarius is often thought of as so cerebral and cool, if not chilly, but this is an error. Aquarians can be among the most sentimental of people about their mates and children. It is for them that the lacy cards are still produced, with the sappiest poems inside. Don’t laugh, he or she will stick with you thru thick and thin, and lucky are those who have a Water-Bearer for a mate. Aquarius is a fixed sign, one that does not dump a spouse just because they’ve run into a bad patch. So find the most sincere card you can, and refrain from snarky comments as you hand it over. Count your lucky stars, and give a kiss for each one.

PISCES – Feb. 18-March 19 – Pisces likes a cozy establishment to dine in, one that preferably serves drinks and lots of them, with plenty of dishes on the menu because she will take forever to choose anyway. She likes glass, so add to her collection with a little knickknack. She also likes soft things, something squishy like a pillow or stuffed animal, and a crocheted throw to keep warm while vegging out in front of the TV. Try to talk her into going to someplace with a dance floor. Offer to rub her feet when you get home if she complains that her feet will hurt. Who knows where that will lead, hmmm?

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
