Your Milky Way Horoscope July 5-11, 2009

By Milky Way Maid

Venus enters flirty Gemini early Sunday morning at 4:23 am Eastern Time. Perhaps a new nail color appeals to you, or you get a manicure on impulse. At any rate, pay attention to your hands and nails and buff them up; hands are one of the first things noticed upon meeting, so you want to give a good first impression. On a deeper level, try to communicate love and acceptance to those you deal with. It takes only a few seconds to uplift others.

Mars in Taurus squares Neptune in Aquarius on Monday morning. Physically, this can be a weakening or even a debilitating phase for Taureans in particular but applies to most natives of the fixed signs. Rhythmic movement, especially to music, can be very helpful. Get out your tai chi and yoga tapes, or dance a few cha-chas or rhumbas. This square challenges one to overcome discouragement; hang on to your courage. Those with natal planets at 25-26 degrees of fixed and earth signs will be especially affected by this square.

A Lunar Eclipse occurs Tuesday at 5:21 am Eastern at 15 degrees 24 minutes of Capricorn/Cancer. The Moon in Capricorn trines Saturn in Virgo that morning also. Self-discipline rules the day. An eclipse in Capricorn hammers home the lesson that reputation is your biggest asset. We have seen too many headlines where politicians and financiers have learned the hard way how fragile the public trust is. Capricorn is very ambitious, and there’s nothing wrong with ambition when paired with responsibility.

Mars square Jupiter-Neptune is inclined to take big risks, and lose all. Uranus squares Pluto, which can be good when it leads to profound insights, but can be annoying when machinery or electronic goods break down.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – With Mars and Venus entering your solar third house, you may have a very busy social calendar this summer for both love and sports. You meet siblings, neighbors and relatives for parties and games, and one of them may introduce you to a special someone to spend your time with. Juno enters Aries on July fourth, asking you to work in partnership with a true sense of equality. You look for a mate who is strong, pioneering, and speaks his or her mind. The Lunar Eclipse affects your solar fourth and tenth house axis, so expect some changes to your career or home.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – Make sure you get your sleep and keep regular hours, because Mars squaring Neptune on Monday morning can sap your energy big time. See suggestions above. Mars in Taurus squares Jupiter on Monday night; Mars-Jupiter aspects can apply to risk-taking whether in sports or other endeavors. But the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction flavors this angle with a bit of reaching-for-the-moon yearning, so perhaps you begin working aggressively towards a goal that may be beyond your reach but the effort leads to a better you. The Lunar Eclipse affects your solar third and ninth houses; perhaps you go back to school, or finish up a course of study. You might also publish a book or start a legal case.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – Venus enters Gemini early Sunday; time to be kind to yourself and others. Mars enters your sign Saturday night; time for Twins to go vroom vroom and dash around in double time. You may feel more energetic and more sports-minded till late August when Mars enters the sign of the Crab (and Venus can lend some sporting luck to your team). Mars likes debate and when it is in Gemini it can express as a sharp wit. But Mars may spur you to confront others, and let’s hope in a loving, constructive way with the aid of dear Venus.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – Tuesday has a Mars sextile to Uranus; you may join friends in an outing to a comedy club or to a fascinating lecture on a college campus. Tuesday also has the Full Moon lunar eclipse in your opposite sign Capricorn; the accent will be on relationships and also you may be put in the public eye for the next few months. Thursday may a fated quality to it; it features a yod formed by the Sun in Cancer, sextile Saturn, and both inconjunct the Moon in Aquarius. The Moon will be in your solar eighth house of pooled resources such as insurance (or lotteries), so you or someone near you may win a piece of a jackpot.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – Venus moves into your solar eleventh house and adds a touch of flirtatious romance to gatherings with friends. You can flirt with the best of them, Leo. Venus also makes networking easy, inspiring people to help you just because they like you. The Lunar Eclipse accents health issues, since it touches your solar sixth and twelfth houses. Let’s hope that you are doing good deeds by visiting patients and are not the one in the hospital. Best days this week: Moon is Aquarius (Wed.-Fri.) is helpful in public appearances, so schedule presentations etc. on those days.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon trines Saturn in your sign on Tuesday; you are disciplined and cool as a cucumber so schedule oral exams, tests or presentations for that day. The Sun sextiles Saturn in your sign on Thursday so accept an honor graciously; you might also reflect some light on those who deserve credit for helping you along. Mercury sextiles Saturn in your sign on Saturday; a good day for starting a course, or buckling down to master a subject. The Lunar Eclipse accents your solar eleventh and fifth houses; you might join a social or civic group that becomes key to enriching your life. Enjoyment and creativity grow under this lunation, so indulge your curiosity about a craft or learn to play an instrument.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – Venus moves into Gemini, trining your natal planets and bringing small gifts or at least a sense of well-being. Venus is in your solar ninth house, bringing lots of social events at college or thru the internet. If your are already graduated, be sure to keep up with alumni events for networking opportunities. The Lunar Eclipse accents your solar fourth and tenth houses so expect tension between your career and home/family. You may have to decide between one or the other, or have that decision made for you. Juno moves into your solar seventh house on July fourth, so don’t be surprised if you suddenly meet your life mate.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Lunar Eclipse accents your solar third and ninth houses, and that includes a lot of territory: messages, phone calls, politics, law, publishing, religion, college. Be aware of what people are saying about you; solicit feedback and public comment. Your reputation can take a beating on the flimsiest of evidence, so be ready to explain yourself. Flirty Venus (and later Mars) enter your solar eighth house of sex, pooled resources, insurance, estate matters. Possibly a bequest is received, or insurance becomes an issue. Best days this week: Moon in Capricorn (Mon-Wed.) favors personal communications so be sure to catch up on emails or calls.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag as the week begins, until about 10 pm Eastern on Sunday night. The Moon sextiles Jupiter and Neptune Sunday afternoon; you may be touched and inspired by a local performer. It may be as ordinary a setting as the talent show in the local park, or as grand as an opera house or art gallery. A square to Uranus later that afternoon may upset you, or just as easily produce gales of laughter; it helps to have your sense of humor handy. Best days: Moon in Aquarius.

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from Sunday night till midday Wednesday. The Moon joins Pluto and is inconjunct Venus on Sunday night; an opportunity to learn to exchange love and acceptance presents itself. You may have to force yourself to give a hug, but really, they can be a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. The Moon opposes Mercury Monday morn; try to balance mental and emotional expression. In other words, validate what someone has done right before criticizing their error. A trine from the Moon to Mars in Taurus is nice for finding someone to go to a sporting event with you; Taurus is very companionable especially if you’re buying the ball park hot dogs.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from midday Wednesday till Friday night. The Moon trines Venus in Gemini Wednesday evening; good for a romantic dinner or just a flirty chat. See above notes on Venus in Gemini. On Thursday a Yod forms with Moon in Aquarius inconjunct both Sun in Cancer and Saturn in Virgo; a fated quality may permeate your day. The Moon conjoins the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction on Friday and you could get swept away in an awe-inspiring experience. The Moon squares Mars that night which can make you dig in your heels just to be stubborn.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from Friday night through the weekend. The Moon sextiles Pluto late Friday in your solar eleventh house of groups and friends; perhaps you enjoy a deep conversation with pals, or attend a fascinating speaker on the mysteries of the universe, or you could stay home with an enthralling mystery. On Saturday the Moon squares Venus; you hate your hair and face and nothing you try makes you look good in the mirror. It’s you, not the mirror; do a kindness for yourself such as a proper cleansing, a bubble bath, yoga, giving yourself a manicure.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
