Your Milky Way Horoscope Nov. 15-21, 2009

  By Milky Way Maid

Natives of fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) may feel the tensions of a T-square even tho it is not exact. A stellium of Sun, Mercury, Moon, Venus in Scorpio squares Mars in Leo and Jupiter-Neptune in Aquarius. The Moon square Mars, and Sun square Neptune are exact on Sunday night. The first can have you burning up energy in wasted effort, and the second can bring self-delusion or intoxication. You might be able to channel the energy of this transit with a deliberate effort in support of positive Jupiter-Neptune memes like religious dedication, meditation, community involvement, music, and healing. Even your personal film festival would fit. Neptune is also water, so you may find it beneficial to take various water treatments including sauna, whirlpool, or even a bubble bath. Visiting a water park might do it for you, too, or watching fish in your aquarium.

Mercury enters Sag on Sunday night, and Sun enters Sag on Saturday night. It’s an all-Sag week when the Moon also dallies in the same sign Tues-Thurs. Adaptability becomes a key word, so try to figure out how you can incorporate changing markets to your own situation.

Mercury is sextile Saturn in Libra midnight Monday. This is a good time to not only organize a department or a closet, but to learn to master a subject. You might enroll in a class, or get informal instruction from a friend.

Venus in Scorpio squares Mars in Leo early Thursday. Fixed signs may feel like the adage, “you can’t live with ’em, and you can’t live without ’em” is SO true! A love-hate relationship gives you cause for second thoughts. But realize that we all have our foibles and flaws, and try to tally your own such traits.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – Your natal planets plus the Moon in Sag and Mars in Leo start a bright ‘fire sign’ for all your friends to gather around. You are likely to gather at a sporting event or fun “casino night”. The Venus square Mars aspect midweek gives a real boost to your energy level. Mars in your solar fifth house will get you started on creative projects. Mars may even get you some playing time in local sports. PS — I bet you are already planning a big, spectacular holiday display, possibly with some help from a techie friend.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – The beginning of the week may put you on edge, and the pressure you feel could be coming from yourself, not from others. Giving yourself timeouts to read or take a walk can help, also playing music (I don’t mean playing taped music, I mean playing an instrument yourself.) Groups may be contentious or competitive, but you can change the dynamic there. Break the ice, offer cookies, freely share your own tips for handling tricky issues, etc. Gradually the atmosphere will change.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – Twins get a boost this month from Sun and Mercury moving into opposing Sag. You benefit from tossing ideas back and forth with a spouse or other sounding board. Tuesday’s Mercury in Sag sextile Saturn in Libra helps you master a new course of study; perhaps you find a private instructor. Your studies may be in a creative arts or just in creative use of technical applications.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – Venus in Scorpio squares Mars in Leo, affecting your solar fifth and second houses. You may spend too much on art supplies or on recreation, but geez, the soul needs its food, too, just as much as the body does. Well, maybe you can sell some of your holiday treats that use your secret family recipe. On Friday, the Moon in Capricorn sextiles Venus in Scorpio; perhaps your spouse can help you create your own supply of canvases or other surfaces to paint on.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – We love you Leo, but sometimes you act like your opinion is the only one that counts. And this Mars in Leo is terribly brave and strong, but also headstrong, stubborn and opinionated. Apply some of your Leo generosity towards giving others the space to feel that their opinion is valued, too. Share the spotlight. Boost the spirits of those who have lost heart; lend them some of your courage.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – Virgo also feels energized by the entry of Sun and Mercury into Sag. Questions arise that prod you to find the answers. Also because they enter your solar fourth house, they refocus energy on home and family. You may want to prep your home for the coming holiday season with paint or just a deep cleaning. Your spouse spends more time at home, as does a child or a child’s friends. Refrain from saying things you may regret midweek; that Venus square Mars affects your solar third house (communications, siblings) and self-undoing. Biting your tongue is a good skill to have.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – Your transiting Saturn is sextiled by Mercury in Sag Tuesday. You may be called on to arbitrate matters involving siblings or neighbors (if you do try to meet with them, Thurs. afternoon is not best; Sat. night is much better). Others may ask you for advice on rules of etiquette relating to announcements or business communications. You may prefer to go to the movies on Saturday; since the Moon trines Saturn in your sign from your solar fifth house; I think you might enjoy a classic or something from the Criterion Collection.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from Sunday till early Tuesday. Avoid intoxication on Sunday night, due to the Sun-Neptune square; chemicals may hit you harder than normal. See notes above about the T-square. The Moon squares Neptune midday Monday, and could have you wallowing in self-pity; take your mind off personal stuff with movies, friends, etc. The New Moon that p.m. gives you a fresh start with a chance to identify where you might find fresh insights (Uranus). This NM also reinforces the spiritual side of Scorpio; you may feel called to give service in some way. Venus in your sign squares Mars in Leo Wed-Thurs, creating bickering, or mixed feelings of love-hate for the other person in your life.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 12:22 am Tuesday till Thursday morn. You are very mentally active on Tuesday (Moon conjunct Mercury and sextile Saturn), with the ability to focus on science, research, reports, etc. You are more physically active on Wednesday morn due to the Moon trine Mars. A square to Uranus that evening may affect your online surfing. Maybe you can just go into offline mode and enjoy a bubble bath (Moon sextile Neptune).

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 10 am Thursday till Saturday night. Thursday afternoon is very heavy-duty with Moon conjunct Pluto and square Saturn. You may be very determined to tackle an obstacle, or to regain control of a situation or relationship. Unfortunately you might be very willing to terminate relationships, too, if you believe they are not working out. Is there still some good worth salvaging? Counseling can help even tough situations, so give that a chance. Friday evening favors treating the wounds in a love relationship.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon enters Aquarius at 10:11 pm Saturday; a trine to Saturn follows in the wee hours of Sunday. You may find yourself staying up late to clean house or finish reports for work. You will be very goal-oriented this weekend instead of vegging out watching all the ball games. Saturn’s move into Libra this fall may have you going back to school or seminars to sharpen your work skills. You may even begin teaching, and I bet you’d be good at it.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – Sun and Mercury enter Sag, squaring your own sign. This can bring more communication and demands from bosses at work, and you may also give talks or chair meetings in your department. The fact that the Moon is near the Sun may mean you represent the company in public in some way, perhaps at a local charitable event. A child in college may need a health matter tended to Venus in your solar ninth house squared by Mars in your solar sixth), so make sure your child has student coverage.

This week’s column is posted in Arial, 12 point.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
