Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 7-13, 2010

February 1, 2010 at 11:24 am

  By Milky Way Maid

The Sun at 18 degrees Aquarius is sextile Ceres in Sag about 8 am Sunday. You may be moved to join a natural foods coop, or an advocacy group for organic or anti-GMO crops, or you might just start designing your backyard Victory garden. You may merely find a kindred soul in your own back yard in regards to these same issues.

Venus is conjunct Neptune early Monday, Feb. 8 at 12:44 am. Valentine’s Day comes early if you can stay up late gazing into each other’s eyes or reading poetry together. Neptune is the higher octave of Venus, and best expresses itself through the arts like music, poetry, painting and dance. You may be moved to actually compose an original work dedicated to your love. The one downside, and this is a biggie, is that you are seeing the idealized, not the realistic, image of your beloved. If you can accept all the little flaws, you can bring out the best in each other.

Mercury enters Aquarius at 4:06 am Wednesday. Mercury in this sign is highly impersonal and so you ought to work at keeping a certain cordiality in your email to avoid turning off people with your coldness. Perhaps you can craft a nice, professional yet warm signature for your emails, or remind yourself to sign off your voicemail with best wishes for the other party. Also watch yourself before uttering thoughtless retorts; sometimes wit is not the highest virtue, OK? On the other hand, this Mercury placement is capable of great mental empathy with others’ emotional and mental state. An effort to meet every person on the soul level can open up new vistas in personal connections.

Venus enters its dreamiest home in Pisces at 7:10 am Thursday. Venus here is prone to read a lot of romance novels (a genre that I detest btw) but at its best is capable of loving even the ugliest, most misbegotten of us. You might take in a stray or two this week. Venus here has the urge to alleviate suffering at the same time it feels so terribly inadequate to do so. Try not to save the whole world; it is enough to apply compassion to any situation. Compassion is the one thing that the Dalai Lama urged on all of us.

Mercury at 3 degrees Aquarius trines Saturn in Libra at 8:34 pm Friday. Your intellect is stronger and more disciplined, especially since these planets are in the air signs. You may latch onto the right book or teacher, or begin a course of study (formally or informally). You are able to focus your thoughts, and maybe even organize them into a book or course or research project.

Mercury then opposes Mars in Leo at 5:25 am Saturday, at about 4 and half degrees. Mercury opposite Mars is very argumentative, very prone to lashing out verbally without thinking, so take care. It’s fine for debate and verbal jousting in a friendly or formal setting, but take care that you aim your wit at someone who can take it. There is some tendency to nervous strain or feeling that your nerves are stretched taut. Take care of yourself, force yourself to take breaks and get your sleep. Keeping on a regular schedule can help you reason your way through difficult decisions.

The New Moon occurs at 9:51 pm Sat., Feb. 14 at 25 degrees 18 minutes of Aquarius. The Moon goes on to conjunct Neptune about an hour and a half later. So this is a very hopeful and idealistic lunation. (The SUN conjuncts Neptune on Sunday evening.) Chiron is also between the Sun and Neptune, so be very careful not to get wounded by your own naivete or by blind trust/faith. You may not be thinking too clearly so try to use people whose judgment you trust as sounding boards. And BTW this is also Chinese New Year, ushering in the year of the Tiger. (ie don’t try to ride the tiger or you may wind up inside)

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – Mercury enters your solar eleventh house of friends on Wednesday; the conjunction with the Moon late Thursday offers a swell time talking with bosom buddies. Communications with your partner flow easily when this Mercury trines Saturn in Libra on Friday night. Careful of the temptation to argue on Saturday morning, tho; it is fine to debate by the rules, altho take care to avoid sarcasm.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – Venus enters your solar eleventh house of friends on Thursday; the month favors exchanges of favors, gifts, and unconditional love with women friends and daughters. Saturday’s Mercury opposition to Mars squares your natal Taurus placements; this can be disastrous if you paint yourself into a corner, in some argument, and can find no graceful way of backing down, because both of you refuse to apologize. How about this: avoid painting yourself into any corners, then you won’t have to worry how to get out of it.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – Venus is conjunct Neptune late Sunday in your solar fifth house of love and creativity. Love may inspire one of your best artistic efforts, or you could just wallow in your own film festival. Your best day this week is probably late Thursday, when the Moon in Aquarius trines Saturn in Libra and trines your natal planets for a grand air trine. Have a bull session to drum up great ideas to evaluate later.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – Tuesday will be quite challenging with a T-square to Moon-Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Libra; you will be stretched to the limit but Jupiter in Pisces can provide an oasis of counsel and philosophy. Venus enters Pisces on Thursday and will begin to trine your natal planets. You will find it easier to give and receive love, compliments, favors, and assistance. Of course you are always a caring, nurturing person, but you will feel more appreciated this month.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – Wednesday has a challenge from Jupiter in Pisces to Mars in your sign; you can earn the top prize or popularity in athletic competitions. The New Moon in Aquarius on Saturday puts an emphasis on partnerships and being in the public eye; conjunct Neptune, it gives you an aura of glamor. Venus and Jupiter nearby promise lots of luck and public approval. Opposite Mars in Leo your athletic ability, courage or ambition might be on display.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – Monday may have an upsetting moment in the evening when the Moon in Sag squares Uranus in Pisces; best to overlook thoughtless comments that mean nothing in the long run. Venus enters your opposite sign on Thursday morning; your partner never looked more attractive or charming. You may be in the public eye, yourself, with something to offer us in terms of beauty or humanitarian values.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – Mercury enters compatible Aquarius on Wednesday; communications with children increase so don’t be surprised by a flurry of emails etc this month. Friday’s Mercury-Saturn trine really helps you organize and prioritize your thoughts and to-do list. You can get a great deal done if you don’t mind that this is normally a date night. Saturday’s New Moon in Aquarius activates your solar fifth house sector; creativity, children, speculation and leisure all figure to dominate the month, but the arts seem to have the upper hand with artistic Neptune ensconced in Aquarius. Sign up for a class in something, or see if you can get your work in a show.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – The New Moon Saturday in Aquarius challenges you in regards to home and family, since it is in your solar fourth house. Perhaps you wish to buy or sell a house, or you want to have closer relationships with relatives. Neptune and Chiron conjunct the NM at 25 degrees are about the self-wound you have given yourself in cutting off some of those relatives; has everyone been punished enough yet? Perhaps you will instead be saying goodbye to elders as you move on to new frontiers. Best wishes in your new endeavors, Scorp.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from the week’s start till early Tuesday. The Moon squares Jupiter at 4 am Sunday; work on your philosophy of life and learn to accept others’ imperfections. The Moon trines Mars at 7:21 am Sunday; your energies are good and you may feel like hiking or skiing this morning. This day is good for creative and recuperative activities; you are a vital person.

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 5:43 am Tuesday till Thursday evening. The Moon is conjunct Pluto and squares Saturn on Tuesday afternoon; your mind is very penetrating and you can tear through a mountain of work. The Moon sextiles Jupiter later that day, raising your optimism and helping you apply a Piscean acceptance of others’ faults. Wednesday is neutral, with no aspects to any transits in your sign. Thursday morn has a Moon-Uranus sextile, a very agreeable aspect for laughs and happy accidents.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from 6:24 pm Thursday till Sunday morn. Aquarians are not prone to emotional thinking but this can happen under a Moon-Mercury conjunction Thursday night; you may also be able to get groups of people to work together on a joint project. Mercury trines Saturn on Friday night, a serious aspect on what is normally a fun date night, sorry. You may latch onto the right book-teacher-course. Saturday is a very intense and hopeful New Moon at 25 degrees of your sign.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – Your ruler Neptune is very active this week. Venus is conjunct Neptune late Sunday-early Monday; you really do believe in the best of other people, and much prefer the rose-colored glasses to the harsh ‘reality’ (whatever that means). Neptune is conjunct the New Moon on Saturday at 25 Aquarius in your solar twelfth house, so you might volunteer to visit nursing homes or hospitals. If you have a therapy animal, that would give you great pleasure to take it to visit patients.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
