Your Milky Way Horoscope June 20-26, 2010

Happy Fathers’ Day to all the dads out there! That day is rather quiet astrologically, with only a Moon-Mercury trine exact that afternoon. Sounds great for picking up the phone for a chat, if you are not able to actually visit in person. Please do so while you can. Some novel had the line about a father being like a mountain in the distance. You think it will be there forever. Then suddenly one day you look, and the mountain is gone. That was exactly how it was for me when my dad passed away; a mountain had disappeared and I had no landmark anymore.

The Sun enters the cardinal sign of Cancer, the crab, at 7:28 am on Monday, June 21. Crabs are acquisitive and sensitive, family-oriented and home-loving. When hurt, they tend to retreat into their shells or homes, and eat. They are the quintessential Jewish mother, believing that food heals all. And how many of us have resorted to pigging out when stressed by information overload (Gemini)? The national character is not at home with being available 24/7 via all our technological gadgets. Give yourself some peace of mind by going offline and turning off the cellphone for at least an hour a day. You need your own space!

Of course once the Sun enters Cancer, it steps into the T-square between the other cardinal signs: Jupiter-Uranus in Aries, Pluto and the North Node in Capricorn, Saturn about to enter Libra again; also Juno is already in Cancer, welcoming June-July brides. Cancer will have to step lightly, crab-stepping his way through the minefield but getting the job done as always.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – Uranus entered your sign at the end of May. You may feel odd sensations in the body or skin, but that will settle down as you grow accustomed to this higher energy. Uranus is the universal mind aka the mind of God. Creative ideas may come out of nowhere, and you can pioneer new ways of doing things that benefit the whole of mankind. ‘Enlightened leadership’ might be another way of describing this new path for you. In other news, the entrance of the Sun and Mercury into your solar fourth house this week energizes your love of home and family. Perhaps you organize a family picnic so all the cousins can get better acquainted.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – You are more aware of your spouse’s emotions on Monday and Tuesday. You share a serendipitous discovery of a local shop or service Monday. Be cautious with your purse on Thursday when Mercury in your solar second house is squared by Saturn and trined by shifty Neptune. That includes being aware of the newest phishing scams. Friday is probably the best day to explore new cuisines at local restaurants, now that Sun and Mercury in Cancer set your feet to roaming the city.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – Sun and Mercury will enter your solar second house this week, and that is always welcome. You earn money through making personal presentations and by chance conversations. Brush off your one-minute elevation chat. On Thursday, Mercury is still in Gemini, and squares Saturn while trining Neptune; if you are at all uncertain of your facts, do not guess or you will be nailed on it. Saturday evening offers a great opportunity to talk your way into a great sale or a great deal.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – The Sun enters Cancer on Monday morn so look your best; others will notice you this month. Best days are probably with Moon in compatible Scorpio from Monday till midday Wednesday. Expect some adjustments at work on Monday, most of which will benefit you. You could be in line for quite a lucky break on Wednesday morn when the Sun in Cancer squares Jupiter (the Sun-Uranus square was Monday night).

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – Venus in your sign is squared by the Moon late Monday; try to avoid overspending to impress a date. Look, if you have to buy her attention, she probably is not too keen about you anyway. Best days are probably while Moon is in compatible Sag from midday Wednesday till Friday evening. Wednesday is very favorable with its Moon-Uranus trine making everything more fun, and the Moon-Jupiter trine increasing your luck. You will be the life of any party, but don’t overstay your welcome on Friday.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Sun enters your solar eleventh house on Monday; friends ask you over for dinner this month so clear your calendar for a sumptuous repast. In general you finally treat yourself a bit better this week. Do not skimp on the bubble bath or skin lotion. On Friday you will feel put-upon if you let the boss force you into working late, so don’t do it. You have done far more than your share this month.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra as the week begins, till Monday morning. Have a nice chat with Dad; or even better, write a note thanking him for all the things he did and said. The Moon trines Neptune early Monday; perhaps an interesting dream is worthy of the dream journal. The Sun and Mercury enter your solar tenth house of career this week, so look sharp and have your notes ready for any presentations you have scheduled.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 8:14 am Monday till Wednesday afternoon. The watery Sun-Moon trine eases an emotional flow with others right away Monday morn. Avoid spicy or other odd foods that day due to the Moon inconjunct Uranus in Aries, your solar sixth house of health. Tuesday begins with a Moon-Venus square; cash flow linked to your job may be challenged, so make sure you have emergency funds. You get very good advice from a mentor or an older person about 11 am Wednesday — altho a Neptune square soon after helps you talk yourself out of a winning move. Arrgghh.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 2:10 pm Wednesday till Friday night. A good laugh Wed. afternoon helps you shrug off reverses, and the evening is excellent for fun times with boon companions especially Aries. Thursday has a mix of challenges and opportunities, and you are very good at handling both. Friday evening brings emotional lows, although you will probably distract yourself with good movies.

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 10:21 pm Friday through the weekend. Friday evening can bring upsets and frustrations, probably because you cannot reach anyone at the company offices till Monday. Don’t let the little stuff drag you down, and most of it is little stuff. Saturday looks very good for communicating with the public and getting your message across. You also may enjoy a lovely night out with with your spouse/life partner.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – You can be inspiring Monday morning at the office meeting; send the ‘troops’ out on a positive note. Watch out for the fuzzies blurring your thoughts midday Wednesday, tho; make notes for yourself so you don’t miss any deadlines. Your communication skills are at their best on Thursday afternoon, so schedule interviews or conferences for that time period. Friday evening offers a swell, sympathetic time with good friends.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – Chiron is in Pisces till late July; you can profit from learning holistic healthcare and attitude adjustment techniques. The Sun enters Cancer on Monday, making a harmonious trine to your natal planets from your solar fifth house of fun, children and creativity. Things will start happening in that department this month, and spontaneous outings and dates turn out very well indeed. Mercury also enters Cancer Friday, helping you speak up on what kinds of things YOU would like to do.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
