Your Milky Way Horoscope July 4-10, 2010

June 26, 2010 at 9:19 pm

  By Milky Way Maid

Happy Birthday to the USA this week! The day will be marked by lots of fireworks, a Moon-Sun square on Sunday morning and a Venus-Ceres trine early Monday. The square may indicate the public (Moon) is at odds with their leader (Sun); President Obama’s poll ratings have taken a dip this spring. The trine may indicate rosy forecasts for the grain (Ceres) yields this fall.

Uranus turns retrograde at 12:50 pm on Monday, at zero degrees, 35 minutes of Aries. The trends foreshadowed by his brief visit to Aries should have given us a chance to prepare for the long-term sojourn that begins in 2011. Uranus re-enters Pisces in mid-August and remains in that sign thru the end of the year. Uranus will be retrograde till Dec. 5; hmm, wonder what kind of big surprise St. Nicholas will have for us? Something electrifying, for sure.

Mercury enters Leo at 12:29 pm Friday. Mercury trines Uranus in Leo Friday night. Mercury in Leo is rather unbalanced when the Lion tries to rule by fiat. However, developed or mature Leos are well aware of the effect their words have on others, and consciously shape their presentation for maximum effectiveness depending on their audience. Leos with this placement can leave a lasting impression on groups of people. Like Superman, use this force only for good. (wink)

Venus enters the sign Virgo at 7:32 am Saturday and promptly sextiles the Moon which has just entered Cancer. Venus in Virgo has an unfortunate fixation on trying to always be right in social situations. Hon, the only person who can rightly be judged by you is Yourself. Hold YOURSELF to your own high standards of service, and you will enjoy satisfaction and personal integrity.

Looking ahead to Sunday, July 11, a New Moon solar eclipse occurs at 19 degrees, 24 minutes of Cancer, at 3:40 pm. Whoa, it is conjunct the asteroid Juno, ruler of marriage. Relationships could get serious, and couples who have been living together for years may suddenly decide to make it legal. Juno wants equality in relationships, altho she doesn’t always get it. I am wondering if the quest for equality may also apply to gays’ quest for equal marriage status with straight couples.

The eclipse point is sextile both Mars and Vesta in Virgo. Pairing off does not merely satisfy the couple’s need for sex, it adds a spiritual dimension, and one might say a sacramental quality to lovemaking.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries as the week begins, and remains till Monday night. The Moon square the Sun mid-morning means every little thing may irritate you. Hey, don’t sweat the small stuff, and keep focused on your ideal. You will find release of tensions in sports or other physical exertion, or possibly in friendly competition. The Moon trines Venus mid-morning on Monday, when you are rather playful and creative. Take the kids on an outing. A Moon-Neptune sextile in late afternoon suggests a swim or a movie. The upcoming solar eclipse in Cancer, your solar fourth house, suggests you may host a wedding at home, or see a family member married off before the end of the year.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 8:29 pm Monday till early Thursday. A Moon-Pluto trine early Tuesday favors purposely molding your subconscious to support your will; tired of making excuses to do or not do things? Mock them in a funny voice with silly body movements, and you will not take them seriously again. Honest, try it! Wednesday morn is a bit better than the afternoon; squares to Venus and Neptune late in the day mean that you think a female family member is dreaming so much pie-in-the-sky, and not in touch with reality. Tell her how the real world works.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from 3:51 am Thursday till Saturday morn. You may not feel so great when you wake up, but the day soon takes a upswing. The morning is really quite terrific with Jupiter and humorous Uranus boosting your spirits. The Moon squares Mars midday Friday; this is the hurry-up-and-wait syndrome, or sometimes the rush through it once and then spend the rest of the day doing it over syndrome. Resolve on Saturday to establish you ideals, your castles in the air if you will; then build a foundation underneath them. That is the message of aspects to Neptune and then to Saturn early that day.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – Mercury in Cancer is inconjunct Neptune in mid-afternoon Thursday; you may have to edit muddled contracts, or wade through misprints in a new insurance policy. The Moon is in Cancer from 7:38 am Saturday and remains thru the weekend. You may have to spend Saturday morning working overtime, so make hay while the sun shines. Try not to feel resentful of your spouse’s demands for attention that afternoon; after all, he/she needs quality time, too. Sunday afternoon presents opportunities to exercise for fun, so run or swim with loved ones. A New Moon solar eclipse marks July 11, at 19 degrees Cancer. Note whatever changes in your life begin at this time, and jump on new opportunities. You might decide to open a local restaurant in partnership.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – Venus in Leo opposes Neptune late Thursday; this is the martyr syndrome. Avoid idealized notions about a person, relationship or even a job. Instead, find out the real facts from interviewing those who’ve known the person longer than you. Can you handle the truth? Mercury in Leo trines Uranus in Aries on Friday evening; this is much more favorable for uncovering the facts. Better to wait till Friday to learn the truth, than to spend the rest of the year ruing your impulsiveness. Legal or college expenses may be higher than expected Saturday. Venus moves into your second house this week; a careful and steady effort to watch expenses will improve your peace of mind.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – Venus enters the sign Virgo at 7:32 am Saturday and promptly sextiles the Moon which has just entered Cancer. Venus in Virgo has an unfortunate fixation on trying to always be right in social situations. Hon, the only person who can rightly be judged by you is Yourself. Hold YOURSELF to your own high standards of service, and you will enjoy satisfaction and personal integrity. The Solar Eclipse in Cancer is in your solar eleventh house of friends; a friend may become much, much more than that. And couples who esteem their spouses as their best friends, usually stay married for the long term.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – Mercury enters Leo on Friday, your solar eleventh house of friends. Communications take an uptick, although messages may sound more like royal decrees instead of casual conversation. Perhaps you need to remind friends that ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ grease the social wheels. The Solar Eclipse in Cancer impacts your solar tenth house of career. You may go on a tear and really make an impact in your profession, far more than you thought possible. A job begun under this eclipse can grow into something big, or at least be a stepping stone to bigger things.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – Mercury enters Leo, your solar tenth house of career. You begin to find ways of promoting yourself. Haven’t you tried Craigslist yet, or made a business page on Facebook? Your business phone will suddenly ring off the hook as you fill your appt. book. Venus enters your solar eleventh house on Saturday; fond friends look you up, to your delight. You do each other favors, and enjoy sweets or music together. Seek out some free summer concerts in the park, or jam in your own basement. The Solar Eclipse will occur on July 11 in your solar ninth house of law, publishing, politics, and religion. Juno’s presence close by suggests that your spouse may be a partner in any project related to those fields.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – Thursday promises to be quite auspicious if at places where people have fun, such as amusement parks, sports events, sports bars, gaming houses. Mercury enters your solar ninth house on Friday, and news may come any time in the next month in connection with a legal or publishing matter. Venus enters Virgo on Saturday, in your solar tenth house of career. A bonus may come your way, or some other favor or tip. You will have to work very hard and be very meticulous, though. The Solar Eclipse in Cancer occurs in your solar eighth house. A family business may be passed down to you, or some other legacy falls into your hands.

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – Best days this week have the Moon in compatible Taurus, from Monday night thru Wednesday. Let a romantic interest practice a holistic treatment on you Monday night. Wednesday morning favors both communications in general and a brunch with your significant other. The New Moon solar eclipse on July 11 occurs in your solar seventh house of partners. Perhaps you have not been quite ready till now to consider complicating your life with messy relationships, but be brave. You may meet someone through a law or publishing contact.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – An after-work social hour is indicated by Monday’s moon aspect, probably at a local bar. Mercury enters your opposite sign this week; your spouse or partner may try to out-talk you, but you need to gently set him or her straight that you are not a flunky. Wednesday may be tense at home; you may feel that a family member is totally unrealistic, and you may be right. Best days this week have the Moon in compatible Gemini, Thurs-Fri. Thursday is very auspicious for gaining through friends, perhaps at parties or sports venues.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – Best days this week have the Moon in compatible Taurus and in Cancer. Monday night, let a friend practice a holistic healing technique on you. The New Moon solar eclipse of July 11 occurs in your solar fifth house of fun, creativity, children, and romance. The Moon sextiles Mars in your solar seventh house definitely puts the action in your house of partners. However, Neptune on your shoulder is throwing dust in your eyes, so be careful which person becomes the object of your affections. You may be better off with an older person, to judge from another sextile to Saturn.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
