Your Milky Way Horoscope April 10-16, 2011

April 3, 2011 at 5:59 pm

  By Milky Way Maid

Mars at 7 degrees Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn at 4:41 pm Monday. War drums are beating. Pres. Obama has been saber-rattling about Libya, who has not posed any direct threat to us and has not attacked us. Pallas Athena is sextile Mars, also Juno at 15 Virgo was recently inconjunct that Aries stellium — so I wonder if Madame Hillary talked him into this ill-advised move. Threatening an invasion of this north-African country is just playing into the hands of the oil speculators (Neptune just entered Pisces on April 4), and angers all its Muslim neighbors. (Mars and Pluto both are associated with the military, Mars with the police as well.) Saturn opposes retrograde Mercury, Mars and Jupiter; I don’t see any military operation going well under those aspects. Intel might be inaccurate yet again, or the American people may be lied to (yet again).

Retrograde Mercury and Jupiter are conjunct at 17 degrees of Aries at 11:59 pm Monday. Jupiter is the higher octave of Mercury in terms of education; Mercury is practical how-to knowledge, and Jove is theoretical knowledge, such as in college or in research labs. You may be able to efficiently organize a plan, but take not to overlook important details! Retrograde Mercury can bite you in the behind if you do. You may think you are infallible, but ha, ha, Mercury the trickster laughs at you.

Hey folks, I was being facetious when I suggested that the Aries ingress chart (March 20) shows people marrying for money. Lighten up a little, we need a few jokes in these tense times.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – Pallas and Vesta are in your solar eleventh house of friends now, Pallas till late Aug. and Vesta for most of the year. Friends offer excellent advice and help, and can also help you with security issues. With the enormous planetary energies in your sign this year, you may be able to barter valuable services with these friends. Wednesday has very favorable aspects for a pleasant dinner with your romantic other, so even if you have to take off work early, go for it.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – Pallas and Vesta are in your solar tenth house for an extended period (Pallas till late Aug. and Vesta for most of the year). You may be the go-to person at work, or start your own consulting agency. Security at work may be a concern, so guard your passwords and secure your files. Moon in Leo on Wednesday favors family time at meals, so whip up their fave dishes and pull out some nice china.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – Pallas and Vesta are in your solar ninth house for an extended period (Pallas till late Aug. and Vesta for most of the year). You may find an excellent lawyer or advocate (Pallas) for issues that need to be resolved. Also you might talk to a security (Vesta) consultant or other advisor regarding identity theft or related issues. Better to be cautious, so secure your files and guard passwords. Wednesday has very pleasant aspects for visiting a local attraction or bookstore; check local schedules for open houses or fundraiser dinners.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer as the week begins, and stays till Monday night. The Moon square Mars at daybreak Sunday makes you impatient; careful not to burn or break things. The afternoon isn’t much better with a Moon square Saturn; this can make you feel cramped, crowded or poor, but it does help keep your nose to the grindstone. Monday’s morning commute can be tense under a Sun-Moon square. Check your own work that day because while the Mercury-Jupiter conjunction can speed things along, Mercury retrograde can cause you miss important details.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from11:37 pm Monday, till the wee hours Thursday. Be especially diligent Monday, when the retrograde Mercury conjunction with Jupiter can magnify errors; it’s in your solar ninth house ruling legal matters, college, and publishing. The Moon is inconjunct Pluto midday Tuesday; you might find some creative way to cope with a lack of control over some matter. Your energy will be good that afternoon with a Mars trine; speak up for your rights. Wednesday also has favorable trines am and pm; schedule important interviews but be prepared.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from 2:40 am Thursday, till the wee hours Saturday. The Moon opposes Chiron in Pisces Thursday morn; a practitioner may tell you what you don’t want to hear, but it will be good advice. Friday morning will be spent making adjustments or altering appointments. Venus in the solar seventh house Friday afternoon favors a romantic supper with the object of your desire. Juno is in your sign now, and will be there thru most of July. You elect to take a supportive role for your mate, and the personal rewards are worth it.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 2:59 am Saturday and stays thru the weekend. Make plans for the weekend that do not depend on your partner’s presence; he/she may be called away and you will think bad thoughts about him/her. The afternoon brings a sense of helplessness, which is not at all like you. Saturday night, though, is great for attending a sporting event. You will really get into it. Fight off the blues at night with some pampering. Pallas and Vesta spend an extended visit in your fifth house of romance and creativity; enlist a matchmaking service or wedding planner.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in compatible Cancer Sun-Mon. There’s a lot of squares, though, to Aries in your solar sixth house of health. The emphasis may be on diagnosing nagging problems or just taking care of yourself. You’re not immortal, you know, as much as you like to think you are. Take good medical advice and try not to whine. Vesta is in your solar fourth house of home almost till the end of the year, so you may elect to spend a great deal of time alone, at home. You always value privacy, and Vesta just emphasizes that. Security may also be on your mind, but don’t go overboard. Shred personal papers that you no longer need.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – Lots of energy, again, in your solar fifth house Aries. But use caution because one, Mercury is retrograde so you need to check things out, and two, Mars in Aries is square wipeout Pluto, exact on Monday. You could put everything on a gamble and come a cropper. Or you could get involved with a romantic entanglement who only wants your money. So enlist a steady friend that you can rely on to give you honest advice.

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – Mercury-Jupiter in your solar fourth house favors hosting foreigners or exchange students in your home. Just lay out the ground rules ahead of time so everyone is on the same page as to what you expect of him/her. Do you want a security deposit against any damages? Are you laying down a curfew? Does the guest expect the use of a car? All of these are questions that should be worked out ahead of time. But after all that, hosting can be a wonderfully enriching experience for all.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – The asteroids Pallas and Vesta are both in your sign as of this week. Pallas is the advocate and ombudsman, and people may look to you for advice and guidance. You have a lot of contacts so put in a good word for someone. Vesta is security-minded but also just wants privacy, some alone time. You may want to install a nice safe in the house, or create a screened area of the patio just for you and your mate. Aries energy will provide the muscle, just be safety conscious as always.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – With Uranus in your solar second house now, you will have to expect unexpected expenses. (say that 3 times fast) Lay aside some emergency funds now. Ceres in your sign provides just what you need, but usually not much more. And with Mercury retrograde in your second house, projects may need to be redone, or quotes may not be accurate. Hang on to receipts. Avoid borrowing from friends, as that always presents the risk of losing a friendship. Moon in your opposite sign Thur-Fri presents a mate who is ill at ease and irritated by rescheduled appts, etc.

Next up: The New Moon on April 3 will conjunct some asteroids in my sixth house Aries. Hope this brings a job offer or a great new medical practitioner. Followup: I have applied for a job although it is not near enough that I would seriously consider the commute. Have a doctor appointment for April 4, so we will have to see what this doc can do for me.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
