Your Milky Way Horoscope April 17-23, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

Sunday, April 17 is not only Palm Sunday, it is also a Full Moon, this month at 27 degrees 44 minutes of Libra. It is exact at 10:44 pm ET. No aspects occur between this FM and when the Moon enters Scorpio at 2:19 am Monday; in other words the Moon immediately goes void-of-course. However, earlier Sunday we have the Moon opposing Mercury and Jupiter, and inconjunct Venus in Pisces. Other aspects in force are the applying Mars-Saturn opposition (exact on Monday). Negotiations are not favored, tho you can gain insights into yourself. You want to be generous, but resist if others demand generosity from you. Do not rush into anything; others who seem to block you may be trying to get you to see other options.

Mars at 12 degrees Aries opposes a retrograde Saturn in Libra at 12:02 pm Monday. Be prepared to accept that some projects in their final stages may totally fail now. Mars-Saturn aspects can denote accidents, but more often they denote arguments, frustrations, delays, ‘roadblocks’ of some kind, etc. Let your stumbling blocks be stepping stones, as they say, tho easier said than done. Find the lesson, and learn from it.

Retrograde Mercury is conjunct Mars at 13 degrees of Aries at 10:58 am Tuesday. Thirteen degrees of cardinal signs is one of the critical degrees; things will really shake loose and start happening, possibly even before the aspect is exact. Check if it contacts or aspects a natal planet, natal house cusp or progressed planet or house cusp. Mercury-Mars conjunctions often put a huge emotional wallop into our spoken expression, sometimes to the point of shouting matches. Retrograde Mercury means things may slip out that you were trying to conceal. Opposing Saturn means that there is no sympathetic listener, to say the least. Relationships can founder and partners walk out on each other. Please, Jupiter nearby gives you the option to seek counseling and learn other ways of communicating with each other. Also bear in mind that Mercury will chase Mars and catch it again for another conjunction, in Taurus, on May 20.

The Sun enters Taurus at 6:17 am Wednesday. Happy birthday to all the Tauri out there. A Sun in Taurus usually lends natives a pleasing voice and a love of beauty and the good things in life. They generally try to prove their worth by accumulating material goods, altho they do also have non-material values. Taurus likes to be comfortable! A good chair, a foot rest, a good supper, a cuppa decent coffee or tea or something stronger, these are the things that keep them happy. They are willing to work very hard for their pay. They can uplift others with their talents, altho too often they leave them unused in favor of something that delivers a steady paycheck.

This ingress features the Sun rising (Ascendant is 19 degrees Taurus in Minnesota) in a crowded twelfth house. The Sun is inconjunct a seventh-house Moon in Sag; changes gotta be made in relationships, especially male-female relationships. You represent a female ideal to the general public in some way. The Sun sextiles Neptune in Pisces, and squares the MC. Ruler Venus is conjunct Uranus and squares the nodes; a romantic entanglement with a foreigner or eccentric person may not pan out, but may provide the soul growth that you seek. A T-square is still in effect with Mercury in Aries, Pluto in Capricorn, and Saturn in Libra. Stress can affect your health (Mercury and Saturn are on the health axis), so take measures to relieve stress with walks, music, massages, bubble baths or anything else that will help soothe you.

The Sun in Taurus sextiles Neptune at zero degrees Pisces at 4:43 pm Wednesday. Study spiritual matters or meditate; you are more attuned to the cosmos now. Physical energy may not be high, so if you want to exercise, try swimming, tai chi, yoga, dance, or the arts such as painting or photography.

Venus enters Aries at 12:06 am Thursday. Venus in Aries can run hot and cold romantically. Venus here has a gift for taking the initiative in social situations, introducing others, sending out invites, being a real mover and shaker type. Has a knack for developing the initiative and skills of others. Likes to show others how-to techniques and tips so that everyone can become as self-reliant as Aries.

Venus joins Uranus at 2 degrees Aries at 10:28 pm Friday (Good Friday, Earth Day). Can be a day to fall in love, hard, with a foreigner or eccentric person. May not last but it will sure be interesting. Can be a good day for investing decisions if you have investigated your options. Looking for excitement? Expect the unexpected.

And at long last, Mercury goes direct at 6:04 am Saturday, at 12 degrees, 54 minutes Aries. Again, this is another critical degree in a cardinal sign (13 degrees). Check if it contacts or aspects a natal planet, natal house cusp or progressed planet or house cusp. The news may report a major event. Personal expression takes off, and you may finally find the right venue for self-expression, whether its a blog site, your own website, Facebook, a novel or screenplay, nightclub or coffee house, a song, etc.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – The Mercury-Mars conjunction in Aries on Tuesday is inconjunct Juno in Virgo, your solar sixth house of health. The spouse of someone you know may refer you to the health practitioner you need to see. Venus enters Aries on Thursday; compliments and favors come your way, if you ask nicely. It’s a favorable week also for going to a salon for a new look; however Friday’s Venus-Uranus conjunction may end up in a very far-out look or a new color. Pallas and Vesta are both in your eleventh house of friends till fall; maintain contacts and keep networking because some key people will come your way thru friends.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – The Moon in your opposite sign, Scorpio, Mon-Tues favors relationships and being in the public eye. Monday morn favors seeing a medical practitioner, under a trine to Chiron. A late night excursion with a friend on Tuesday could turn romantic, or just be a good time to exchange gifts. Best days this week may be Friday-Saturday, when the moon is in compatible Capricorn. Sun in Taurus trines Moon in Cappy mid-morning Friday; business matters should go smoothly, especially if related to college, law, publishing or the internet.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – The Full Moon in Libra this Sunday accents your solar fifth house of fun, romance, and creativity. Possibly a writer friend becomes a romantic interest. Don’t miss club meetings where a guest speaker appears. Venus enters Aries this week, and Aries is your solar eleventh house of friends and clubs. You could also take a turn at club bookkeeper or help raise funds for the group. Your ruler Mercury goes direct on Saturday, and I bet you just can’t wait. Catch up on all the gossip and news with dear ones.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – Venus moves into your solar tenth house of career this week; bonuses may awarded to you, or you gain special privileges. You must have been making yourself indispensable again. Sun enters your eleventh house of friends and clubs; you may run for officer or board member of one of your clubs. The Libra Full Moon on Sunday accents your solar fourth house of home and family; job duties may have kept you away from family too much, or vice versa, so now your task is to balance the two roles.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – Venus enters Aries this week, in your solar ninth house of law, college, publishing and the internet; a cash settlement, royalty, or rebate may come your way. The Sun enters your solar tenth house of career; you may get a promotion to an executive slot, or represent the company in some way. Best days may be with Moon in Sag, Wed-Thurs. A trine to Uranus on Wednesday helps you profit from internet searches or using a new electronic toy. Energetic grand trines in fire will take shape Thursday with your natal Leo planets; time to lead and inspire, and also show them how to enjoy life.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – A Full Moon Sunday accents Libra, your solar second house. Teaching is probably your best bet right now to increase your cash flow. It doesn’t have to be through a school system; you can give classes at a craft store or community center. With the Sun entering your solar ninth house, though, you might gain a foothold with a local college. Moon in Capricorn on Fri-Sat are probably your best days this week. There’s a lot of squares, but that just helps you get something going.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra as the week begins with a Full Moon, and stays till early Monday. Communication (Mercury) will be the keyword on this full moon, possibly with the aid of a counselor (Jupiter). And with Mercury going direct Saturday, let’s hope that interpersonal expression improves. Just try to get past Monday’s Mars-Saturn opposition; that is sure to be frustrating. Venus enters your solar seventh house Aries, bringing a welcome sense of lovingness and appreciation for (and from) your partner. Things are looking up.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 2:19 am Monday till Wednesday morn. Moon trines Neptune in your solar fifth house in the wee hours Monday; the best thing would be if you merely had a romantic dream. Am a bit leery of Neptune in the fifth because new beaux may not be what they claim to be, and investment schemes may be bogus. So check out everything. Protect your health and use moderation in everything; devise a schedule (Saturn) for yourself. Arguments can impact your health, especially on Tuesday.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 2:50 am Wednesday till Friday morn. A trine to Uranus during the Wednesday commute can bring insight, possibly from a radio show. Best day is Thursday, with the Moon trining Mercury, Mars and Jupiter from early morn to midday. Do a presentation or interview. Sun enters your solar sixth house of health; Taurus is a durable if lazy sign there. Perhaps gardening would be a suitable form of exercise; it really does burn calories and exercise lots of muscle groups. Venus entering your solar fifth house brings romance and artistic sensibility to the house of art, love, creativity and children. Keep the kids busy with crafts, and their expressiveness will inspire your own projects.

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 6:24 am Friday till midday next Sunday. Conflict with a female family member or house-guest can get Friday morn off to a rough start. But mid-morning looks great with an easy trine to your solar fifth house; a child may make you proud as can be. Protect your health and watch what you eat that day. Saturday looks very challenging with cardinal T-square but perhaps you have projects lined up for yourself. In that case, on your mark, get set, go.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Aries-Libra oppositions on Sunday work in your favor because they become trines and sextiles to your natal planets; you may act as a go-between or broker and collect honest fees for your services. The Libra moon is compatible with your sun sign, helping you find teammates in work and play. Venus enters your solar third house, bringing welcome cards and other signs of appreciation. The Sun enters Taurus, your solar fourth house of home and family. You make more quality time with family members, now that spring is here. Possibly a veggie garden becomes a family project, plus a few flowers for the soul.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – Best days this week may be Mon-Tues, when the Moon is in compatible Scorpio. A late date Tuesday night takes advantage of a Moon-Venus trine in water signs. The Sun enters Taurus, your solar third house of communications this week. Taurus as a communicator is not generally a big talker, preferring actions, touch, and possibly music to carry the load. So it is possible that music clips may be swapped online, or you and friends barter for CDs, foot rubs, or other services.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
