Your Milky Way Horoscope May 1-7, 2011
By Milky Way Maid
Mars and Jupiter are conjunct at 22 degrees of Aries at 12:26 am Sunday, May 1. These two planets when conjunct or even square can denote risk-taking, fortunately with Jupiter protecting the risk-taker from the worst that could happen (but best not to count on that, folks). People may buy handfuls of lottery tickets, take off for the wide blue yonder without filing a flight plan, go to Vegas, gamble on a penny stock, go over Niagara Falls in a barrel, etc. You get the idea. Please, file the flight plan, have a plan B for whatever, and if gambling, keep to your established stop-loss amount.
The Sun at 11 degrees of Taurus is inconjunct Saturn in Libra at 9:34 am Monday. You have been chafing at restrictions or the lack of some necessities, but now you have an opportunity to figure out some way of adapting more happily to your situation. You could experience an easing of said restrictions and lacks. Perhaps you arrange to barter or trade with others, or find an inexpensive alternative to your usual purchases.
The New Moon is at 2:51 am Tuesday, at 12 degrees, 31 minutes of Taurus. The Sun-Moon are inconjunct Saturn, so let’s hope that you manage to make do with less, and do it more successfully. Sun-Moon are trine Pluto, helping you to take control of your life again. (Perhaps you also get a little help from friends in high places.) Sun-Moon are also square Pallas and Vesta in Aquarius; a lawyer, advisor, or advocate may be able to help you resolve problems, although you will have to set things in motion. So keep asking around for someone or some agency that may be able to help.
Taureans might do a candle lighting, and sit down to write out their Venus-ruled wishes for the month, such as ‘to find beauty everywhere’ or ‘to hear beautiful music’ or even ‘to pay off X loan or debt so that Y will finally be truly yours.’
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.
ARIES – March 20-April 19 – The month and the week begin with the Moon in Aries till the wee hours of Monday. Arians will feel unusually confident and daring Sunday morning, maybe daring enough to try a new sport. The Moon joins Jupiter and then Mars in late morning; you could desire to expand your personal sphere of influence, reaching out to new groups of people. The Taurus New Moon is in your solar second house, where it accents your earning power and helps you accumulate quality items that will last a long time. Mars in your sign trines the North Node in Sag; your hard work pays off in a personal sense of accomplishment.
TAURUS – April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from 1:58 am Monday till midday Wednesday. The Moon trines Pluto in late afternoon Monday; you might find a lucky silver charm, or charm others with your mysterious powers. The New Moon is at 12 degrees of Taurus on Tuesday. You might do a candle lighting, and sit down to write out your Venus-ruled wishes for the month, such as ‘to find beauty everywhere’ or ‘to hear beautiful music’ or even ‘to pay off X loan or debt so that Y will finally be truly yours.’ Since it is in your solar first house, perhaps you want to express Taurus energy thru music, physical comforts, and home cooking.
GEMINI – May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from 1:09 pm Wednesday till late Friday. The Moon squares Neptune mid-afternoon Wednesday; put off sales people and do not do any personal business while under this fuzzy influence. A sextile to Uranus after work favors getting together with friends for some laughs. The Moon trines Saturn midday Thursday, ideal for getting lots of work done and achieving goals. The Moon sextiles Venus and Mercury, then Jupiter, on Friday morning. Ask for favors, or help out coworkers. The Moon sextiles Mars mid-afternoon, giving you extra energy for work or play.
CANCER – June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer from 10:32 pm Friday thru the weekend. The Moon trines Neptune very late Friday, favoring a mini-film festival from the comfort of your sofa. A Moon-Uranus square early Saturday can be quite upsetting; don’t get so distracted by an upset that you cause accidents. Walk around the block or pull weeds rather than drive somewhere. The Moon opposes Pluto midday; this is an instance of projecting onto your partner an image of being an over-controlling ‘other’. Stop projecting that energy and send out thoughts of cooperation instead. Saturn causes feelings of frustration that night, but this is only temporary and you can still accomplish a lot. The New Moon in Taurus accents your solar eleventh house of friends and clubs.
LEO – July 23-Aug. 22 – Mercury and Venus are moving toward a conjunction this week in Aries, your solar ninth house of law, college, publishing and the internet. You may finally see some earnings accrue from your website, be awarded a scholarship or tuition grant, or receive an advance on a your new book. If you have natl planets in late Leo, you may enjoy a grand trine with Mars in Aries and the North Node in Sag. The New Moon in Taurus accents your solar tenth house of career.
VIRGO – Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Juno in your sign opposes Ceres; you may be called on to apply what you know about proper nutrition to your spouse’s diet. He/she may not exactly welcome all these strange foods, but I think that in time, your spouse will thank you dearly. The North Node has entered your solar fourth house, BTW, opening up opportunities to work out of your home and save on gas. The New Moon in Taurus accents your solar ninth house of law, college, publishing, and the internet.
LIBRA – Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Saturn in your sign trines Vesta in Aquarius, suggesting that you have a deep need for stability, privacy and security in your life right now. Pallas is also near Vesta, so you are possibly getting some good advice and help from a lawyer, advocate, or social worker. Venus and Mercury move toward a conjunction in your solar seventh house of partners; your spouse is especially charming and witty this month, so enjoy. The New Moon in Taurus accents your solar eighth house of insurance and estate matters.
SCORPIO – Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Pallas and Vesta transit your solar fourth house, squaring the New Moon; a realtor may finally help you locate the home of your dreams. The New Moon in Taurus accents your solar seventh house of partners and the public. Neptune has entered your solar fifth house of romance, joining Ceres already in progress. Neptune signifies someone who may be involved in film, wineries or the horse business, or negatively, someone who is not what they claim to be. Ceres probably means that he or she is a good cook, so be sure to express appreciation for the lovely meal.
SAGITTARIUS – Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The North Node in your sign trines Mars in Aries in your solar fifth house; you do quite well at games and sports, perhaps you will surprise even yourself at how well you do. Neptune has moved into Pisces, your solar fourth house. Uh oh, keep a sharp eye out for leaks of all kinds. Pay attention if your spouse notifies you of a job opening somewhere; he or she may latch onto just the right place for your talents. The New Moon in Taurus accents your solar sixth house of health and work.
CAPRICORN – Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Your home life is especially pleasant with Mercury and Venus merging in Aries, your solar fourth house. You might even play host to an exchange student. Juno in your ninth house is making aspects to several other asteroids, so I suspect that your spouse puts you in contact with the right advisors/lawyers/brokers that you need to sort through your personal business. The New Moon in Taurus accents your solar fifth house of fun, love and creativity. Yes, even Cappy needs love.
AQUARIUS – Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Mercury and Venus move toward a conjunction in Aries, your solar third house; take a short trip, with a sweetheart if your have one — or keep an eye out for a new love on this trip. New places, new faces, you know. Mercury and Venus are sextile the asteroids Vesta and Pallas in your own sign; perhaps you give a fellow traveler an assist, or vice versa. The travel agent might be rather interesting, too. The New Moon in Taurus accents your solar fourth house of home and family.
PISCES – Feb. 18-March 19 – Neptune has entered your sign; you may notice yourself getting lost more often than usual, or feeling a bit spacey tho perfectly sober. You may benefit from grounding yourself by working a garden, keeping to a strict schedule, or by disciplines such as yoga or tai chi. Ceres and Chiron have been moving almost in lockstep thru your sign, explaining your interest in food issues and natural healing; they are opposite Juno, suggesting this might even be an avenue for a mom-and-pop business. The New Moon in Taurus accents your solar third house of communications, relatives, and neighbors.
