Your Milky Way Horoscope June 26-July 2, 2011
By Milky Way Maid
The Moon, exalted in Taurus, is conjunct Jupiter at 4 degrees Taurus at 1:07 am Sunday. What a wonderful opportunity for night owls especially, but anyone can light a candle and make a wish for their fondest desire late the night before. You can put your case to others with positive results, especially with women (so this is actually a fine time to propose if you are involved with someone). If this aspect affects your fourth house, it favors moves to a new residence.
The Moon trines powerful Pluto at 6 degrees Capricorn at 5:22 am Sunday. Whenever I see the Moon and Pluto, I think, “silver charm” because the Moon rules silver, and Pluto is power objects and overcoming the perceived limitations (power vs. powerlessness) of one’s life. Your emotions may be very intense, difficult to handle; but at the same time perhaps you need the release of music, art or journaling or whatever works for you.
The Sun in Cancer squares Uranus at 4 degrees Aries at 6:13 am Sunday. What an eventful morning, astrologically speaking. This aspect will shake you out of your rut, like it or not. Go ahead and break your routine, take a different route home, try a new restaurant. Just be advised that Uranus can cause accidents whether from distraction or whatever, so do drive defensively and alertly. If upset (related to the Moon-Pluto trine above), it is best NOT to drive at all.
We have a New Moon Friday, July 1, at 4:54 am, at 9 degrees, 12 minutes of Cancer. This is a partial Solar Eclipse, the partner to the total lunar eclipse of June 15 at 24 degrees Sag. The Moon is conjunct Sun of course, and square Saturn in Libra. This may be a tough time for many of us, not only because of the square to Saturn but because the last major aspect was Moon opposite Pluto. So the powers that be are inclined to say no, no and no. Minnesota is threatening to shut down government offices in a standoff over the budget, and this eclipse does not bode well for a last-minute compromise. I regret I do not have any chart for the state, so I have no idea of the specifics of the transits.
Mercury enters Leo at 1:38 am Saturday. Mercury in Leo is quite a persuasive speaker, with the combination of Mercury (ruling the mind) and Leo (ruling the heart). This Leo may be a fine leader in politics or the military, being well suited to command. You may write (and perform) speeches or plays, or teach, or emcee. The only drawback is sometimes a tendency to boast and brag — not that you don’t have anything worth bragging about, but it is just unseemly. Useful in a job interview, though.
The Sun in Cancer squares Saturn at 10 degrees Libra at 8:17 pm Saturday. Sun square Saturn symbolizes frustrations and not being able to exert one’s will in a given situation. Patience, in patience one possesses one’s soul, to coin a phrase. I know, we all want everything now, but some things just need time to germinate and grown to the point where we can harvest them. This aspect is preceded by 22 minutes by a Moon-Mercury conjunction, meaning that some of us will probably ask a favor of a friend or relative. Well, with Saturn square the Sun, it is ‘no can do.’ Wait for a better opportunity to ask your favor. I think that some of us will be dealing with separations and endings, but it is only for a blink in time.
Looking ahead to the long holiday weekend, the Moon is in Leo on the third and Fourth, expressing the fun of fireworks and parades and any events oriented towards the children in the family. On the Fourth, Venus enters Cancer in the wee hours, enhancing the love of country, home and family. We will enjoy family outings and feel a tug at the heartstrings when the flag passes by in a parade. Venus in Cancer also suggests that many of us will just stay at home, cocooning inside our beloved homes (if we still have one after these last few years of a disastrous mortgage situation and foreclosures). Venus trines Neptune, affirming our hopes for upholding the best ideals that this country has ever embraced.
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.
ARIES – March 20-April 19 – The Moon-Jupiter conjunction in your solar second house early Sunday may prompt overspending; check your bank balance before shopping. Monday’s Mars-Uranus sextile may prompt a battle of words; defend your turf but overlook the small stuff. Be careful how you phrase things early Tuesday, since Neptune is waiting to pounce on anyone who shoots himself in the foot. Mars and the Moon in your solar third house on Wednesday can mean emotional outbursts from associates; your sense of humor can defuse the situation. Saturday brings Mercury in compatible Leo in your solar fifth house, helping you perform, entertain, or maybe charm the object of your desire.
TAURUS – April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus as the week begins till early Tuesday. The Moon-Jupiter conjunction in the wee hours Sunday, plus a trine to Pluto at dawn, will prompt you to break down limitations and expand your inner circle to include powerful people. A Mercury aspect midday Monday favors reaching out and touching somebody dear to you. The Moon and Mars in your solar second house on Tues-Wed may try to get you to add to debt; try to resist that and watch out for fees, too. The Moon in Cancer on Thursday makes easy trines and sextiles; make time for friends or relatives.
GEMINI – May 21-June 20 – Hanging out with friends on Sunday could prove lucky; the Moon-Jupiter conjunction in your solar eleventh house could make you the beneficiary of his or her generosity. The Moon is in Gemini from 3:56 am Tuesday till midday Thursday. The Moon squares Neptune and Chiron in Pisces Wednesday, which may force you to pay attention to your health. There’s the potential for a health crisis here, but I can’t know for sure if this transit will touch natal planets or not. Play it safe, anyway, and guard your health.
CANCER – June 21-July 22 – Sun in Cancer trines Chiron in Pisces early Monday; swimming or water therapies may prove beneficial. The Moon is in Cancer from 12:13 pm Thursday till Saturday evening. You may feel like going to the beach or other watery environs when the Moon trines Neptune in Pisces midday Thursday. The Uranus square may affect work and career Thursday. Cheer yourself up with a jovial Taurus friend that night. The New Moon solar eclipse in your sign on Friday squares Saturn in Libra; you may face some frustrations for the short term at least, possibly in relation to home or family.
LEO – July 23-Aug. 22 – Sunday’s Moon-Jupiter conjunction in Taurus favors career matters, so on Sunday-Monday make a point to promote yourself, network or give speeches. Mercury enters your sign early Saturday, helping you be more effective in speeches or performing. The Moon is in Leo from 5:43 pm Saturday thru the weekend. Be careful around water Saturday, since Neptune is troublesome. A Moon-Mercury conjunction about 8 pm Saturday helps you emcee or orate successfully. A Moon-Uranus trine overnight gleams on all late holiday celebrations.
VIRGO – Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Sunday’s Moon-Jupiter conjunction in Taurus favors ninth house stuff such as legal dealings. Monday may bring a positive judgment in your favor. The early part of the week is busy at work and at home. The Moon in Cancer Thur-Sat offers water fun with friends; a late call from your lawyer can bring favorable news, too. Your holiday plans may include just holing up by yourself, possibly camping in a rustic hideaway, but avoiding all the noise and traffic of the city.
LIBRA – Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in compatible Gemini Tues-Wed but snags may develop over confused messages or instructions. Your energy is high, though and you may get sage advice from a mentor-type or expert. You will probably set deadlines for yourself regarding work that has to be done before the holiday weekend; you will probably make your goals but give yourself proper breaks. And enjoy the weekend. Mercury enters Leo Saturday in your solar house of friends; a higher volume of messages may fly between you and friends, and you may avail yourself of the services of one who can host or emcee an upcoming event.
SCORPIO – Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Sunday’s Moon-Jupiter conjunction in Taurus favors dealings with the public and with women (and with spouses). If you have plans to reach out and expand your inner circle a bit, this is a fine time to do so. Moon in compatible Cancer on Thur.-Sat offers fun with water sports and your mate, just be safety-conscious as always. The Saturn square on Friday just cuts off the fun sooner than you would like. Mercury enters your solar tenth house Leo on Saturday, helping you be a great representative for the company (or interview for a cool job).
SAGITTARIUS – Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – A Moon-Jupiter conjunction on Sunday in your solar sixth house may mean that overdoing the goodies can upset your health. Mars and the Moon in Gemini make an uncomfortable T-square with your natal planets on Tuesday; emotional outbursts are likely but try to be the voice of reason. Friends may have to cancel out of invites on Friday (or Saturday, too) due to circumstances beyond their control, to coin a phrase. Mercury enters compatible Leo Saturday, helping you plead your case in court or with a publisher successfully.
CAPRICORN – Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Sunday’s Moon-Jupiter conjunction in Taurus favors romance, the arts, and creativity in general. The Moon and Mars in your solar sixth house on Tuesday square Neptune and Chiron; dissension around you may upset your system. Everybody it seems will want to be the water on Thursday, your mate included, so play along and take a book if you insist, but I think you will like picnicking. Saturday night may be tense with the Sun-Saturn square making a T-square with your natal planets, someone may need your help to get things done before the holiday. It may be tough balancing your work and your family obligations but juggle the best than you can.
AQUARIUS – Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Sunday’s Moon-Jupiter conjunction in Taurus favors moves to a new abode, if you have plans to do so, or at least redecorate/renovate the current home. Try not to get drawn into Tuesday’s tense emotionalism; you are a cooler head that needs to prevail here. Mercury enters your solar opposite sign Leo on Saturday, possibly putting you in the spotlight as a public rep in some way. By the same token, your mate may be more vocal than usual; OK, so lend an ear and be the sympathetic spouse.
PISCES – Feb. 18-March 19 – Tuesday’s Moon and Mars in your sign squares Neptune, and your emotional histrionics make everyone run and hide. By Wednesday you will have a better grip on accepting reality, and on carrying out your obligations. Friday’s solar eclipse in Cancer, your solar fifth house of children and creative expression, runs smack into the Saturn square. Perhaps children cannot get away to join you this holiday weekend, and that makes you blue. Maybe they are even stationed far from home, or will move to another state. Well, both of you will grow new contacts to fill the gaps in your social lives. Meantime, Mercury enters your solar sixth house of work and health; your gift of gab may be useful in a sideline avocation.
