Your Milky Way Horoscope Oct. 30-Nov. 5, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

Venus in Scorpio squares Neptune at 28 degrees Aquarius at 5:19 pm Monday. Venus adversely aspecting Neptune can represent the “in love with love” frame of mind, the kind that thinks he and she are another Romeo and Juliet and no one understands that they just love each other and everything will be alright if they just let them be. Never mind that Romeo is a false beau and runs off with another woman or with her money, and no amount of saying “I told you so” will help matters.

Mercury squares Neptune at 4:37 am Tuesday; this is very much like the above except that one’s reasoning processes are confused. Errors in bookkeeping or other paperwork can crop up, and even if you know that your investment returns are not what they should be, you just can’t think what you should do; if you have a fallback strategy then go with that (ex: putting funds in a money-market account). Refrain from making major decisions or signing contracts.

Venus enters happy-go-lucky Sag at 4:51 am Wednesday. I can just see ever-hopeful Sag waking up Wednesday morning and looking out the window expecting the streets to be paved with gold. Venus in Sag is not the tenderest or most loyal beau. Venus here won’t sacrifice itself for love. This Venus hates to be tied down so do not look for commitment. Celebs with Venus in Sag include Joan Baez, Jane Fonda, Cary Grant, Johnny Carson, and Romy Schneider.

Mercury also enters Sag the same day, at 12:54 pm. Mercury in Sag is in its detriment, since it is opposite its home in Gemini. What does that mean, on a practical level? Mercury in Sag can be brilliant, but generally it cannot concentrate deeply on a subject any length of time. Ideas may be disconnected – people may even think you are spacey or have attention-deficit disorder. Mercury in Sag most often denotes people who say things off the top of their heads without considering their effect. Celebs with Mercury in Sag include singer Frank Sinatra, writer Rudyard Kipling, Marie Antoinette, saint Joan of Arc, actress Patty Duke, and songwriter Jule Styne.

Venus and Mercury square Chiron in Pisces on Wednesday night. I would say that it might not be a favorable day for an appointment; Mercury is not strong here and errors may crop up.

Venus and Mercury square Uranus at zero degrees of Aries at 3:54 am and 9:58 am Thursday, respectively. Venus square Uranus can coincide with a sudden attraction to unusual or foreign people, but it generally does not last very long. With Mercury, the mind may race so fast that sloppy work is the result. Best not to make financial decisions or moves today. You may be jittery, impulsive, even accident-prone. Heads up when driving!

Venus and Mercury are inconjunct Jupiter at one degree of Taurus at 2:52 and 5:13 pm Saturday, respectively. If you made notes to self on Thursday of your thoughts and calculations, now is a good time to go over them with a fine-tooth comb and check for errors. Then try to figure out what you need to do to get back to profitability or sound business practices. Establish stop-loss levels on investments, set up a personal or business accounting system, and so forth.

While Halloween is traditionally a time when the veil between the temporal and spiritual worlds thins, there may be an even better time to contact someone on the other side in November. Looking ahead in the ephemeris, Neptune is stationary direct at 28 degrees of Aquarius at 1:54 pm Wed., Nov. 9. A Neptune station is supposed to favor anything in the spiritual realm; also you might cocoon yourself with a stack of movie DVDs and live in a make-believe world for a few hours.

PS – I listed a few used astrology books for sale on Amazon Books (under seller name lauraalthea); Part Two was posted July 1! **Includes a classic Alan Leo book** Look for reviews in my column with a link to the listing. Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – The early part of the week may be happiest for you, with the Moon in compatible Sag. Uranus in your sign is getting some subtle transits this week. Juno entering Scorpio activates joint accounts, possibly bringing to light items that you did not know you two had. Pallas entering Aquarius signals meeting a professional person or consultant through a friend. BTW Jupiter in your solar second house of money benefits from a trine to Pluto; influential people at work can help you obtain lucrative assignments.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – Sunday night is prime for boon companions or entertaining associates. On Monday, your mate may look at you with a dreamy look in the eye; try not to pop his bubble. Late afternoon on Thursday may be stressful, with you caught in between family and work obligations. Saturday morn favors an outing with other couples or with that club you belong to. In the afternoon, you may have to improvise for mutual benefit.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – Mercury and Venus enter your opposite sign this week, so it is possible that you or your mate may be in the public eye or take a higher profile in the month to come. This month Pallas enters your solar ninth house, Aquarius, where a new lawyer or consultant can shake the trees effectively on your behalf. Your spouse (Juno entering Scorpio) may be instrumental in helping you with work or with selling your craft items, or you may start a business together.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – I am sorry to say that the long-term transit of Uranus in your solar tenth house of career may mean intermittent or temporary work assignments. However, if you are in electronics, psychology, or other unusual fields, this transit is perfect. Another hard transit has been Saturn in your solar fourth house of beloved home and family. Working long hours and not spending as much time as you’d like at home? Or downsizing to a condo/apt., or caring for extended family? Just one more year and then Saturn will decamp from that sector, then the home will seem more spacious and your family burdens lighter. Be brave.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – Mercury and Venus enter compatible Sag this week, favoring fun times with children, attending entertainment events, or expressing your creative talents. Take a class or play with paints on your own. The Moon in opposing Aquarius (Wed-Thurs) may find you in the public eye in some way; get ready for your closeups. Even your mate might not hang out at home, preferring her moment in the sun, too. Let’s not hog the spotlight, Leo, there is light enough to shine on all.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – A sibling or other relative may play matchmaker for you, possibly fixing you up with a wonderfully sympathetic and giving person. A male relative may be what you need to convert your hobby into a sideline business. Venus and Mercury enter your solar fourth house, where you may enjoy hosting a foreign-exchange student or just your children’s friends. Owning your own emotions, anger included, will defuse explosive situations.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – Your Halloween costume this year may be a work uniform of some kind, possibly a nurse. Venus and Mercury enter your solar third house of relatives this week; you may enjoy getting acquainted with young, multi-talented nieces and nephews. Your romantic life may suddenly blossom with fascinating lawyers or consultant types, and perhaps one of them is just what you need to resolve a difficult situation.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – On Monday afternoon, Venus in your sign wishes everyone would do the right thing, but this is real life. Still, you might try to get the city/county/whatever to do their duty. Early Tuesday morning, Mercury in your sign gets confusing signals from Neptune; make sure you are really awake before your commute, and confirm appointments before setting out. Late in the week a certain loss of privacy may be distressing, or stimulating; you decide. Saturday morn looks wonderful for fun, romance, or time with the kids.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag as the week begins, but only till midday Sunday. The Moon sextiles spiritual Neptune at 9:30 am, putting one in a receptive frame of mind for religious services or charitable work. Mercury and Venus enter your sign, favoring a visit to the salon and possibly an accountant. Ceres has been in your solar fourth house of home since August and will remain there thru the year; possibly you have been beavering away growing your own food or stashing supplies.

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 12:39 pm Sunday till Tuesday night (this includes Halloween). The afternoon could be upsetting with a square to Uranus; try not to take stuff personally. A nice trine to Jupiter lights up Sunday night so by all means entertain guests or go out on a date. The early morning of Tuesday could be discouraging, or you may have a lot of work to get done that day, so organize as much as you can the night before for a productive day. Looks good by afternoon, so you can do it.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from 6:08 pm Tuesday till early Friday. Tuesday evening favors comedy; see a funny movie or have friends over. Wednesday can be stressful and contentious; try to stay focused on goals not personalities. You can accomplish a great deal on Thursday, and may even get that pat on the back. Unwind that night with a movie or with a possibly with your study group.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from 3:18 am Friday till next Sunday afternoon. Friday morning might be stressful trying to figure out where your money went; keep your receipts to track spending. Lunch hour favors time spent with a wonderful, buoyant, optimistic relative. The afternoon favors a meeting with influential friends or organizations; see if your idea gathers any support for a group effort.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
