Your Milky Way Horoscope Jan. 6-12, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury at 9 degrees Capricorn is conjunct Pluto at 11:42 am Sunday. Favorable Mercury-Pluto aspects can be utilized in adopting a positive affirmation or mantra for the week to come. Mercury sextiles Saturn at 6:44 pm the same day, adding a layer of self-discipline to the mix of planetary energies. Mercury-Pluto is not very talkative, since you are busy turning over clues in your mind as you solve assorted mysteries. Mercury-Saturn is very serious and sticks to facts or number-crunching, sometimes they are in a role of authority such as teaching or running a seminar.
Mars at 10 degrees Aquarius squares Saturn in Scorpio at 2:33 pm Monday. Mars as a signifier of health may be challenged Monday by restrictions, poor health, being physically blocked from moving forward, etc. Yet the Mission comes first with Mars-Saturn aspects, so sick people may go in to work anyway. The aspect is also very organized; you get at the junk drawer, your purse, old files, and toss what is no longer needed.
Venus enters the sign Capricorn at 11:11 pm Tuesday. Venus in Capricorn is very disciplined and dutiful. She holds onto her looks better in Cappy than in possibly any other sign, since she is more careful to maintain her weight and make herself exercise. Venus in her rulership of values is a bit too socially ambitious in Capricorn for my taste, altho there are some with this placement who are so fearful of social rejection that do not even enter the fray. Venus in Capricorn does have a knack for manipulating physical resources to meet her needs. For example, she can budget well in order to meet a financial goal, she can see how to turn a tablecloth into a shawl or a dress, etc. Famous people with Venus in Capricorn include: Joan of Arc, Robert F. Kennedy, Richard Burton, Prince Andrew, and Caroline Kennedy.
Venus at 1 degree Capricorn sextiles Neptune in Pisces at 12:46 am Thursday. Sensitivity to music or other arts is high, and performers may be able to pull out a better performance than they thought they were capable of. You get going on creative projects. You might be a wee bit spacey, but you are just listening to higher vibrations today.
Venus at 5 degrees Capricorn squares Uranus in Aries at 11:13 pm Saturday. Venus-Uranus squares usually denote meeting a fascinating stranger, even falling in love with that stranger, but the square usually denotes a short-term relationship if any. Someone could suddenly propose, but think very carefully whether you would still like this person five years from now. Venus as ruler of financial issues can also find itself with a cash flow problem, or changing jobs.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Dec. 30-Jan. 5, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun at 9 degrees Capricorn is sextile Saturn in Scorpio at 12:45 pm Sunday. You may be honored or recognized for an accomplishment, or you may feel a quiet satisfaction over what you have accomplished in the past year. It’s OK to pat yourself on the back. You might also confer with a mentor or older person today.
Mercury enters Capricorn at 9:03 am Monday. Mercury in Capricorn is so determined to be an authority in his field that he will even maintain the pretense of knowing all the answers. He will sound pedantic and artificial, even moralistic. And that will tend to undermine his real authority unless he matures to the point of being able to share information. He can foster an atmosphere of sharing data that helps everyone to advance to a level of competence if not mastery. This Mercury is capable of concentrating an issue very deeply and at length. Has an excellent memory like his opposite sign, Cancer. If this Mercury is in good aspect with Saturn, can indicate ability in the sciences. Famous people with Mercury in Capricorn include: Louis Pasteur, Douglas MacArthur, Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater and Margaret Chase Smith.
Mars at 4 degrees Aquarius is sextile Uranus in Aries at 9:31 pm Monday. Mars-Uranus aspects can denote accidents, and the sextile means these might be lucky accidents, such as serendipitous discoveries. You are spontaneous in a way that seems inspired or even brilliant. But make an effort to get those brilliant thoughts onto paper before they evaporate.
Mercury at 4 degrees Capricorn square Uranus in Aries at 11:30 am Thursday. Mercury-Uranus aspects generally affect electrical, electronic, or mechanical items, and the square can mean repairs are due. We feel like a bit of a rebel today, and step out of our ruts. We could also get news (Mercury) that is shocking or surprising (Uranus) so hold on to your hats.
Mars at 7 degrees Aquarius trine Jupiter in Gemini at 7:46 am Friday. Mars-Jupiter trines are great ones for taking risks, although air signs might be content to merely do so on paper only. In general, people are more willing to step outside their comfort zones and test themselves against the competition. We win more than we lose in sports or gambling – but only if this favorably aspects natal planets or cusps!

Looking back at Prince William’s “cracked skull” accident when he was a boy

by Milky Way Maid

Several years ago, it was in all the papers and was also mentioned in a book on the royals. But now in 2012, not many people seem to remember when Prince William had to be rushed to the hospital with a head injury.

The event may even have been foreshadowed in an eerie occurrence at his baptismal ceremony. Reports were that the candle lit during the ceremony by his parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, flickered but did not go out. The Archbishop of Canterbury had baptized the infant, and handed the lit candle to the father, Charles. The windows were open and as a terrific storm gathered, a gust blew through the church, causing the candle to flicker. This was believed to predict a crisis in the young prince’s future, but that he would survive whatever it was – according to a psychic, Van der Post.

On page 410 of Kitty Kelley’s massive book, The Royals, she wrote,

BEGIN CITATION

“Prince William was accidentally hit on the head with a golf club, which fractured his skull, necessitating emergency surgery. Diana, who was at San Lorenzo restaurant when she received the news, hurried to her son’s side an spent two night in the hospital with him until he could come home. Charles visited him for a few minutes after his surgery but did not otherwise interrupt his schedule. He said he had to attend a performance of Tosca. The press was appalled. “What Kind of Dad Are You?” shrieked a Sun headline. Jean Rook in the Daily Express asked: “What sort of father of an eight-year-old [sic] boy, nearly brained by a golf club, leaves the hospital before knowing the outcome for a night at the opera?”

END OF CITATION.

The facts are as follows:

Birth of Prince William was on June 21, 1982 at 9:03 pm. He weighed 7 lbs, 5 ounces.

His full name is William Arthur Philip Louis Windsor.

The accident took place on June 3, 1991, and he was admitted to Royal Berkshire Hospital. He was operated on at Great Ormond Street Hospital for a depressed fracture of the skull.

Prince William 2-ring chart

(Chart made using WinStar Express software. Data given in article.)

In an article printed in the Daily Mail, Prince William made light of it.          BEGIN QUOTE

Prince William was interviewed on Newsround by 10-year-old cancer sufferer Alice.

“Yeah, we were on a putting green and the next thing you know there was a seven-iron and it came out of nowhere and it hit me in the head.” END QUOTE

ITN Source dot com adds that Princess Diana rode in the ambulance with William, although it is not clear which hospital was the destination for that ride.

So – I made up a two-ring chart with the inner circle for Prince William’s birth time and the outer circle for the accident. It is frustrating when the things that you think will show up on a chart are not there, isn’t it?

No Mars or Saturn or Uranus on the ascendant. He was having a lunar return, and transiting Sun was conjunct natal Mars in the sixth house of health. Mercury was transiting over Algol in Taurus in the fifth house of games and sports, opposite natal Uranus in Scorpio.

What strikes me most is not that the transiting planets are merely contacting natal planets, they are transiting natal HOUSE CUSPS. The House Cusps are possibly more sensitive than the natal planets and can often be used to time life events.

So that’s all I know about this one.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Dec. 23-29, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

Mars enters Aquarius at 7:49 pm Tuesday, Christmas Day. Mars in airy Aquarius is stronger when he joins as part of a group in working towards realizing his ideals on earth. Aquarians field of action tends to be more intellectual than practical, but that may depend on where other personal planets are positioned. Mars represents energies, and so the placement of the planet generally indicates where you need to expend much of your energy. In Aquarius, one’s understanding of human nature, and love of humanity in general, can be applied to many fields. An Aquarian loves watching children develop and grow, so he or she may go into education or simply have as large a family as his budget allows. Aquarians can go into politics, medicine, writing, or anything that requires detailed planning. Famous people born with Mars in Aquarius include: authors Victor Hugo, J D Salinger and Truman Capote, astronaut Virgil Grissom, playwright Edward Albee, actress Julie Christie, whimsical cartoonist Arthur Goldberg, photographer Edward Steichen, composer Richard Wagner, and politicians Charles de Gaulle and Adlai Stevenson.

Christmas Day features the Moon moving into Gemini at 2:13 am, plus the moon joins up with Jupiter – a rather euphoric conjunction, possibly from genuine Christmas cheer (not the liquid kind). The Sun squares Uranus in the evening, a rather upsetting aspect that makes one want to fight City Hall at the drop of a hat – although it could also give rise to original inventiveness or insights. So do not be upset if junior takes apart that expensive electronic toy; he is just learning how to build a better one.

We have a Full Moon at 5:21 am on Dec. 28, at 7 degrees Cancer. Plus, the Sun is nearly conjunct Pluto and the lights square Uranus. Hmmm, expect the unexpected. Many of us may be in a rebellious mood against City Hall or against the banksters. Perhaps the strongest statement any consumer can make during the holiday shopping season is to pay cash and scale down the spending.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. NOTE: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – Mars enters your solar eleventh house on Tuesday; your social group becomes a greater focus of activity this coming month. Your driving could be distracted on Christmas night; please be extra alert. You thoroughly enjoy visiting relatives midweek, catching up on the gossip and playing games. Your mind is on family the latter part of the week as well as on the holiday, so I imagine you are taking kids sledding and stuff like that.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – The week starts off with the Moon in comfortable Taurus, until early Tuesday. Sunday morning has the Moon opposite Saturn, possibly indicating someone who stands over you and makes sure that your work gets done or tosses more into your “in” basket. Monday offers time to be creative, especially if you get up extra early to write in your journal. Mars enters your solar tenth house on Tuesday; you realize that one of the perks of being a big shot is having more influence on community projects.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – Mars enters your solar ninth house on Tuesday; you are stimulated by new classes or internet-based studies. The Moon is in Gemini from 2:13 am Tuesday until Thursday afternoon. Early risers on Christmas Day may be so fuzzy-headed that they overlook a gift. But by midday they enjoy lots of laughs with friends. Supper hour is euphoric tho you may overdo on the feasting and drinks. Early risers on Wednesday start writing their thank-you notes.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – Mars enters your solar eighth house on Tuesday; you rationally try to divide debts into regular monthly payments. The Moon is in Cancer from 3:06 pm Thursday until early next Sunday (Dec. 30). Cancerians are rather buoyant Thursday afternoon, with Neptune acting as a giant air balloon for your mood. You might enjoy a night at the movies. You might call mom Friday night and she is really very lovely to you yet cannot resist laying down a little guilt trip. Saturday can be a really creative day for you if you plan time for it, and set out your paints or other materials.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – Mars enters your solar seventh house on Tuesday; you initiate introductions not only of yourself but to others who might have shared interests with those you already know. You may have more fun with friends than with family on Christmas Day, catching up with all the chatter or playing games with their children.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – Mars enters your solar sixth house on Tuesday; you volunteer your time in humanitarian or charitable drives. Also, it is advisable to watch your heart health and diet. You may enjoy being with seniors on Christmas Day, possibly volunteering at a hospital or assisted-living center. You catch up with friends during the latter part of the week.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – Mars enters your solar fifth house on Tuesday; your drive for creative expression returns, as well as a joy in watching youngsters grow. Cardinal signs could be distracted or upset on Christmas night, so if travelling please use extra care. You are extra busy at work the latter part of the week, and with extra pressure to get some things done before the weekend.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – Mars enters your solar fourth house on Tuesday; you put some effort into family relationships this coming month in spite of differences of opinion. You spend the days after Christmas tossing out the old to make room for all the wonderful new stuff you received. You may be put in charge of something Friday, so look alive, kiddo.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – Mars enters your solar third house on Tuesday; you try to use logic and other rational means to convince or teach others. That approach usually goes over like a lead balloon, so try to think of stories to illustrate a point. Your mate may be in a super-good mood at Christmas, and chatting a mile-a-minute, too.

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – Mars enters your solar second house on Tuesday; you may buy things and then decide you do not want them, so avoid impulse spending. Cardinal signs could be distracted or upset on Christmas night, so if travelling please use extra care. On Wednesday night you enjoy visiting mentors or older relatives.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – Mars enters your sign on Tuesday; you might be more impulsive yet also more expressive, and sensitive to musical rhythms. Go dancing more often this coming month. Your children are thrilled with their presents Christmas Day, and you enjoy their happy chatter as they play with new toys. On Thursday night you ponder a more rational approach to your diet and exercise habits.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – Mars enters your solar twelfth house on Tuesday; you may work on manifesting the personal dream of peace among men and nations. Your favorite place on Christmas Day is at home, with your own family. I see a lot of children in the house. Relatives from out of town may be staying as a guest in your home.

Charts for starting two different jobs

by Milky Way Maid

I have often made charts of the start of various jobs, trying to glean some clues as to how things might work out, or in the case of temp jobs, how long the job might last.

Attached at charts for two different jobs from years past, dug out of the deep dark recesses of the archive. You may print out both charts, blowing them up on Paint or whatever you wish to use.

First up, a job that started in June 1996 at 7 am. If I remember correctly, this was a job that lasted until about February or March of 1999, when I left due to what I felt was a repetitive motion injury.

This was the assembly job started in 1996 -- chart courtesy of the old Astro Communications.

This was the assembly job started in 1996 — chart courtesy of the old Astro Communications.

The work involved detailed and very picky assembly of electrical components – I do not want to get into too much detail about it now. But it was rather interesting for a while, anyway, and the boss was a multi-talented person who also designed magic tricks. Wild, hunh?

Saturn is high in the chart, possibly reflecting the fact that it was low-paid, though I was also able to work overtime (usually on a voluntary basis) to make a little more money. Venus is inconjunct Jupiter, which might reflect the fact that working conditions were not very good. There was no air conditioning in the summer heat, and I suffered because of that. Saturn might reflect the quality-control guy who was the immediate supervisor; Saturn is trine Pluto which might reflect that fact that he was solidly backed by the plant manager and I suppose the owner. This was true even though he was ill-informed on manufacturing safety issues or worker safety. I could throw more dirt on him but let’s move on.

The second chart was felt by many to be a “good job” – quote unquote

This job started training me in January of 2000, but the actual hiring date came after all the training was completed and I was supposedly up to speed on everything – that was in May of 2000.

This was the "good job" started in 2000 -- chart courtesy of the old Astro Communications.

This was the “good job” started in 2000 — chart courtesy of the old Astro Communications.

I have already mentioned to several readers that I once started

a job on a void-of-course moon – this is the job! Well, now that I look at it again, actually the True Node was a scant 13 minutes later. Does that count? The North Node, I now note, was at 26 degrees Cancer, a critical degree and one that made a positive aspect to my natal Venus.

I hesitate to describe the nature of the business because it engenders such hatred on the part of some readers. But it was a health insurance company, a quite large one, which at the time was part of a global company but was spun off as an independent American company again while I was there.

I worked there for six years, and it was very stressful at times. There was always a push to do more in less time – but isn’t that true everywhere? Yes, it is. We had a lot of IT tweaks (Informational Technology); our geek

s made the system more user-friendly and automated a lot of stuff so all we had to do was use a shortcut key to instruct the system to direct the claim to another department, for example.

It was a good experience to have with a large, modern office, and with computer software, and with working downtown in a medium-sized city. I only left for personal reasons which had to do with other, personal stuff going on in that town, necessitating a move to another state.

As a Sun Taurus, the job and the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Taurus came about the same time and gave me an economic boost.

Electional Astrology: Event Chart for Picking up New Car

by Milky Way Maid
Over the years I have made astrological charts for the purchase (or in some cases, the title transfer) of new or used cars. I figure this is a topic of general interest to most astrologers who drive. We like to think that in addition to all the research on the mechanical attributes of the car we purchase, that we can also select a good time to buy a new/used car.
The accompanying chart was dug out of my trunk of old astrology materials. It is – so far – the only such chart I could find of any of the ones I made for a car purchase. Sorry I do not find the one for the actual signing of the sales contract. I know that is a key (no pun intended) moment, too, but I just don’t have it.
Normally I now tell people that one of the transits to look for in buying any electronic or mechanical object is Mercury favorable to Uranus. Mercury because we want to travel in it, and Uranus because it is a mechanical, and electrical, and metal object. Mars can also be involved if it is a muscle car, a racing car, or red in color, or some other reasonable Mars-type use or function is attached to the particular car.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Dec. 16-22, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

Venus at zero degrees Sag squares Neptune in Pisces at 1:23 pm Sunday. Uh-oh, the flim-flam man breezes thru town and fleeces as many victims as he can. Hold onto your wallets, folks, and don’t even lend money to friends who swear they will pay you back on payday.
Juno enters Capricorn at 10:26 pm Tuesday. Juno here can be both maternal and paternal, in a rather stern manner of parenting. This is not the parent who comforts the crying child but one who says, oh it isn’t that bad, pick yourself up and get back in the game. This Juno is a rather good teacher, who communicates well and rewards desired behaviors. This teacher asks what the student learned from a failure, so that youngsters see that one progresses by eliminating efforts that do not bring the desired result.
The Sun enters Capricorn at 6:12 am Friday. Motivated by ambition, Capricorns want recognition and respect from others. Not for them is the virtue of laboring in silence or behind the scenes without credit or thanks. Sometimes they become fixed on being in control, a la Al Haig. Mature Capricorn personalities are able to encourage the organizational talents of others, and to delegate authority. Cappy has a deep respect for authority, and wishes to become one. Their speech may make use of classical allusions. Famous people with Sun in Capricorn include: actor Cary Grant, author Rudyard Kipling and scientists Louis Pasteur and Isaac Newton, and politicians Everett Dirksen, Ben Franklin, Barry Goldwater and Joseph Stalin.
Also the much-ballyhooed Winter Solstice of December 21, 2012 finally arrives with the Capricorn ingress – at 6:12 am Friday. It is accompanied by the Moon in Aries trine Mercury in Sag, Pallas at 25 Pisces trine North Node in Scorpio, Juno conjunct the Sun in Capricorn, Vesta opposite Mercury in Sag, and Chiron at 5 Pisces square Venus in Sag and trine Saturn in Scorpio. The mutable signs are obviously very stressed by the squares and oppositions. Water signs and fire signs may do best do to the Moon-Mercury trine in fire, and the multiple water trines. Sorry I cannot deal with this in depth in this format.

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
