Mercury enters Libra at 3:07 am Monday. Mercury in Libra is VERY fair-minded, and generally makes a point of listening to both sides before saying anything. Must mention that the youthful Mercury-in-Libra person spends too much time looking for acceptance from others when giving an opinion, because they are afraid of saying the wrong thing. This is why people think they are indecisive. Libras can lose their balance, honest, as well as their integrity and perspective, if they do not learn what is importance to THEM and not to others. The mature Mercury-in-Libra person learns how to say what needs to be said, but in a softer, gentler manner so that it goes down easily. Sometimes has a wonderful vocal gift for accents or languages – can project voice without distortion.
Sometimes the Mercury-in-Libra person can see in a flash what the solution to a problem is, but then they try to back up and figure it out logically – they should learn to trust that intuition. As an air sign is capable of real wisdom, or the most awful superficiality. Famous people with Mercury in Libra include: Queen Elizabeth I, golfer Arnold Palmer, Margaret Chase Smith, Henry Ford II, and actor David McCallum.
Mars at 7 degrees Leo squares Saturn in Scorpio at 7:06 am Monday. Could be an Oopsie day, with a broken bone or two if it contacts something in your natal chart. Arguments (Mars) may lead to saying goodbye or firing (Saturn). This is a very touchy aspect and you may have to walk on eggshells this morning. An irresistible force (Mars) meets an immoveable object (Saturn) – meaning, do not get into arguments that will change no one’s minds.
Venus leaves her home in Libra for Scorpio at 2:16 am Wednesday, Sept. 11. Venus in Scorpio is said to be in her detriment – although it must be said that this Venus wears the little black dress like NOBODY else. This Venus can get so much just by whispering a word in your ear, or even by saying nothing at all, and her eyes can be more suggestive than the crudest gesture. Sometimes Venus in Scorpio tries to control or manipulate others, but that is so unattractive! Scorpio rules The Hidden, and in this case, Venus can draw out the hidden talents or hidden side of anyone or anything. Can rouse and strengthen the power that others have over their own lives and talents, showing them their (previously hidden) worth.
Venus in Scorpio can be very possessive, although their magnetism should be enough to keep someone close by. Love lives can be stormy, only because they want to experience the highs and the lows – and the fun of making up. Famous people with Venus in Scorpio include: opera singer Joan Sutherland, actress Mary Martin, Queen Marie Antoinette, actress Patty Duke, singer Connie Francis, pacifist Mohandas Gandhi, tycoon J. Paul Getty, evangelist Billy Graham, actress Sophia Loren and pianist Vladimir Horowitz.
Venus at 3 degrees Scorpio trines Neptune in Pisces at 2:33 am Saturday. Venus and Neptune together make for that treacherous “in love with love” dreamy-eyed mood that leads one down the primrose path. You tend to fall for all the wrong people, people who may not be what they say they are. Best to stay home and watch the late movie. Might be good for looking at cameras.
Mercury at 9 degrees Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn at 4:28 pm Saturday. This is great for doing heavy research or ferreting out the truth in your best Sam Spade impression. The square indicates it won’t be easy, nothing will be handed to you, and you will have to shake a lot of trees before the apples of truth fall into your hands.
Mars at 11 degrees Leo trines Uranus in Aries at 4:56 pm Saturday. Ooh, here’s a good opportunity to buy that new computer or car you’ve had your eyes on. I’ve told you before that good aspects between Mars and Uranus favor buying anything mechanical, electronic, electrical, etc. So this category covers everything from cars, computers and cameras to some little gadget from Radio Shack. You could install the new garage door opener this weekend, too.

Mercury at 9 degrees Capricorn is conjunct Pluto at 11:42 am Sunday. Favorable Mercury-Pluto aspects can be utilized in adopting a positive affirmation or mantra for the week to come. Mercury sextiles Saturn at 6:44 pm the same day, adding a layer of self-discipline to the mix of planetary energies. Mercury-Pluto is not very talkative, since you are busy turning over clues in your mind as you solve assorted mysteries. Mercury-Saturn is very serious and sticks to facts or number-crunching, sometimes they are in a role of authority such as teaching or running a seminar.
Mars at 10 degrees Aquarius squares Saturn in Scorpio at 2:33 pm Monday. Mars as a signifier of health may be challenged Monday by restrictions, poor health, being physically blocked from moving forward, etc. Yet the Mission comes first with Mars-Saturn aspects, so sick people may go in to work anyway. The aspect is also very organized; you get at the junk drawer, your purse, old files, and toss what is no longer needed.
Venus enters the sign Capricorn at 11:11 pm Tuesday. Venus in Capricorn is very disciplined and dutiful. She holds onto her looks better in Cappy than in possibly any other sign, since she is more careful to maintain her weight and make herself exercise. Venus in her rulership of values is a bit too socially ambitious in Capricorn for my taste, altho there are some with this placement who are so fearful of social rejection that do not even enter the fray. Venus in Capricorn does have a knack for manipulating physical resources to meet her needs. For example, she can budget well in order to meet a financial goal, she can see how to turn a tablecloth into a shawl or a dress, etc. Famous people with Venus in Capricorn include: Joan of Arc, Robert F. Kennedy, Richard Burton, Prince Andrew, and Caroline Kennedy.
Venus at 1 degree Capricorn sextiles Neptune in Pisces at 12:46 am Thursday. Sensitivity to music or other arts is high, and performers may be able to pull out a better performance than they thought they were capable of. You get going on creative projects. You might be a wee bit spacey, but you are just listening to higher vibrations today.
Venus at 5 degrees Capricorn squares Uranus in Aries at 11:13 pm Saturday. Venus-Uranus squares usually denote meeting a fascinating stranger, even falling in love with that stranger, but the square usually denotes a short-term relationship if any. Someone could suddenly propose, but think very carefully whether you would still like this person five years from now. Venus as ruler of financial issues can also find itself with a cash flow problem, or changing jobs.

Venus in Leo opposes Neptune at 9:39 am Sunday at 29 degrees Aquarius; this is soon followed by the Sun opposition to Neptune at 7:26 pm Monday. Those Neptune aspects, within days of a Mercury station, can be treacherous times to do any business with anyone. Take plenty of time to check out new potential associates.
The Sun enters Virgo at 7:21 am Tuesday. Happy birthday to all Virgo natives! Be careful early in your solar year, though, as Chiron is lurking in opposition to your natal planets, in early Pisces. You may have to spend at least part of the year dealing with injury or a health problem. So look around your home and garage for accidents just waiting to happen, and be proactive.
Mars in Cancer squares Saturn at 14 degrees Libra at 6:46 am Thursday. Mars-Saturn squares are classic signatures for broken bones, if they contact natal planets. Be safety conscious. In more general terms, these planets can factor into balancing fear of failure with your ambitions.
Yay, Mercury goes direct at 6:03 pm Friday, while stationing at 18 degrees 45 minutes of Leo. OK, you can breathe again, those of you who are such wusses while Mercury is retro. It is kind of worrisome that the station is opposite the Full Moon in Aquarius of August 13, which in turn saw the Moon oppose the Sun and Venus both in Leo. Fixed sign natives are probably going to be stressed over miscarried mail, messages, or verbal communications.
Sun in Virgo is inconjunct Uranus in Aries at 3:24 am Saturday. Be sure to wear helmets if engaging in sports or riding recreational vehicles of any kind. And if dealing with electrical wiring or gadgetry, please leave it to the pros for now. You may feel rebellious, and even try to fight City Hall. If that goes nowhere, don’t blame me.
Juno and Vesta trine each other this week in air signs Libra and Aquarius, respectively. Air signs may invest their energies in support of spouses or other partners, over and above the usual sacrifices that partnerships always entail. All for love, or something like that. Just send a bill at the end of this mission totaling your hours, with N/C at the bottom — to make your partner appreciate how much you do.
PS – I am listing a few used astrology books for sale on Amazon Books; Part Two was posted July 1! Look for reviews in my column with a link to the listing. Even more titles to come soon. Thanks for your support (and patience). Note that the Intuition book, listed in Part One, has sold.

Mars in Gemini squares Saturn in Virgo on Monday evening; this is an aspect that commonly marks accidents and injuries, so drive defensively and hold onto railings. Saturn rules bones so there is always the chance of a fracture. Watch out for accidental electronic slip-ups, too, like sending a personal email to “all” at work. The mutable signs will be most affected (Gemini, Virgo, Sag, Pisces).
The Moon in Aries trines Sun in Leo on Tuesday morning. What a wonderful day for high, ebullient spirits. Wear red if ya got it.
Mars in Gemini trines Jupiter in Aquarius at midday Thursday. This can be an awfully lucky transit, especially for air signs — altho that depends on your natal placements and what natal houses are affected. Possible events include luck in sports, high energy, making good personal and business decisions, making a juicy commission, brokering a deal. Good luck!
Mars in Sagittarius squares Saturn in Virgo on Monday. We’re supposed to put a positive spin on everything nowadays, but this is a classic transit for a bone fracture. Can you skip the ski day and just take pictures or something? And salt that ice by the side door, would you?
The Sun is inconjunct the Moon on Sunday. On the one hand, it is a very creative aspect for couples to get together and do their holiday decorating. On the other hand, prepare for having to negotiate differences in taste. Maybe the gold trimmings can go on the tree in the front room, and the blue trimmings on the rec room tree??
BTW I want to give a mention to the Holiday Control Journal available from the FlyLady people at FlyLady.com. If you always feel overwhelmed by the Thanksgiving-to-New-Year’s ordeal, give the Control Journal a shot. It’s free, just go to the site and print it out. It breaks down all the tasks that have to be done to make your holidays run smooth. If you make this part of your annual routine, you will never again have to run out at the last minute to find a gift for Aunt Mable because you forgot.
