Your Milky Way Horoscope March 16-22, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury enters Pisces at 6:24 pm Monday. (Mercury was in Pisces briefly in February before going retrograde into Aquarius. Now Mercury is in Pisces for good until April 7.) Mercury in Pisces is more intuitive than academic, although natives can get good grades in school due to a very good memory. Mercury here can receive sharp perceptions, but have trouble communicating their insights clearly because of emotional baggage. Nevertheless, Pisces Mercury can rise above fears, and invite others to experience their psychic impressions. Cling to ideals, which have a healing quality in a chaotic world. Mercury in Pisces can be very creative, although natives often need a period of gestation for their ideas to percolate to the surface. Famous people with Mercury in Pisces include: Leontyne Price, Victor Hugo, Abraham Lincoln, Eugene McCarthy, Earl Warren, Sidney Poitier, Robert Frost, and W E B DuBois.
Venus at 11 degrees Aquarius sextiles Uranus in Aries at 3 pm Tuesday. A positive aspect like this between Venus and Uranus can bring a sudden attraction to a foreigner or someone with an accent, and end more happily than with the square or opposition. Alas a relationship is likely to not last much longer than it would with a stressful aspect – but you can still try to nail down that charming stranger.
The Sun enters Aries at 12:57 pm Thursday, marking the Vernal Equinox. Sun in Aries is active, a self-starter, an igniter – someone who initiates contact and projects. Aries natives like to feel independent, even tho they may wind up in a service job such as waiter or waitress so that they can change employers more easily when they need a change. Aries is not really good working as part of a team, unless it is to carry out a solo function such as sales, delivery, etc. Needs a way to express their dynamic energy, because being chained to a desk will not cut it with them. The Sun in Aries is assertive, kinetic, fiery, pioneering, adventuresome, competitive, ambitious, and inspiring. Needs to be his own boss, have his own home and family. Tends to jump into a situation before sizing things up or getting pointers from a pro. In other words, does not always look before leaping. Famous people with the Sun in Aries include: singer Doris Day, comedian Charlie Chaplin, Arturo Toscanini, patriot Thomas Jefferson, painter Vincent Van Gogh, composer Johann Sebastian Bach, astronaut Virgil Grissom, Henry Luce, poet Robert Frost, and J William Fulbright.
Mercury at 6 degrees Pisces is conjunct Neptune again at 4:16 pm Saturday. The Sun was conjunct Neptune on Feb. 23, so this could be the arrival of some news (Mercury) related to a person (Sun) known to you, depending on where it is in your own chart. In regards to any personal business, it definitely does NOT favor signing any contracts or estimates; something is sure to be left out or unclear. And you are likely to fill the gaps with wishful thinking rather than facts.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Jan. 26-Feb. 1, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers–
I missed a column in January due to illness. I was in Intensive Care for a few days; my doctors are still running some tests. I’d appreciate your keeping me in mind for the near future while I mend. Thanks so much!

The Sun at 9 degrees Aquarius is sextile Uranus in Aries at 3:33 am Wednesday. Sun-Uranus aspects have to do with declaring one’s independence and asserting one’s uniqueness. We may resemble a rebel without a cause. We may break out of our ruts, and even play hookey from school or work. Insights can arrive without really working for them. Mentally, this transit favors study of any kind, because your alert, curious mind can comprehend and accept ideas more readily and more quickly.

Jupiter at 12 degrees Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn at 4:36 am Friday. This is probably a generational transit rather than a personal one. Opposition by the oligarchy (Pluto) can be strongly against progressive politics (Jupiter). On a personal level, one is obliged to keep to the straight and narrow lest the law (Jupiter) and/or police (Pluto) clip your wings a bit. (I am reminded of Jesus’ trip to Jerusalem, where he worked to challenge both the religious and Roman authorities, while trying to maintain silence on the subject of whether he was the Messiah or not.)

Mercury enters Pisces at 9:29 am Friday. Mercury in Pisces far prefers the private world of fantasy to dry and nasty reality. Mercury here can be amazingly intuitive, although Pisces often fears expressing her intuitions in the face of ridicule or laughter. Mature Pisces natives can communicate their visions of a better way of life, birthing ideals into a healing force in the real world. The Piscean mind is not basically scientific, but it can absorb information and do well enough in an academic setting to graduate. If Mercury here is well aspected, denotes a creative imagination. Famous people with Mercury in Pisces include: opera singers Adelina Patti and Leontyne Price, author Victor Hugo, Eugene McCarthy, Earl Warren, Sidney Poitier, Princes Edward and Andrew, poet Robert Frost, and W E B DuBois.

Venus makes her direct station at 13 degrees, 34′ Capricorn at 3:49 pm Friday. As I have explained before, based on reading Dane Rudhyar and other astrologers, the Venus retrograde period allows us to have a “change of heart” – about a specific person or about our values in general (balancing values of people vs money). During the retrograde, it can be awkward or difficult to relate to others, or we may doubt the sincerity of the Other, or feel let down. On December 21, Venus went retrograde at 28 degrees, 58′ of Capricorn. In 2012, Venus went retrograde on May 15 and direct on June 27. Possibly reflecting on the 2012 period will reveal insights useful to understanding the current retrograde and direct motions. Venus represents magnetism, and during the retrograde it might be best to try not to attract whatever or whoever we most desire, because we may inadvertently drive them away. Wait till after the direct station (Jan. 31) to try to spread your nets. Then Venus is your friend again, and can function normally as the prime attractor in your life.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 3-9, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Mars at 2 degrees Pisces is conjunct Neptune at 3:57 pm Monday. The worst aspect between these two planets is the conjunction, because if it touches natal planets it can drain your energy to the last drop.
Mercury enters Pisces at 9:56 am Tuesday. Mercury in Pisces can be a quick learner because it just absorbs things like a sponge, rather than consciously studying material. Mercury here can also be very intuitive but afraid to share her impressions; however, mature Pisceans are able to share not just a impressions but fully detailed visions of how the world could be. Afflicted Mercuries can overpower one with fantasies or even delusion. But well-aspected Mercuries can be a sign of a powerful imagination that yields artistic treasures. Can be careless and share gossip without realizing the damage that is done. Famous people with Mercury in Pisces include: author Victor Hugo, Abraham Lincoln, justice Earl Warren, actor Sidney Poitier, and political dreamer Eugene McCarthy.
Venus at 5 degrees Aquarius sextiles Uranus in Aries at 2:08 pm Wednesday. These Venus-Uranus aspects make us meet all sorts of fascinating people, most of whom just pass through our lives – but they sure are thrilling while they are around. Uranus types include foreigners, people with unusual ideas or ways of dressing, astrologers and psychologists, and of course computer geeks and electricians. Venus finds them oh so charming.
Mercury at 2 degrees Pisces is conjunct Neptune at 6 pm sharp on Wednesday, altho Neptune always tends to run late, ha ha. This is sure to snarl some communications. Either the cell drops calls, or the fax runs out of toner, or the emails go into the spam file and never get read.
Venus at 6 degrees Aquarius trines Jupiter in Gemini at 12:58 am Thursday, which means you might stay up late eating that stash of Twinkies you snatched up when the announcement came thru that the Hostess snack company was closing up. Venus is sweets and Jupiter is overdoing, so you really could get sick on candies or bakery.
Mercury at 5 degrees Pisces is conjunct angry Mars at 12:57 pm Friday. Mercury conjunct Mars is perfect shorthand for fierce arguments – although it also can mean brisk debate. This is not the time to inquire about a broken promise or a loan not repaid or why your man doesn’t spend enough time with you. Now, having said that, Pisces has generally a dampening effect on this kind of aspect, so Pisces will get really angry, and then slump down on the couch bemoaning how awful people are to her all the time. Sob, sob.
People in the Pacific time zone will see the New Moon Saturday night at 11:20 pm. People in the Eastern time zone will see the NM at 2:20 am. It will be at 21 degrees, 43′ of Aquarius, and usher in the Chinese year of the Snake. Accompanied by Mars square Jupiter, the NM heralds a period of risk-taking – what kind of risk-taking depends on where it falls in your chart. An article on the Chinese year of the Snake can be found here:

Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 12-18, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

The asteroid Pallas Athena enters Pisces at 12:05 am Sunday, Feb. 12. Pallas is not really comfortable in such a feeling, spiritual sign like Pisces. Pisceans may be quite stressed and torn between the influence of Neptune in their sign (bringing out latent spiritual and humanitarian values) and the very practical, very self-controlled Pallas. Pallas might allow herself to respond to music, and that is about it for her. Pallas remains in Pisces until about mid-May, then the Neptune influence can begin to express itself more freely and openly.
The Sun enters Pisces at 1:18 am Sunday, Feb. 19. Happy birthday to all the Fishes! People with the Sun in Pisces tend to be impressionable and/or psychic. Pisceans are probably best at manifesting their inner world onto the outer world; if their inner life is a shambles, that is what they manifest, and the same hold true if their inner life is serene and creative. Its natural ruler Neptune enters this sign in February, a spiritual influence that many of us might resist to no avail.
Mercury trines Saturn at 29 degrees Libra at 1:44 pm Monday. Serious talk, serious mood and serious work. No one is in a mood for the idle chatter by the coffee machine after lunch. That’s OK, maybe we can all catch up on everything in the in-box today.
Mercury also enters Pisces, at 8:38 pm Monday. Mercury in Pisces accents the creative imagination. Pisceans are good at learning by osmosis, seeming to just pick it up from the air. They know some things intuitively without knowing how they know it. Yet these people can absorb too much tension from their surroundings and become ill, even mentally overtaxed to the point of physical breakdown from too much work or stress. Needs a creative outlet. Famous people with Mercury here include Adelina Patti, Leontyne Price, Victor Hugo, Abraham Lincoln, Sidney Poitier and Robert Frost.
Venus in Aries squares Pluto at 8 degrees Capricorn at 1:32 pm Wednesday. Venus-Pluto squares have a lot to do with romantic obsession. Persons affected by this aspect tend to try too hard to control a relationship and don’t give it room to grow. And you know that livings things that don’t grow tend to start dying on the vine. So think about it.
The Sun trines Saturn at 29 degrees Libra at 11:02 am Saturday. People affected by this aspect may be called on to manage the details, to organize and plan. Responsibility (Saturn) may be thrust upon you. You may even receive honors or awards, which is also Saturn. Saturn rules science, so you will tend to be more methodical and logical.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Feb. 20-26, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

A triple conjunction occurs in Aquarius Sunday evening. Mercury joins Mars at 5:44 pm, Mercury joins Neptune at 8:07 pm, and Mars joins Neptune at 11:17 pm. Mercury-Mars is vehemently emotional speech. Mercury-Neptune is a speech defect, confused thinking, getting lost, and also speaking of ideals. Mars-Neptune is ideals, but also dance. Mercury and then Mars conjoin Chiron in Pisces during the week.
Mercury enters Pisces at 3:53 pm Monday. Mercury in Pisces has trouble communicating its ideals and visions, but it does have an active fantasy life. But Pisces is called to transmit its vision of a better world, and thereby help bring it into reality.
Mars enters Pisces at 8:06 pm Tuesday. Mars in Pisces has trouble sometimes with honoring the spiritual abilities of others; they think they are the only ones who are capable of conceiving a vision of a better world. This can lead to your gifts being wasted or scattered. But sharing insights with each other helps raise all boats, so to speak.
Mercury in Pisces sextiles Pluto in Capricorn at 12:06 pm Friday. This is after the Sun joins Mercury at 3:48 am, at 6 degrees Pisces. (Anyone with natal planets at 6 degrees of cardinal signs will be especially affected by the series of aspects on Friday.) The mental detectives get busy. Good for investigating contracts, cold cases, medical or legal issues, doing research of any kind. Pluto also leads one into fields dealing with metaphysics, so that may spur you into reading about philosophy, spiritual laws, psychology, astrology, and any other field that delves into the hidden motivations behind what people do.
Jupiter in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn at 3:40 pm Friday. The square denotes antagonizing those in authority. Wonder if Wikileaks is going to release some more sensitive info that reveals still more cases of questionable ethics among those in power.
Sun in Pisces sextiles Pluto in Capricorn at 7:17 pm Friday. A time for personal transformation, of gaining spiritual depth. Opportunities to make some good karma.

Your Milky Way Horoscope March 8-14

Mars is conjunct Neptune in Aquarius early Sunday morning. I don’t expect anyone to jump out of bed that day ready to do chores; this is a lazy, energy-sapping aspect. All you will want to do is reset your clocks for Daylight Saving Time. Then the Sun opposes Saturn about midday Sunday. Pisces/Virgo people will be prone to hiding in their own cocoons, but they need to communicate their needs. This is an aspect where people have differing needs, schedules, and deadlines. Just put your head up and let your mate know what’s happening.
Mercury enters Pisces. It’s a time for digesting what you hear and read, rather than chattering on about the latest news and gossip. But the downside is that Mercury here wallows in self-pity and nightmarish what-ifs, imagining all the things that could go wrong. She’s got to get a grip on herself and deliberately affirm her faith. (I don’t mean necessarily church-faith, just faith that she can handle whatever comes.)

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
