Your Milky Way Horoscope JULY 27-AUG. 2, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers– Please visit the website of the National Blood Clot Alliance at StopTheClot.org to learn more about blood clots and when you might need to see a doctor about it.

Happy Birthday to Leos out there! More celebs with Sun in Leo: Tom Robbins, Anthony Kennedy, Maxfield Parrish, Mick Jagger, Beatrix Potter, Frankie Yankovic, David Baldacci, Louis Leakey, Sylvia Sidney, Cecil B DeMille, Annie Oakley, Tim Tebow, Meriweather Lewis.

Venus at 11 degrees Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn at 2:37 am Monday. Venus and Pluto aspects sometimes affect a “soul mate” relationship. With the opposition, there are obstacles or one party rejects the other party. Sometimes the opposition indicates intense soul-searching about what kind of life you want, as well as what kind of love you want.

Mercury enters kingly Leo at 6:46 pm Thursday. Mercury in Leo tends to be rather arrogant – he’s always right because he’s the king, you know. At any rate, when this Leo talks it comes off sounding dictatorial, which makes communication rather one-sided and unsuccessful. However, if one’s message is couched in Leo’s talent for dramatic impact, then communication can be very successful. Leo can sure leave a lasting impression! This Mercury also wants to hear expressions of loyalty. Mercury in Leo does have the advantage of combining the mind with the heart, which makes what he says go straight to the listener’s heart. With his personal charisma, he could be a very popular speaker. Famous people with Mercury in Leo include: author Ernest Hemingway, Napoleon, Beatle Ringo Starr, former talk-show host Merv Griffin, Louis Armstrong aka Satchmo, Fidel Castro, painter Marc Chagall, baseball manager Casey Stengel, and Paul Tillich.

Venus at 16 degrees Cancer squares Uranus in Aries at 12:43 am Friday. First, let’s be clear: Venus can be love or it can be money. Taking the latter first, this transit can bring sudden expenses or sudden windfalls. You may have difficulties re finances: declare bankruptcy, change or lose jobs, or conversely, win a lottery. With love, you may fall in love with the charming stranger or foreigner, or get a proposal of marriage. The square unfortunately indicates too many obstacles for this to be a lasting alliance– maybe he/she is at that party with another date, which he/she is eager to ditch for an interesting dinner with you.

Venus at 16 degrees Cancer trines Saturn in Scorpio at 6:22 am Friday. Obviously this is related to the issues stated above under the Venus-Uranus square. Regarding finances, it is very positive because you are more inclined to stick to your budget, or set up a savings plan. We find a safe investment for our money. Regarding romance, we are comfortable with an older person, or we are happy to link up with someone who is financially stable.

Mars at 3 degrees Scorpio squares Jupiter in Leo at 6:47 pm Friday. Any aspect between Mars and Jupiter can be lucky; the square indicates that we have to make some focused effort to get there because nothing is going to fall into our lap. We are extra competitive at sports or in business, going deep down for that second effort that wins the game. There may be some risk involved, such as with placing a bet on a sporting event, or sinking cash into a start-up. We tend to win more than we lose under this transit, so we feel we are on a roll.

On Saturday, Mercury gets busy – it conjoins Jupiter at 3 degrees Leo at 3:33 pm, while squaring Mars at 3 degrees Scorpio at 8:01 pm. Mercury square Mars is very argumentative, and in Leo it takes on the manner of issuing a royal edict! However, with the conjunction to Jupiter, this Leo may just be right about the facts.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – Venus in your sign opposes Pluto Monday; balancing Self and demands by others can get very tricky, especially if your mate demands all your time and attention. Friday pm can be very lucky for you if betting on sports or taking some kind of risk, so sharpen up your basketball free-throw game and team-picking skills. You may have to accept a delay in college or publishing plans for a couple months, until Ceres and Vesta have made things ready for your plans.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from Sunday till very late Monday. You may enjoy feeling the wind in your hair while driving Sunday night, but watch out for the local speed trap, hmm? The Moon is void all day Monday so stick to routine matters. Mercury enters your sign Thursday; try not to sound arrogant, but do put your heart into what you say. Ceres and Vesta enter your solar fourth house for a couple months; you may spend the summer away from home, or family members may take off for assorted jobs or courses.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – Venus in Cancer in your solar eleventh house opposes Pluto Monday; balancing time for friends and creative expression gets tricky, and some friends may drop you. The Moon is in Virgo from 11:37 pm Monday till midday Thursday. You manage to reach friends by phone Thursday morning so touch base and confirm lunch dates.

Your audience is too confused for a good post-lunch meeting Tuesday. Best day is Wednesday morn when you introduce a dear friend to a wise old relative or neighbor. You manage to get hold of a friend by phone Thursday morn.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 12:09 pm Thursday till Saturday night. Thursday night favors spending good times with boon companions. Early risers on Friday can share a congenial breakfast while getting shopping and budget tips. Friday dinner is at a sporting venue, which may be a lucky night for you. Saturday shows lots of activity with friends, possibly at some kind of fund-raising event for a non-profit. You may have to be very strict about budgeting for the next two months and forego luxuries, in order to pay off some debt or save for something special.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – Your solar ninth house is very active this week; you may meet people from other countries or who have an accent, and enjoy hearing their impressions of the USA. These will probably be short-term relationships, possibly through work contracts or something like that. Mercury enters your solar tenth house Thursday; you could be interviewed for a job this month, or sound like a boss. The Moon enters Scorpio at 10:57 pm Saturday. Ooh, the midnight hour belongs to Scorpio anyway. Ceres and Vesta enter your sign the latter part of the week; you need time to yourself, when you can nurture and care for yourself like a hothouse orchid.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – Best day may be Sunday although the evening may have its ups and down, like a thrilling roller coaster ride. Mercury enters compatible Leo on Thursday; you have to sound confident and in command of all the facts if you go to court (or talk to a publisher); however guard against sounding arrogant, and remember to put your heart behind your words. Friday also throws some surprises your way regarding friends and finances. Saturday favors a campus visit, online if you are considering free enrichment courses.

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – Your solar seventh house of partners and the public is active this week. Venus in Cancer opposes Pluto Monday; balancing Self and demands by others can get very tricky, especially if your mate demands all your time and attention. Best day may be Wednesday morn when an older friend is involved. Friday may find you getting rather too interested in a charming foreigner. Joint finances are accented Saturday; you might serve as teller or croupier at your casino-night party.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – Mercury enters your solar seventh house Thursday; try to remember to put your heart into what you say, especially when speaking to business partners or your spouse. Best day is probably Friday, when ruler Saturn is trined by lovely Venus; you add a layer of charm to your ambition, and are able to schmooze with the higher-ups like a pro. Ceres and Vesta enter your solar tenth house late this week; you may be passed over for promotion, but the time is just not right yet. Just be patient and work on skills you will need for the big job.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – Venus in Cancer in your solar fifth house opposes Pluto Monday; balancing time for friends and creative expression gets tricky, and some friends may drop you. Mercury enters your solar sixth house Thursday; try to remember to put your heart into what you say, especially when speaking to coworkers or people in uniform. Best day may be Saturday when your ruler Jupiter joins Mercury and you feel extra playful and competitive.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Nov. 10-16, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury goes direct at 4:12 pm Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2 degrees 32′ of Scorpio. By this time you may have stumbled upon some information that you were not supposed to find out, or anyway, info that explains a small mystery in your life. A past event may prove to be the deeply rooted trauma that prevents you from moving forward in some way, and now that you have brought it to the light, it no longer has power over you.
A forward-moving Mercury trines confusing Neptune at 2 degrees Pisces at 3:48 pm Monday. Mercury and Neptune do not get along too well, even with a trine aspect. It becomes TOO EASY to get confused, to get scammed, to lose you way or lose your wallet, to be worried out of your mind. Try selecting an affirmation to conquer a fear (Neptune), or sessions of altered consciousness like hypnosis or meditation to resolve or dissolve old programming.
The Sun at 20 degrees Scorpio trines retrograde Jupiter in Cancer at 11:39 am Tuesday. A lot of benefits are ascribed to a Sun-Jupiter trine, but more often it merely lends a screen of protection around one’s person. You may lose one job, but financial supports or other income kick in and you manage to pay your bills. Or, you lose an apartment but find shelter with relatives or other friends. Since Jupiter just went retrograde last week, it is yet virtually at a standstill and exerting especially strong power in this transit. You could be thrust into the limelight under this transit, if it falls on an angle in your natal chart.
Neptune makes its Direct Station on 2 degrees, 35′ Pisces at 1:43 pm Wednesday. I wish to quote extensively from Dane Rudhyar’s brilliant chapter on Neptune (in An Astrological Triptych) to explain the influences of this planet and effects of the stations—

“The Neptunian era that followed during the nineteenth century actually built the substance of our modern society – its machines, it industries, its commerce and travel – but it built upon the intellectual foundations of scientific materialism. It built upon spiritual scarcity and upon the power vested in the remnants of ancient feudalism to corner the more abundant life under the cloak of rugged individualism. Neptune is the wholesale builder of collective substance. Its power of proliferation is immense, but it builds only according to man’s attitude toward Uranian creativeness. If this attitude is one of resistance to the unfamiliar New, of fear before the revealed Glory, of weary withdrawal into the Saturnian shells of social security and privilege, then Neptune’s power of growth leads to the senseless mushrooming forth of hectic cities, tabloid newspapers, glamor-crazy motion pictures, murder-storied radios, (hallucinogenic) drugs – and to generalized cancerous conditions due to unorganic living and unnatural habits of physical or psychological feeding.

“Neptune, nevertheless, in its true positive being, is the substantiality of the spirit. Neptune is the substance of creative space, the astral light, the Ocean of spiritual Sound, the encompassing gift-waves of divine grace the all-inclusive charity of the compassionate ones. Is it the divine Substance which feeds what the Uranian spirit has aroused into creative being. . .

“In the physical body, this power is the source whence are derived the antibodies, white corpuscles, and special hormones or enzymes which are sent through the blood to heal and purify whatever part of the organism has been injured or exhausted. At the level of the great spiritual organism that may be called Man, this Neptunian power is Grace (Charis) – Grace which comes to every soul that has recognized and accepted its participation in the ‘works if the spirit’, and its companionship in the mystic Christ with all that is of the spirit.

“To the individual limited and bound within the structures of his ego, the universe as a whole answers as Karma, the Mosaic Law of exact compensation. But to him whose soul has become a hallowed shrine for the Living God, whose circumference of self includes potentially the whole universe, whose mind establishes its formulations in terms of the reconciliation of all opposites, leaving nothing outside of its all-inclusive multi-dimensional logic – to him God answers as grace. Though his path be strewn with collective obstacles and harsh memories of his individual past, he is nevertheless secure – with the only security that is of value, the security that comes from being the Whole in active expression at one point, and this point, one’s immortal self.

“This faith in Grace is the Neptunian consequence of a courageously met and assimilated confrontation with Uranus and its creative transfigurations. The two factors cannot be separated, and both are expressions of an utterly changed conscious relationship to spirit and to God, its cosmic Source. Spirit is the ‘universal creative’ not in the sense of it being the builder of worlds and physical organisms, but because it is that constant harmonic Motion which emanates and releases incessantly whatever is necessary to compensate for and to harmonize any disturbance in the equilibrium of the universal Whole. Spirit creates solutions to every need – including that vast solution to the need of chaos which we understand as universe or solar system. Every human birth, considered as the release of an immortal self can be harmonized and balanced by the potentiality of a victorious future, is a solution presented by the spirit. Every birth-chart is a plan for regeneration an individual creation of the spirit, a logos sent by the Father to save a portion of humanity. . .

“Grace comes to pervade the soul that has left behind the sense of individual lack inherent in the nature of the ego. As an ego, man knows himself apart from the spiritual Whole; as a soul, he experiences himself a part of this spiritual Whole. In and through this experience he becomes actually and consciously suffused with the vitality of the Whole. He partakes of the Blood of the Whole, of the creative substance of the spirit – the mystic Wine and Bread. He partakes of the Eucharist – the perfect gift of Grace – as the cell of the body partakes of the vital essences and the healing chemicals of the forever flowing blood in which it lives and has its being.

“This is the life more abundant, the life in Grace; a life from which has vanished the gnawing sense of frustration and lack, and the regrets or remorse of ego-bondage, ego-fulfillment and ego-conditioned tragedies; a life now filled with the presence of the unfolding God-seed within the soul and with the downflow of Grace this unfoldment summons because it requires it. It is also the life of charity, for charity is man’s only true way of responding to the charismal gift of the spirit, Grace. Faith in the creative power of the spirit, Hope that the Transfiguration shall come and find us fully awake to behold this ‘marriage of heaven and earth’; and the greatest of all, Charity to men everywhere – in the name of the spirit.

“True charity (agape) can only be, at the level of still ego-bound men and women, the pouring out of what the traveler on the Illumined Road has received as Grace. The man flooded with Grace must give charity, which is perfect love, if he is to receive greater spiritual abundance in his soul; but that charity can only be true to the spirit, if it comes indeed from the divine spirit, even though it be released through the individual man. To give out charity means, first of all, to experience oneself as an agent of the spirit, as a focusing of the divine Whole. Charity is not of the ego, but of God through the ego transformed into soul. It is as the soul overflows with Grace that the whole organism of the spirit-illumined man or woman is also able to radiate charity. The gifts of a privileged nation filled with earthly goods, egocentricity and collective self-complacency can be bitter to the peoples ravaged by a catastrophe for which the whole o humanity is responsible.

“Yet it was as the presence of Neptune became revealed to Western man that society at large began to respond to the call of mercy and humanitarianism, and even the most egocentric business baron found it necessary to henceforth to bestow the social semblance of charity to the victims of the system that had enthroned him…”

Venus at 9 degrees Capricorn squares Uranus in Aries at 8:13 pm Thursday. Venus-Uranus aspects seem to always involve meeting foreigners or unusual people who shift you out of your comfort zone. These are almost always short-lived relationships, even the romantic involvements. The Uranian person serves his purpose and moves on . . . Sometimes this aspect accompanies a sudden job change.
Venus at 9 degrees Capricorn is conjunct intense Pluto at 4:30 pm Friday. The conjunction (and the square) are often aspects of obsession, especially romantic obsession. Sometimes comes with meeting one’s Soul Mate. It may just bring intense experiences in that department of your life. Capricorn is not a very romantic kind of guy, so maybe it will take the form of a transformation (Pluto) of his financial (Venus) condition.
Looking Ahead – We have a Full Moon at 25 degrees Taurus at 10:16 am Sunday, Nov. 17 – this is way too close to the dreaded Algol for my comfort, tho Jupiter is in a kindly and protective trine to the Sun.

Your Milky Way Horoscope June 9-15, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Venus at 10 degrees Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn at 6:06 pm Tuesday. Venus-Pluto opposed or squared generally signify power struggles or sometimes a romantic obsession. You may meet someone that you believe is your soul mate, although the other person may have differing views on that. You may run into a controlling, abusive type, too, so watch for the warning signs and if seen, run do not walk the other way. There may be either a financial or romantic crisis.
Saturn at 5 degrees Scorpio trines Neptune in Pisces at 7:18 pm Tuesday. It’s a beautiful thing to see when hard work and discipline (Saturn) labor on behalf of ideals and selflessness (Neptune) – or in other words, Compassion blended with Experience to enable us to build that better world but with a solid foundation. Society can become a better place if more people did this at least one day a month! And without any rose-colored glasses!
Venus at 11 degrees Cancer squares Uranus in Aries. Venus-Uranus transits seem to always bring interesting if strange people into our lives, altho almost always for the short term. These strangers may be foreigners, those who speak a foreign language, those who have unconventional or even bohemian lifestyles, or just people with very different habits and ways of thinking. They appear in order to shake you out of your ruts!
There is a Grand Trine in water signs late Sunday. Moon in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio, and Neptune in Pisces between 11 pm and midnight ET. Favorable for brain-storming, listening to one’s intuition, or simply letting one’s feelings wash over you as you listen to music or watch a film. Watching a historical (Saturn) movie (Neptune) might send you into a reverie (Moon) of living in a past life. Taking notes on your thoughts can help you sort through those feelings and hopefully become more self-aware of your motivations and inner goals. Later, Saturn is exactly trine Neptune Tuesday night, so you might try another historical reverie session.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Jan. 6-12, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury at 9 degrees Capricorn is conjunct Pluto at 11:42 am Sunday. Favorable Mercury-Pluto aspects can be utilized in adopting a positive affirmation or mantra for the week to come. Mercury sextiles Saturn at 6:44 pm the same day, adding a layer of self-discipline to the mix of planetary energies. Mercury-Pluto is not very talkative, since you are busy turning over clues in your mind as you solve assorted mysteries. Mercury-Saturn is very serious and sticks to facts or number-crunching, sometimes they are in a role of authority such as teaching or running a seminar.
Mars at 10 degrees Aquarius squares Saturn in Scorpio at 2:33 pm Monday. Mars as a signifier of health may be challenged Monday by restrictions, poor health, being physically blocked from moving forward, etc. Yet the Mission comes first with Mars-Saturn aspects, so sick people may go in to work anyway. The aspect is also very organized; you get at the junk drawer, your purse, old files, and toss what is no longer needed.
Venus enters the sign Capricorn at 11:11 pm Tuesday. Venus in Capricorn is very disciplined and dutiful. She holds onto her looks better in Cappy than in possibly any other sign, since she is more careful to maintain her weight and make herself exercise. Venus in her rulership of values is a bit too socially ambitious in Capricorn for my taste, altho there are some with this placement who are so fearful of social rejection that do not even enter the fray. Venus in Capricorn does have a knack for manipulating physical resources to meet her needs. For example, she can budget well in order to meet a financial goal, she can see how to turn a tablecloth into a shawl or a dress, etc. Famous people with Venus in Capricorn include: Joan of Arc, Robert F. Kennedy, Richard Burton, Prince Andrew, and Caroline Kennedy.
Venus at 1 degree Capricorn sextiles Neptune in Pisces at 12:46 am Thursday. Sensitivity to music or other arts is high, and performers may be able to pull out a better performance than they thought they were capable of. You get going on creative projects. You might be a wee bit spacey, but you are just listening to higher vibrations today.
Venus at 5 degrees Capricorn squares Uranus in Aries at 11:13 pm Saturday. Venus-Uranus squares usually denote meeting a fascinating stranger, even falling in love with that stranger, but the square usually denotes a short-term relationship if any. Someone could suddenly propose, but think very carefully whether you would still like this person five years from now. Venus as ruler of financial issues can also find itself with a cash flow problem, or changing jobs.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Nov. 20-26, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun in Scorpio squares Neptune at 28 degrees Aquarius at 3:42 pm Sunday. Hard aspects between Sun and Neptune generally make it difficult for us to see ourselves clearly; maybe we have some self-delusion we cling to and which leaves us vulnerable to unscrupulous sales people. So get a reality check before you write a check. With some of us, the Sun brings unwelcome publicity to things we would rather remained a deep, dark secret.
The Sun enters Sag at 11:08 am Tuesday. Happy birthday to all the little centaurs. Sun in Sag is optimistic (sometimes unrealistically so), has faith in the future, wants to be part of the big picture, and tends to inspire others with their optimism exuberance. Has the ability to be brilliant but rarely disciplines self long enough to really master anything. Loves the outdoors and the active life. This love of activity may also be expressed in careers in firefighting or other emergency services. Famous Centaurs include Mary Martin, Frank Sinatra, James Thurber, Walt Disney, Winston Churchill, Mark Twain, Joe DiMaggio, Charles de Gaulle, and siblings Caroline Kennedy and John F. Kennedy Jr.
Thanksgiving features a Scorpio moon for most of the day, presumably including sitting everyone down to the feast. Scorpio is most likely to actually host the family feast; the stuffing might include oysters, and the table have a crab salad. Scorpio lends a more spiritual mood to the day; we may be truly thankful to have everyone together. Black Friday features the Moon in Sag, appropriate for shoppers buying multiples of every item and probably overshooting their budgets.
However, bad news for merchants lies in the form of Mercury going retrograde early on Thursday (at 20 degrees of Sag). We usually enjoy a bit of boost from Mercury going direct sometime during the Christmas shopping season — and that is not in evidence this year as least not until Mercury goes direct on the night of Dec. 13. Merchants will be frantic to get shoppers to actually part with some money; I see heavy price slashing throughout the period. I might mention that there is a grass-roots movement to make Sat., Nov. 26 a “Buy Local” event. See Facebook for details about that at: https://www.facebook.com/SmallBusinessSaturday?extlink=ps-gabmd-2011SBS-GoogleSearch
Venus in Sag sextiles Neptune at 28 degrees of Aquarius at 8:52 pm Thursday. We squint a bit at the ones we love and overlook their faults. Good for creativity and expressing universal ideals.
Venus is again active on Saturday night. She squares Uranus at zero degrees of Aries at 9:27 pm. I think I’ve warned you about the squares before. One can become entranced by foreigners or unusual people, generally to no avail as the parties repel each other as much as they attract each other. Any relationship is generally short-lived but enjoy it while it lasts, hon. And I speak from experience.
Venus enters hard-headed and practical Capricorn at 7:36 am Saturday. Venus in the sign of the goat is practical, a bit of social climber, and insists on quality goods. Can be very good at mastering etiquette at the highest levels of international protocol all the way down to the local club. Some have a gift for helping others see HOW to manifest their goals.
PS – I listed a few used astrology books for sale on Amazon Books; Part Two was posted July 1! **Includes a classic Alan Leo book** Look for reviews in my column with a link to the listing. Even more titles to come soon. Thanks for your support (and patience). Note that the Intuition book, listed in Part One, has sold.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Times given are in Eastern Standard Time or Eastern Daylight Savings Time, depending on the season.

ARIES – March 20-April 19 – The solar eclipse in your solar ninth house may signal a long trip, or at least a breaking away from the mindset that you grew up with. Your consciousness may expand thru travel, reading, formal or informal study, or personal experiences. You may even have some kind of adventure, so keep a journal. The square to Mars may bring fevers, or new tools to use in your work. Mercury going retrograde in your solar ninth house may signal mixups in legal matters or having to redo everything with a new lawyer, book editor, or website.

TAURUS – April 20-May 20 – The solar eclipse in your solar eighth house accents your hidden talents as a practical alchemist, a healer, or a metaphysical master. You may help warring parties arrive at common values to heal their relationship. You may take up a sport, game or dancing. Mercury going retrograde in your solar eighth house may signal mixups in wills, joint accounts, or any pooled resources.

GEMINI – May 21-June 20 – The solar eclipse in your solar seventh house accents relationships and partnerships; the partner may be a foreigner or someone quite unusual. The importance of honoring commitments and contracts will be impressed on you, possibly in connection with work done on your home. Mercury going retrograde in your solar seventh house may signal mixups in public appearances or in communicating with your mate.

CANCER – June 21-July 22 – The solar eclipse in your solar sixth house activates your ability to help others realize a good mind-body balance. You may become more active, more outdoorsy, or even take a long trip. VIRGO – Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo as the week begins, where it stays till Sunday night. Sunday morn you focus on feeling that your efforts are not appreciated, much less reciprocated. Instead, train loved ones to say thank you and please. The supper hour is very pleasant, possibly spent at a local restaurant. The solar eclipse in your solar fourth house activates your ability to help others get centered within themselves, the source of any real sense of security. You may also become much more focused on goals, like a samurai warrior. Mercury going retrograde in your solar fourth house may signal mixups with family members, or appliances going on the fritz.

LIBRA – Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 8:16 pm Sun.-Tues. night. Do not let your mate get your goat Sunday night; he is unsettled from the Uranus transit. Instead, try to calm and assure him. Monday morning resolve to master yourself no matter what before going in to work. You really are your own master, and you serve whom you will. A sibling may compliment you Tuesday. You may have to work to keep your mood up at times, but Tuesday pm may present a happy surprise. Treat yourself to a movie that night, with popcorn. The solar eclipse in your third house helps you keep things circulating; you may start to convey information to others that they need to know. Mercury going retrograde in your solar third house may signal mixups in every kind of communication, especially with siblings.

SCORPIO – Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Moon is in Scorpio from 8:58 pm Tuesday till Thursday night. You may benefit from alternative medicine Tuesday night. Try not to go over the top about anything. A bit of friendly competition Wednesday morn gives you a boost. The holiday Thursday puts you in a spiritual mood. My only caveat is don’t indulge in foods/drinks you know you are sensitive to, no matter how gorgeous they look. A solar eclipse in your second house of money helps you manifest what you want — once you know what it is you want. Mercury going retrograde in your solar second house may signal errors in bank statements, or in balancing your account, or delays in crediting deposits.

SAGITTARIUS – Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 8:57 pm Thursday till Saturday night. You get a burst of that “Born to be Wild” energy Thursday night. You benefit from a New Moon at 2 degrees Sag at 1:10 am Friday. This is a Solar Eclipse, so note developments in the next several months, especially in relation to your search for truth. The eclipse features a square to Mars (you are forced to act, possibly in an aggressive manner) and a trine to Uranus (breaking free from societal boundaries).

CAPRICORN – Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from 10:05 pm Saturday thru the weekend. The solar eclipse in your solar twelfth house helps you let go of trying to control the minutiae of others’ lives. You learn to listen to that quiet inner voice and achieve a measure of serenity. You may be forced to it, though, if your demands on others lead them to excommunicate you from their lives. You may take a crash course in something, or devour every book on a topic in your desire to know everything about it. Mercury going retrograde in your solar twelfth house may signal that it is you who shoots yourself in the foot with misstatements and errors in calculation.

AQUARIUS – Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The solar eclipse in your solar eleventh house may activate involvement in humanitarian organizations, as you help others realize their hopes for a better life. You can inspire, and your own efforts prod others to join in. You may be thrust into emergency situations and find out what you’re made of — and arriving at a renewed passion for life. Mercury going retrograde in your solar eleventh house may signal mixups re club meetings, lost minutes of prior meetings, or friends who have to cancel out of gatherings.

PISCES – Feb. 18-March 19 – The solar eclipse in your solar tenth house may activate involvement in community affairs ranging from the PTA to politics to the church to activism. Your inner rebel finds an outlet, but hopefully not in the form of tossing out your mate or other loved ones. Mercury going retrograde in your solar tenth house may signal mixups in career stuff like interviews that go badly, or glowing promises that are not carried out.

Your Milky Way Horoscope July 26-Aug. 1, 2009

Venus trines Jupiter-Neptune-Chiron during the wee hours on Monday. It is easy to pig out on an excess (Jupiter) of sugar or sweets (Venus). And with Neptune near, diabetics should be especially careful about monitoring their diet. Chiron can warn of such illness or disease, and frankly I would not even buy sweets that day.
Venus squares Uranus in Pisces on Tuesday afternoon. It is quite possible to fall in love, or experience a small cash windfall. Uranus is surprises, after all, and Venus rules cash, the dollar, sugar, love, gifts, favors, cattle, and copper. I wonder if copper prices will see a swing. Make note of what house is occupied by these transits.
Mercury is opposite Jupiter early Thursday morn. Jupiter is the higher octave of Mercury, meaning that Jove rules the big theories and principles and college, while Mercury is the ‘how-to’ details, and grade school. They oppose, which is difficult, but you could work out a way to apply some principle to your own situation if you think on it hard enough.
Mercury in Leo opposes Neptune on Friday. Mercury-Neptune aspects tend to muddle communications, when what we say or write comes out confusing or just plain contrary to what we meant to say. So double-check your emails and other messages, both for content and for recipient lists.
Venus enters Cancer on Friday evening. Cancer is a most family and home-loving sign, and you may express your love of home by redecorating, painting or bringing in flowers from the garden. Look at how beautiful are the veggies you pick from your back yard, and arrange them attractively on the plate of antipasto. Cancer can be so home-loving, that they just can’t tear themselves away on that vacation they had planned this August.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
