Your Milky Way Horoscope May 31-June 6

Mars enters Taurus on Sunday at 5:18 pm Eastern time. Mars is not considered strong in this sign, but some famous boxers have had Mars here, including Joe Louis. Mars in Taurus needs some physical work as an outlet for his tireless energies, or they erupt in argument and resentment. And with Mercury having just gone direct the day before, hurtful words can burst from your mouth before thinking! This a time to make a point of counting ten before replying.

Venus also enters Taurus on Saturday. Ah, the Bull begins to feel much more like his old self again. Take time to smell the spring blossoms or take pictures of them. Seeking the beauty around you restores your spirits and makes you feel that all is well with the (messed-up) world after all.

Your Milky Way Horoscope May 24-30

By Milky Way Maid

This is the week of the fabulous Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, an event that may well herald a new awakening of spiritual consciousness. I recently read that the last conjunction brought, among other things, the enormous, immortal literary hit, A Christmas Carol, which popularized the keeping of Christmas but also the idea that we are our brother’s keeper. Victorian England let the sick and weak die off, but the Dickensian tale instigated a commitment to caring for the poor, and allotting a living wage to the working classes. Our cynical, scientific age which places inordinate faith in technology to improve our lives, is sorely in need of renewing its spiritual energies. Let’s hope that the energies of this conjunction find fertile ground here.
Signs likely to be most receptive are the air signs, (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) and also fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sag). The other fixed signs (Leo again, Taurus, Scorpio) may be sorely challenged but also find a great opportunity if they are open to it. Cancer may not relate to its energies at all, and need to make a real effort to understand what it is all about. Ditto with Virgo, who may be too cerebral and earthbound to relate. The neighboring signs Capricorn and Pisces may feel its effects only peripherally, even tho the planets involved are Pisces’ dual rulers.
Sunday is a New Moon in Gemini at 3 degrees 28 minutes. It is at 8:11 am Eastern time. It squares Saturn in Virgo, and is inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn. Geminis will probably have to keep their noses to the grindstone (Saturn) this month, so don’t expect a lot of play time. Scratch that, Geminis can make play out of any work, and manage to find fun anywhere. But their free time may be very squeezed by necessity. Geminis will likely also take on more responsibility, too. It can also indicate breaking ground for planting a veggie garden, since Saturn is farming and Virgo is an earth sign.

And rah, Mercury goes direct on the 30th and we can resume our normal mode. Speech-makers may resume public speaking and be reasonably sure they’ve got their facts straight. And shoppers may miss finding unreal bargains but the goods are more likely to be first quality. However, travel is not favored the weekend after the holiday, with lots of snafus probable; better to stick to home and backyard or local park.
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect.

ARIES – March 20-April 19 – The Gemini New Moon activates your solar third house of relatives and communications. Meanwhile your friends may be very deeply touched by the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction. Aries is a midpoint sign between these two influences, and with Venus in your sign representing values, you may debate (Mars in Aries) pressing issues of the day. Aries is not often eloquent but you may voice the questions in trenchant fashion. You might even be quoted somewhere. Best days this week: Sun.-Mon. and Thurs.-Fri.

TAURUS – April 20-May 20 – Mercury goes direct in your sign at 22 degrees 52 minutes on Sat. evening; new info may have come to light recently and you may have to redo lots of plans. Have a Plan B, too! Jupiter-Neptune in solar career house asks you to found your business upon an ideal. Perhaps setting up a non-profit company, or a a film or music business would work for you. New Moon in Gemini in your solar second house is auspicious for increasing your income, but the square to Saturn says you will have to work hard for it. Best days this week: Tues. and possibly Sat.

GEMINI – May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from early Sunday till late Monday night. The New Moon is in your sign, so see notes above. Sunday is quite serious in tone, even somber. It can also indicate breaking ground for planting a veggie garden, since Saturn is farming and Virgo is an earth sign. Monday is much more agreeable, with a sextile to Venus-Mars in the morning (good physical energy, with a possible romantic sparkle) and trines to Jupiter-Neptune in the evening (great movie night, great time for listing your dreams and hopes).

CANCER – June 21-July 22 – The Moon is in Cancer from late Monday till very early Thursday. Some of you may have your Sun squaring the Venus-Mars cluster in Aries lately, and that can get your goat if experiencing friction with a boss, but it can also create some sexual tension. Make sure those professional boundaries are in place! Tuesday may go easier than Wednesday, and you may even be the recipient of a “random kindness”. Several inconjuncts clutter your Wednesday, and you may have to find work-arounds and make other adjustments. A Moon square Mars very late can send you into a frenzy of activity which you will find was totally unnecessary. Rest up on the holiday!

LEO – July 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from early Thursday till early Saturday. Thursday afternoon gives you a chance to shine with a sextile to Sun in Gemini; perhaps emceeing or speechifying is on the agenda. Transiting Moon squares Mercury on Friday afternoon, tho, and transit or communications are not likely to go smoothly. Moon trines Venus minutes later, so picking up the phone may get you good news (fishing for compliments should be productive, too, wink). Moon opposes Jupiter-Neptune in the evening, you could get lost looking for a cinema but downloading instant movies might be better, and hugely enjoyable.

VIRGO – Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon enters Virgo about 6 am Eastern Saturday. The Moon in your sign rules that weekend, so I see a lot of backyard farming going on. The Moon is conjunct Ceres 7:15 pm Eastern on Saturday, with a trine to Pluto late morning the same day. This is great for working the soil, and spreading that ol’ magic manure (Pluto). (Ceres rules the food supply, among other things.) Wait till after Moon conjunct Saturn on Sunday morn before you actually plant the seeds.

LIBRA – Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Jupiter-Neptune conjunction falls in your fifth house of recreation, gambles, and creative expression. Artistic pursuits are favored especially if you can initiate something under the rays of the conjunction. Call up a gallery or sign up for a juried show. In this recession, the magic word is still “free” so find some way of sharing art with the general public and children, too. Good publicity still works. The New Moon in Gemini activates hopes for national attention and that is strongly reinforced by the Aquarius conjunction. The more in tune with its vibes you are, the more people will latch onto your work and ideas. Best days this week: Sun.-Mon,. and Thurs.-Fri.

SCORPIO – Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Jupiter-Neptune conjunction are in your solar fourth house of home and family, so obviously these will be key issues for you. Ultimately, the whole human race is your family, and the whole wide earth (and heaven) your home. You may feel called to serve humanity in some capacity; those in healing or helping professions may shift their focus a bit. The New Moon in Gemini is never easy for you; the inconjunct calls for adjustments and creative adaptation. Possibly frustrations in conceiving children may lead you to adopt or foster children. Best day this week: Tues.

SAGITTARIUS – Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Jupiter-Neptune conjunction involves your ruler, yet the involvement of Neptune may confuse you at first. If you are truly opened to a larger spiritual life, its influence will be welcomed with joy. You may suddenly start voluminously reading books and online articles relating to this phenomenon. You may travel to hear speakers and attend conferences relating to this new wave. “What’s it all about?” you ask, and want to hear everyone’s take on it. Best days this week: Sun.-Mon. and Thurs.-Fri.

CAPRICORN – Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The holiday Monday will not feel comfortable; beware of foods left out too long on picnic tables because the Moon in your sixth house of health will be squared by transiting Uranus (upsets). Tuesday could bring a guest to your home or possibly an exchange student; you are delighted with this young person. Wednesday you will probably have to sooth and fix; your life mate is likely all upset over appliances breaking or gutters leaking, so be prepared to pull out the trusty tools. Best days this week: Tues. and possibly Sat.

AQUARIUS – Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – Ah, Aquarius, could this be the fabled dawning of the Age of Aquarius, with the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction this week? It is certainly going to inspire some memorable works in the arts, such as books and films. Are you a part of this spiritual renewal? The New Moon in Gemini, your solar fifth house of fun, children, and arts, is activated. Perhaps you will take part in a school field trip, escorting a class to a film or exhibit related to some New Age ideas. Best days this week: Sun.-Mon. and Thurs.-Fri.

PISCES – Feb. 18-March 19 – You will be so close to the goings-on related to events inspired by the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, yet you will be left wondering what the fuss is about. Well, go find out. The New Moon in Gemini, your solar fourth house, activates issues of home and family. A popular book (with movie due out soon) debates issues of whether human beings are merely conveyors of genetic material. What makes an individual unique? Do we own our own bodies? If each life is sacred, how can anyone take our unique DNA and just blend it with someone else’s? Best days this week: Tues. and possibly Sat.

Your Milky Way Horoscope May 17-23

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun enters Gemini on Wednesday at 5:51 pm Eastern, so happy birthday to all “Twins”.
A fabulous opportunity for starting new ventures comes with the conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune next week Wednesday; I just wanted to give you an advance heads-up on this so you can plan anything from putting a website online to promoting your business.
The Sun conjunct Mercury Monday in a late degree of Taurus could be an interesting opportunity to use this powerful energy to make money or start a new bank account. Use caution because you could just as well bankrupt yourself in a risky venture. Mercury is retrograde, true, but that could mean you revisit a previous attempt and find ways to tweak and improve upon it.
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect.

ARIES – March 20-April 19 – The Moon is in Aries from early evening Tuesday till Thursday evening. Transiting Moon squares Pluto Tuesday so you want to get to the bottom of things, literally or metaphorically. Wednesday evening is “attitude adjustment” time, particularly in dealings with a Virgo; this time favors getting together to clear the air or just get better acquainted. It might even kindle romantic feelings, what with Moon con Venus later that evening. Your energy is high Thursday morning with a Moon conjunct Mars, so use care to direct that energy positively.

TAURUS – April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from Thurs. evening till late Sat. night. You get trines on Friday from the Moon to the other earth transits (Saturn and Pluto). This sounds very serious, but earth trines favor actually producing or building something, whether it is a trinket, a tool, software or movie. Get on the ball if starting your own company. The Moon is conjunct Mercury on Saturday; Mercury is retrograde so I suggest reviewing written materials, records, etc. for clues on how to improve, or just to study for a test. Taurus is music, of course, so you could really have an especially good jam session or recital. Or even write some original tunes. Squares late Sat. give you a chance to put ideals (Jupiter-Neptune) into action.

GEMINI – May 21-June 20 – You can benefit greatly from the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction next week in your solar ninth house of law, publishing, college, national politics, and religion. Part-time instructors could gain full-time status as professors, professors could gain tenure, students can graduate or get scholarships, writers can get their publishing contract, and blogs can gain national followings. In more mundane matters, friends may have to break dates due to work schedule changes so just be flexible and willing to entertain yourself if need be.

CANCER – June 21-July 22 – Tuesday may be your best day this week with Moon in compatible Pisces and its sextiles to Sun-Mercury; boon companions bring laughs and good times. On Wednesday work issues are primary, and meetings will detail changes to protocol or work rules. Friday is very productive although you will be working hard. Issues related to a family business may enter the front burner in the coming weeks. You may have to become more heavily involved in its operations or finances.

LEO – July 23-Aug. 22 – A child who is off at college may have a change of schedule or change majors; talk him out of dropping out tho because a degree is needed just to get in the door these days. Your partner will benefit from the upcoming Jupiter-Neptune conjunction; alternatively, you may benefit greatly from creating a business (or personal) partnership. The Sun-Mercury conjunction in your solar tenth house of career benefits from a sextile to Uranus; a surprising or quick payment from insurance is possible.

VIRGO – Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Late Virgoes can get the benefit of a trine to the Sun-Mercury conjunction in Taurus; revisit “old business” or check your ledgers for errors, clues to how to improve your situation, or just keep an eye on your progress. Also Moon trining your sign from Taurus from late Thursday thru Saturday can give you a very productive week. Early Virgoes will feel the energizing effect as Sun enters Gemini on Wednesday; career matters could pick up. Venus is inconjunct Saturn in your sign this week; issues with your partner’s money or with insurance and wills may need adjusting to keep up with changes in your situation.

LIBRA – Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – You get a fine trine from the upcoming powerful conjunction between Jupiter and Neptune in Aquarius; it is in your solar fifth house of children, fun, creative expression, and gambling or the stock market. You could sponsor a child in an international charity, or a family member could have twins. Your creative endeavors may find a gallery to hold a showing, or you could win mention in a juried show. The Sun moves into the other air sign, Gemini, which will help energize early Librans especially in matters related to law, publishing, college, national politics, or religion.

SCORPIO – Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – The upcoming Jupiter-Neptune conjunction will square your natal placements, Scorp, but this still gives you an opportunity (frequently masked as a challenge) to deal with home and family issues. You may be able to hold off foreclosure, or buy some of those fire-sale-priced properties. Late Scorpios could benefit from the Sun-Mercury conjunction in Taurus, on Saturday, in their solar house of partners; take the opportunity to get to know your partner better, perhaps with one of those marriage enrichment classes.

SAGITTARIUS – Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – You benefit from the Sun’s entry into compatible Gemini on Wednesday. You may gain friends or a wonderful business partner. You may have more occasion to appear in public such as emceeing or doing interviews. Your balance between work and fun may need adjusting as I feel you will be getting longer hours at work, at least for the near future. Third house matters will gain an increasing amount of your time with the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction making itself felt (although it is not exact till next week).

CAPRICORN – Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – Uranus in your solar third house is sextile the Sun-Mercury conjunction in Taurus on Monday; your week starts off auspiciously with good news and introductions to people who may be significant to you in time. Be sure to followup as some messages are sure to be lost under the Mercury retrograde. These people may be connected to you in fun activities like sports, games, gambling, arts, or other creative activities. A child may go off to college in another state and leave you with an empty-nest feeling; send him a pre-paid calling card to keep in touch.

AQUARIUS – Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius as the week begins Sunday, until mid-morning. Your Sunday is bathed in the rosy glow of the near Jupiter-Neptune conjunction. Not sure if this means luxuriating in bubble bath, hot tub, or just by the pool, or volunteering in a local charity. Both will fit. You may be called out of town to visit a close relative who takes a turn for the worse; hope your partner is supportive of that. Also a child may have another surprise expense but it isn’t really his fault.

PISCES – Feb. 18-March 19 – The Moon is in Pisces from mid-morning Sunday till early evening Tuesday. Sunday suits clearing out closets for items to donate to Goodwill, due to a Moon-Pluto aspect (Pluto clears out and wipes out). Monday is a nose-to-the-grindstone day with an opposition to Saturn, and boy do you resent it. But Tuesday is more agreeable with sextile from Moon to Sun-Mercury in Taurus and a conjunction to Uranus. You could get inspired by music or inspired to write music.

Your Milky Way Horoscope May 10-16

Happy Mothers Day to all! This year it comes on the heels of a Full Moon in Scorpio, lending a spiritual flavor to the weekend. The Moon is opposite Mercury the night before also, so make sure you clarify your agenda for Sunday. Sunday has easy trines from the Moon (mom) to Venus (gifts, flowers, perfume, jewelry), as well as to Mars, so you might take mom to a sporting event, hit the links, or go dancing that night.

Saturn stations direct on Saturday at 10:06 pm Eastern time at 14 degrees 55 minutes of Virgo. But Saturn moves so slowly that you will probably not detect any change till it is well on its way forward. Projects that had been stagnating may finally get a go-ahead, rules may be finalized, Saturn has been retrograding for so long, since the very end of 2008, that we may have trouble remembering what projects we laid aside. Anyway, Saturn’s first aspect after going direct is an opposition to the Moon on May 18. The Moon is the general public, and the public may not like some new rules being handed down from on high; the public may not like some of its new governmental representatives, or scientific announcements (Saturn rules science), or restrictions on travel (or whatever) due to the H1N1 flu.
Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect.

ARIES – March 20-April 19 – Your ruler Mars receives a lovely trine from the Moon late Sun.; your wife may be the beneficiary of your affections. The Moon squares Mars on Wed. pm; you may be too revved up and start working madly on a pile of work before clarifying what needs to be done. Mars gets a sextile from the Moon Sat. morn and you will be happy as a clam working (or playing) with friends. The good news about Mercury retrograde is that when it re-enters your second house of money, mislaid checks or mail may turn up and solve some mysteries. The Saturn station affects health matters so see that you do not neglect checkups.

TAURUS – April 20-May 20 – Moon plus Pluto in your solar ninth house of higher education Tuesday may have you researching the library stacks for your term papers. Mercury retrogrades into Taurus Wednesday, at almost 8 pm Eastern Time. Things you thought were squared away may have to be rehashed or revised. Sun in Taurus receives a trine from the Moon and a sextile from Uranus Thursday morning; a woman friend may be able to help you with tutoring or computer gizmos. The Sun in Taurus squares Neptune Saturday about 10 pm Pacific/1 am Eastern. You need some feedback to keep in touch with reality; ask best friends for makeover tips; get comments to your blog.

GEMINI – May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in easy aspect when in Aquarius this week, Thursday evening till Sunday morning. Spend time with close friends Friday night under a Moon-Venus sextile. Share a jog or workout with sporty friends on Saturday as the Moon sextiles Mars. The Saturn station in your solar fourth house can affect your housing situation, obviously. I know individuals who are buying or moving into new homes this spring so if your location is an issue, check around for listings or mortgage assistance.

CANCER – June 21-July 22 – I think the only matter that may affect you in regard to the Saturn station is that the family car may finally take its last gasp. Or you could lose a cell phone/iPhone. In other words, things under the general heading of communications, transportation, messages. Aggravating, I am sure, but usually no one dies of it. Usually, :~). If looking to get out of a phone contract, there are some companies that will buy out the old contract when you switch to the new provider. See Credo* online about that, for one.

LEO – July 23-Aug. 22 – The Saturn station in your solar second house will affect your cash flow or possessions; for example it can have you working like a dog on overtime, or change your shift (day to night or vice versa). Temporary jobs can come to an end, or new ones start under this transit. Frankly I think it is better for jobs to start while Saturn is direct, but I could be wrong. The fact that Mercury is retrograde confuses the matter, as people can promise you all kinds of things and then they can’t get hold of you. Keep in close contact as they hash out details and revisions to keep you in their plans. The square to Jupiter Saturday can be very auspicious.

VIRGO – Aug. 23-Sept. 22 – Sunday you will host a lovely and harmonious gathering for the holiday. Moon in Capricorn from Tues.-Thurs. are your best days this week, especially Wednesday for creativity or sports. Saturn stations in your sign on Saturday evening. See notes above for more. Saturn in your solar first house is good for going on a weight-loss or exercise program. I have found that a Sun-Saturn conjunction works for quick weight loss, altho it takes lots of hard work.

LIBRA – Sept. 23-Oct. 22 – Tuesday may be the most difficult day with the Moon squaring Mars affecting your fourth and seventh houses; family and partnership can suffer from arguments. You benefit from counseling that digs to the root of troubles. The Moon is in easy aspect while in Aquarius, Thursday into Sunday. Those days may focus on children or on creative projects (the children of your mind-spirit). This is especially true on Friday and Saturday evenings. Saturday’s Mars sextile may make you more physically active; you may also attend a fun sporting event.

SCORPIO – Oct. 23-Nov. 21 – Clubs and groups you belong to may be undergoing revisions and changes in direction, under the Saturn station in your solar eleventh house. If renewal is coming up soon, inquire about their goals to see if that supports your reason for membership. Scorpios who are in school may lose focus under the Mercury retrograde; you can benefit from tutoring or brushing up on earlier coursework.

SAGITTARIUS – Nov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from the previous Saturday night till Tuesday morn. Clear any confusion arising from the Moon opposition to Mercury Sat. night, then have a great brunch together (probably at home). The afternoon and evening are the time for Sag to stretch the legs, in outdoors activities or sports. You will be prone to upsets Monday due to Moon square Uranus, possibly related to appliance breakdown at home. Ah, well, those things can be fixed.

CAPRICORN – Dec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon is in Capricorn from Tuesday morn till Thursday evening. You’re in a deep, deep investigative mood Tuesday, wanting to know everything from who did what to the meaning of life. Fortunately Virgo brings a healthy dinner and snaps you back to the here-and-now. Wednesday is very productive tho you may have to backtrack and redo a few things.

AQUARIUS – Jan. 20-Feb. 17 – The Moon is in Aquarius from Thursday evening till next Sunday morn. You get relatively few aspects Friday, just a sextile to Venus in the evening, so enjoy a relaxing date with your mate on the town. Saturday features a sextile to Mars, so schedule some hard work and/or a workout. The Moon is conjunct Jupiter late Saturday with another one to Neptune in the wee hours Sunday; be cautious of overdoing with alcohol. Better to schedule a movie marathon and a mountain of popcorn with it. Enjoy!

PISCES – Feb. 18-March 19 – The Saturn station opposes your Sun sign; your spouse or business partner undergoes changes in plans. Marriages already on the rocks may decide to terminate, but new ones are likely to last. Car trouble is the most likely effect of Mercury retrograde in your solar third house of transportation and communications. Though it will probably be nothing major, it still is a source of aggravation for those Pisceans easily upset by every setback. The Full Moon in Scorpio on the 9th should give you spiritual fortitude and resilience.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
