Your Milky Way Horoscope Oct. 27-Nov. 2, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Retrograde Mercury at 13 degrees Scorpio is conjunct Saturn at 4:48 pm Tuesday. You may have a tough go of it slogging thru college study material, but hang in there because your efforts will pay off in the end. Because Mercury is retrograde, what you learn or decide may be redone or rethought or taken back. Scientific methods need to be checked against a master “cheat sheet” of some kind.

Mars at 9 degrees Virgo trines Pluto in Capricorn at 6:45 am Thursday. This aspect may make it possible to dig down deep for a second effort on the ball field. It will be like accessing a supercharger!

Friday, November 1 is top-heavy with aspects:

Uranus at 9 degrees Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn at 7:13 am. This square can bring deep and radical changes – a bit like getting radical surgery for cancer, altho some cases may really require such drastic procedures. Some people with natal talents can psychically diagnose illnesses (whether physical or psychological).

Retrograde Mercury at 10 degrees Scorpio sextiles Mars in Virgo at 8:03 am. Mercury sextile Mars can bring a job offer that excites us, or anyway some message that is very exciting. There can be heated arguments or formal debates under such an aspect, or even lawsuits. With the retrograde, something may be wrong with a legal summons or contract, something that could require a do-over.

Sun at 9 degrees Scorpio sextiles Pluto in Capricorn at 1:02 pm. We may be called upon to rise to the occasion, be presented with some challenge that requires we dig down to be a tower of strength for others.

Sun at 9 degrees is conjunct Mercury at 4:16 pm. Sun conjunct the retrograde Mercury is a significant point in the economic cycle, so pay attention to what happens on Wall Street or at the Federal Reserve.

Mercury at 9 degrees Scorpio sextiles Pluto in Capricorn at 6:46 pm. Mercury with Pluto can be an obsession when great powers of focus get fixated on relatively minor items. It’s great for research and detective work of any type, be it medical, legal, criminal, or scientific.

Looking ahead, a Solar Eclipse occurs on the Full Moon at 11 degrees 16′ Scorpio, at 7:50 am Sunday, Nov. 3. The day is filled with easy conjunctions and sextiles, plus the lights are trine Jupiter. Things should be looking up for most people, especially natives of the water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces). The Pisceans may be considering surgery or other medical interventions, given the fact that Chiron is in close aspect with the Full Moon.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. NOTE: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – Sunday morning starts off with laughs at the children’s antics. Uranus in your sign is pulled into the web of planets and asteroids at 8 to 10 degrees of the signs; you may have to make adjustments in the workplace, pay attention to health issues, and of course deal with insurance. On Friday you get emotional about a child’s recital or other public appearance. Aries Halloween costume: Japanese geisha.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – The children’s energies are high after school Tuesday; let them run outside to play before expecting them to settle down to homework or dinner. Family and insurance matters may benefit from seeing an independent agent or perhaps an ombudsman to troubleshoot problems regarding coverage. On Friday you may be quite glad to hear that a family member’s health is on the improve. Taurus Halloween costume: Albert Einstein.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – A neighborhood advocate may be able to help resolve a problem for you. On Thursday, a male family member may face a minor emergency so be prepared to drop everything. A neighbor or relative may be the right person to ask for advice affecting your mate’s problem. Gemini Halloween costume: Marilyn Monroe.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – You feel very good about your job and your paycheck Monday; all is well in your world. Friday morning brings lots of warm fuzzies at watching your child while chaperoning a class field trip. Cancer Halloween costume: Fat Cat Banker.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from Sunday till late Monday. Unexplored territory beckons you for a Sunday morning hike. The afternoon is frustrating tho, when you cannot get answers to your questions. Life is good Monday morning when a child gifts you with a love token. Pallas Athena in your sign trines Venus in Sag late in the week; you may gain recognition for your artistic mastery. Leo Halloween costume: the much-married Liz Taylor.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo from 11:45 pm Monday till Thursday morn. Tuesday favors having a sunny lunch companion. You have an emotional reaction to news Tuesday afternoon and may be quite vociferous in defending your turf. However, Mercury retrograde may force you to stand corrected. Wednesday afternoon brings a helpful friend to lend a hand. The evening favors pampering yourself with a bubble bath, etc. Friday morn brings exciting personal news. Virgo Halloween costume: mermaid.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 8:22 am Thursday till midday Saturday. Thursday morning favors having an inspector look at the house you are considering buying. On Friday morning you may be quite relieved to find money or belongings you had misplaced. Try not to blow things out of proportion on Friday night. Saturday morning favors shopping with a friend, or sharing things out of your closets. Libra Halloween costume: a TV set.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Sun and Mercury in your sign are pulled into the web of planets and asteroids at 8 to 10 degrees of the signs; you may chauffeur a friend to and from the hospital. Tuesday may be your best day of the week, when you can focus on serious matters or get more detail from a mentor. The Moon is in Scorpio from 1:35 pm Saturday thru the weekend. Saturday night favors an outing to the local cinema or other fantasy lands. Scorpio Halloween costume: cow or milkmaid.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – Venus in Sag trines Pallas Athena in Leo; you may find a course in art techniques or actually consider teaching. Alternatively, a woman lawyer or ombudsman may be a real help to you. You feel so relieved Friday to get straight facts from a national non-profit’s local office. Sag Halloween costume: Siamese twin (with spouse).

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – Pluto in your sign trines Mars but it also receives hits from several other planets or asteroids. Health issues cannot be dodged any longer, so pick the best practitioner you can and follow his/her advice. Cappy’s Halloween costume: Mother Nature, or Ringo Starr.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – Juno in your sign is pulled into the web of planets and asteroids at 8 to 10 degrees of the signs. You may drive a family member to and from a hospital visit, for example, or coach him through post-op exercises. Your mate’s appearance in a news story gives you a warm feeling of pride. Aquarius Halloween costume: Marie Antoinette or Napoleon.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – Chiron in your sign is pulled into the web of planets and asteroids at 8 to 10 degrees of the signs; you may be either the patient or the practitioner, but in any case the medical issues addressed affect your life a great deal. Work and career matters see an uptick late in the week with the arrival of a consultant or advisor. Pisces Halloween costume: Mother Nature, or Arnold Palmer.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Oct. 20-26, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Mercury goes retrograde Monday, Oct. 21 at 6:29 am, on 18 degrees 24′ of Scorpio. Also you may wish to make a note of this– Mercury will go direct on Nov. 11 at 2 degrees Scorpio. Mercury retrograde can be a barrel of laughs, really, once things settle down again. But in Scorpio, things can be more serious than mix-ups of schedule – errors can involve making wrong assumptions about guilt or innocence, about fidelity or adultery, about loyalty or betrayal. Mercury will be in my natal first house, so this should be a bit more interesting for me than usual, ha!

The Sun enters Scorpio at 2:10 am Wednesday, sneaking in during the wee hours, and on tiptoe so as not to wake up the wife upstairs. Sun in Scorpio is not one to hang back when it comes to finding out the details of other people’s wishes, needs or desires. They generally will figure out some way of finding out what they wish to know, either by direct or indirect means. Emotions can leak out of Scorpio’s tough hide in a way that can make others uncomfortable or even feel goaded. However, a more mature Scorpio soul can use his intuitive understanding of human nature to uplift, to encourage, and to lend emotional support.

People with Sun in Scorpio can have great personal magnetism, an attraction that has nothing to do with looks. Scorpios are said to be of two or three main types – the scorpion, the snake or serpent, and the soaring eagle for the most spiritually-developed type. Eagles are dedicated laborers for the common good. Scorpios can be quite intelligent plus have the physical stamina to achieve their goals. Famous people with Sun in Scorpio include: soprano Joan Sutherland, artist Pablo Picasso, authors Robert Louis Stevenson and Eugene Ionesco, Marie Curie, Marie Antoinette, Martin Luther, Bobby Kennedy, Richard Burton, Billy Graham, Jonas Salk, Leon Trotsky, and Felix Frankfurter.

The Sun at 2 degrees Scorpio soon trines Neptune in Pisces at 6:41 pm Friday. Spiritual tendencies are stronger under this transit, and favor quiet meditation or walks in natural settings (especially by a body of water or a waterfall). You may even have an ESP experience or something mystical – tuning in to another’s thoughts or feelings, having a peak experience, having a prophetic or powerful dream, etc. Neptune is also strongly idealistic, which can make you vulnerable to being suckered in by a scammer. I get a feeling of buoyancy when thinking of this Sun-Neptune aspect – like a beach ball floating in a pool. Let’s hope that your spirits are buoyed by this transit just like that beach ball!

Mid-morning Thursday finds you energetically doing errands or pinning people down for appointments. Friday morning favors reaching people by phone or email, or paying a personal call. A bit of wine will be nice with Friday’s dinner, just watch out lest you overdo.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – Mercury goes retrograde in Scorpio, your solar fourth house, on Monday; the plans of family members may have last-minute changes or mix-ups so be flexible. VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – Mercury goes retrograde in Scorpio, your solar third house, on Monday; double-check all papers and emails that go out the rest of the month. Also Monday pm is rather stressful for all mutable signs, since your energy mysteriously vanishes, leaving you unable to carry out your tasks. The Moon is void all day Wednesday so stick to routine. Try not to let anyone ruffle your feathers Thursday evening.

Your ruler Venus feels estranged and unloved on Tuesday. The Moon is void all day Wednesday so stick to routine. If you have expectations that a second income may appear Friday, your hope may be illusory. Try not to let your mate ruffle your feathers Thursday evening.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – Mercury goes retrograde in your sign on Monday; you may trip over your own tongue, or make wrong assumptions. The Moon is void all day Wednesday so stick to routine – once that day is past, the Sun’s entry into your sign makes you feel more alive in the brisk fall air. Friday evening favors a romantic dinner near water, possibly with quiet music playing. Don’t let a coworker, or a person in uniform, ruffle your feathers Thursday evening.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – Mercury goes retrograde in Scorpio, your solar twelfth house, on Monday; you can easily be your own worst enemy and say the wrong things. Also Monday pm is rather stressful for all mutable signs, since your energy mysteriously vanishes, leaving you unable to carry out your tasks. The Moon is void all day Wednesday so stick to routine. Don’t let one of the kids upset you Thursday night, just because they are in a rebellious mood.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Oct. 13-19, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Mars enters Virgo at 7:05 am Tuesday. Mars in Virgo is so bent on being proven himself right that he loses the point of it all. Truth is an either-or game to them, where winning means proving not only that he is right, but all others are wrong. Too quick to criticize and judge, particularly on inconsequential details. But that is a description of immature Virgo energy. A more mature Virgo is delighted to show others how to do something so that they can straighten out their lives and develop their talents. They can motivate others to master skills at bookkeeping, crafts such as weaving or sewing, time management, homemaking, nutrition, or management of chronic illnesses.
Mars in Virgo can be very detached as it goes about solving a problem. You are not distracted by emotional considerations (even though it might help you to be more effective at helping others if you could connect on the emotional level). Famous people with Mars in Virgo include: comic Bob Hope, Napoleon Bonaparte, Joan of Arc, baby-doc Benjamin Spock, architect Eero Saarinen, revolutionary Fidel Castro, golfer Ben Hogan, actresses Geraldine Chaplin and Romy Schneider, Alexander the Great, and Chiang Kai-Shek.
Venus at 10 degrees Sag trines Uranus in Aries at 6:04 pm Wednesday. Ah, a charming foreigner, or someone with an accent anyway, looks awfully interesting to you. You may run into rather strange people who alter your idea of what normal is, or challenge you to stretch personal boundaries and definitions. Any friendships or romances struck up under this aspect tend to be short-lived, altho it seems to me that the friendships last a lot longer than the romances.
Mars at 2 degrees Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces at 9:54 pm Saturday. If this aspect contacts any natal planets at 2 degrees or so, then be most careful of your health and conserve your energies. Not that this is life-endangering or anything, but it sure saps your energy. Possible manifestations include fevers or infections (Mars), or enervating illnesses (Neptune) such as flu, chronic fatigue syndrome, malaria, and anything that is hard to diagnose. This is not the time to embark on a long trip or some major project requiring long hours of hard work.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
