Your Milky Way Horoscope May 4-10, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers– Please visit the website of the National Blood Clot Alliance at StopTheClot.org to learn more about blood clots and when you might need to see a doctor about it.

The Sun at 15 degrees Taurus sextiles Jupiter in Cancer at 5:54 am Tuesday. This is a very nice transit for Taureans although they are too likely to use it to visit the all-you-can-eat buffet down the street. (I can get away with saying that because I am a Taurus!) You might choose to celebrate your birthday with friends on this day since everything seems to be going your way, everyone wishes you well or helps you, and you are in a cheerful, buoyant mood. Enjoy it while you can because Saturday will be a bear!

Mercury enters its home sign Gemini at 10:57 am Wednesday. Mercury in Gemini is a chatterbox and a flirt. This Mercury tends to flit from one topic to another; he can be dazzling as quicksilver but doesn’t get into deep conversations. A trivia king or queen. Is very quick to catch on to new information and how to use it, and can be very good at communicating information or directing people on where to find it. Often has a gift for languages or math. Can make a great secretary, clerk, teacher, librarian, linguist, editor, printer or newscaster. Famous people with Mercury in Gemini include: Bobby Darin, William Styron, Robert McNamara, Bob Hope, Audrey Hepburn, and Laurence Rockefeller.

The Sun at 19 to 20 degrees Taurus opposes Saturn in Scorpio at 2:28 pm Saturday. The sun in any sign opposing Saturn hits a milestone of some kind. One may have to say goodbye to people or places, or move, or change jobs, or retire. Check your natal chart to see if this contacts a natal planet, and what house that planet rules, for hints as to what may be in store for you. The good news is that a new cycle begins, but first it can be plenty frustrating because roadblocks seem designed to drive you crazy.

POPE FRANCIS – I finally posted a little article on the new Pope Francis and also a kind of book review on a book that accidentally talks about ancient astronomy. Your Milky Way Horoscope May 12-18, 2013

By Milky Way Maid

Venus at 5 degrees Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces at 4:48 pm Monday. Venus square Neptune is telling you to guard your wallet or purse! A light-fingered person may lift your wallet, or a fast-talker may get you to sign a contract that does you no good, or a totally shifty person tries to romance you. The only good I can see for it is to go to the early show at the cinema. Another positive side: one’s creative imagination and artistic sensitivity can be remarkable, so do practice your piano or write down those songs in your head.
Mercury enters its home, Gemini, at 4:41 pm Wednesday, which oddly enough is Woden’s day, the Norse equivalent of Mercury. Those with Mercury in Gemini can be masters of the game Trivial Pursuit, knowing a little bit about a lot of subjects. Can make a fine editor or writer, since they have mastered clarity of expression. In debates, can deliberately omit a key assumption and arrive at a wrong conclusion, but it takes a sharp listener to catch the error. Sometimes Mercury in Gemini gives excellent manual dexterity, so they are fine seamstresses, craftsmen, carpenters, secretaries, etc. If a native with this placement continually lives on a high level of mental activity without balancing it with practical matters, one can too easily drift into mental strain and nervous breakdown. Famous people with Mercury in Gemini include: comic Bob Hope, onetime Defense Secretary Robert McNamera, former governor Laurence Rockefeller, author William Styron, and singers Bobby Darin and Steve Lawrence.
Mercury at 5 degrees Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces at 3:20 am Saturday. This is very similar to the Venus-Neptune square on Monday. We may be deceived, although this may be due more to confusion than deliberate trickery. But as with the other aspect, avoid signing any papers or contracts at this time. Also, people may feel a bit spaced out that morning, unable to stay focused on daily chores. People may make unrealistic decisions. Even if you give in to the vibe of the day and study mystical or metaphysical matters, one needs to stay grounded.
Venus at 11 degrees Gemini sextiles Uranus in Aries at 12:40 pm Saturday. Venus-Uranus aspects usually have something to do with meeting fascinating strangers, foreigners, or people who are unusual in some way. These are usually short-term relationships or chance meetings, but they do stretch one’s horizons and sometimes force one to dispose of limiting beliefs.

Your Milky Way Horoscope May 20-26, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

As I mentioned last week, on Sunday we have a Solar Eclipse at 0 degrees Gemini at 7:23 pm EDT. And BTW we will have two New Moons in Gemini this month, a very rare occurrence. Along with the emphasis on communications implied by a Gemini eclipse, we will also be seeing Venus cross the face of the Sun in June. And that occurrence has been associated with advances in communications. So keep a keen eye peeled on the headlines for anything related to faster messaging or transport, or possibly a faster conversion to more economical modes of transportation as the Age of Oil dwindles to a close. See also notes last week.
The Sun enters Gemini at 11:16 am Sunday. Gemini natives have a lot of nervous energy which needs an outlet. They need a variety of activities and exercise. Many of them have two different careers, several hobbies, a couple of boyfriends, virtually a double life – and they like it that way. Assets: adaptable, versatile, witty, lighthearted. Weaknesses: sometimes cannot focus on any one thing to completion, spreads self too thin, distracted, shallow. Often smokes to keep hands busy. Would do better to take up knitting or other craft work. Famous people with Sun in Gemini include Judy Garland, Prince Philip, philosopher Sartre, Richard Wagner, JFK, James Arness, Walt Whitman, Thomas Mann, Bob Hope, David and Laurence Rockefeller, Hubert Humphrey.
Mercury enters Gemini at 7:12 am Thursday. People with this placement in their natal charts can collect amazing amounts of trivia. Can be a perpetual student, can enjoy discussing a range of ideas with a wide variety of people. More mature types can handle being teachers or professors. The mind is quick, but one can omit a key premise and then end up with a wobbly conclusion. Also manual dexterity may be emphasized, such as needed by the seamstress, carpenter, secretary, crafter. Stressful transits to Mercury in Gemini can lead to mental strain, overwork, or even breakdowns. May need a more grounded partner in life to see to it that you keep regular hours and get some air.

Your Milky Way Horoscope May 29-June 4, 2011

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun in Gemini trines Saturn at 10 degrees Libra at 5:15 am Wednesday, just about 12 hours before the Solar Eclipse. The aspect will be slowly separating by the time of the solar eclipse later the same day; much better for getting a solid start on your ambitions whatever they may be. Diligence at checking things off your to-do list comes easier with Saturn’s help. And the boss may be watching and taking note, so follow standard procedure at all times. Saturn also represents elders; this is a fine opportunity to consult with a mentor or senior member of the firm.
The Solar Eclipse occurs at 11 degrees, 2 minutes of Gemini, at 4:08 pm Wednesday. It features a prominent Sun-Saturn trine, which is fortunately separating so that we are not crushed underfoot by old man Saturn. (See above for notes) Gemini eclipses often affect performers and other public persons in the U.S., due to our Sag ascendant. Look for some unusual headlines about our public figures.
Mercury enters Gemini at 4:02 pm on Thursday. Gemini is one of its homes; it has two, befitting the dual planet himself. Mercury in Gemini tends to make one the trivia king, but is that really the best use of your talents? If you can focus on just one topic for a little bit, you can master it and teach others the tricks of the trade. Mercury promptly squares Neptune in Pisces. Neptune tends to throw pink dust in our eyes, making see only what we want to see instead of reality. Now, you could try blending these planetary energies by constructive use of some affirmations. Affirmations are words or ideas (Mercury) that we meditate on (Neptune) in order to override whatever negative programming we may have suffered earlier in our lives.
Mercury in Gemini sextiles Uranus at 4 degrees Aries at 3:57 pm Saturday. This could be a serendipitous day. New puzzles to tease your brain, breaking out of routines, a funny conversation with a unique person, or a casual verbal exchange that spawns exciting ideas – these are all symbolized by this aspect. You might pick up some article on a Uranian topic, such as astrology, technology, computers, electronics, psychology, or parapsychology.
Jupiter changes signs again, entering the sign of Taurus the Bull at 9:56 am Saturday. Bulls can enjoy Jupiter’s effects into next year, because it will not be leaving their sign until almost mid-June 2012. Taurus tends to put on weight every year even without a transiting Jupiter, so this may not be a very welcome transit. BUT if you use this Jovian energy to broaden your views, expand your influence on others, try new things, then you could dodge the weight-gain bullet. Jupiter in Taurus represents actualizing the potential of your resources; that may mean taking odds and ends and creating something of beauty out of them. Ultimately the best investment you can make is in your own self, so this year may see you taking classes, starting a business, or offering your unique skills and talents to a wider audience. Taurus often works very hard for less pay than they deserve, but Jove may finally smile on your sweet self. Good luck!

Your Milky Way Horoscope June 7-13, 2009

The Full Moon is on Sun., June 7 at 2:12 pm Eastern Time at 17 degrees 7 minutes Sagittarius. The last prior Moon aspect is a square to Saturn in Virgo, and the first aspect after full is an inconjunct to Mercury in Taurus, and a square to Uranus in Pisces. This is a hard Full Moon T-square, altho its impact is lightened by the fact that it is in mutable signs and most people will be able to make an adjustment to the energies of the period, and also because ‘mutable’ means its effect is more transitory. Healthcare issues (Virgo) and hospitals (Pisces) are likely to be in the forefront.
Mercury squares Jupiter on Wed. at 26-27 degrees of Taurus-Aquarius. It is possible you may ‘lose your head’ and go on a spending spree so lock up the plastic. Pent up consumer demand can bust loose after many months of caution, but make sure that what you buy is a good product and a good deal.
Mercury enters its home turf, Gemini, late Saturday. Rah! Communications quicken and sharpen, and replies fly back and forth. Good for taking a class or catching a lecture, as well as short trips.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
