Your Milky Way Horoscope Sept. 2-8, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

Venus at 26 degrees Cancer squares Saturn in Libra at 3:43 am Monday. This may sound funny, but this aspect is not comfortable with just taking the money and running. This Venus prefers to earn her money and pay her own way. Crazy I know, but you can still reward her with a nice dinner together at the end of a hard-working week.

Mars at 7 degrees Scorpio sextiles Pluto in Capricorn at 7:05 am Monday. Mars plus Pluto is a dynamo of unflagging energy who can move a mountain. So take aim at your personal mountain and dig in. Mars also trines Chiron in Pisces this week, so you may have some minor surgery (such as getting a boil lanced).

Mercury at 7 degrees Virgo trines Pluto in Capricorn at 12:46 pm Tuesday. Mercury-Pluto aspects almost always involve digging under the surface or doing research – or just relaxing with a nice mystery novel. You can benefit from greater focus and concentration to get a job done.

Mercury at 8 degrees Virgo sextiles Mars in Scorpio at 4 am Wednesday. This may be a minor aspect but it is good for handwork and crafts, also for sports where hand-eye coordination is needed. You are probably not awake enough to do any knitting at 4 am, but you might perk yourself up with some mental gymnastics on the way to work.

Venus enters magnanimous Leo at 10:48 am Thursday. Leo seeks a great deal of approval (Venus) from others, in the form of applause or thanks or public credit. Anything less may be interpreted as rejection! A mature Leo, though, understands OTHER’S need for acceptance and approval and warmly dishes that out. The Leo Venus is able to inspire others, validate their self-worth, and inspire others to express their unique gifts. Famous Leo Venuses include: talk-show host and game-show king Merv Griffin, author William Faulkner, poet Percy Shelley, golfer Arnold Palmer, playwright G. B. Shaw, conductor Leonard Bernstein, singer and sausage baron Jimmy Dean, singer Eddie Fisher, songwriter Alan Jay Lerner, actress Geraldine Chaplin, author Truman Capote.

Mercury at 15 degrees Virgo squares Jupiter in Gemini at 8:13 pm Saturday. Now don’t exaggerate! Mercury-Jupiter squares are prone to tell tall tales, and that’s OK if everyone knows it’s fiction. And if you are on the receiving end, tell the other guy to sell that story to Hollywood.

Uranus and Pallas are conjunct all week in Aries. Arian energy is expressed in leading; Pallas is a very capable expert in whatever field she chooses. Uranus may mean discovery or “overnight success” or suddenly realizing what it is you are best at.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Aug. 26 – Sept. 1, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun at 7 degrees Virgo trines Pluto in Capricorn at 8:21 pm Wednesday. We rise to the occasion, if the occasion is a crisis or emergency. The rank-and-file workers (Virgo) align with the management (Capricorn) – not sure if this is good or bad. Plutonian management might be fooling the workers into something that only benefits the management.
Mercury at 26 degrees Leo sextiles Saturn in Libra at 9:25 pm Wednesday. Libra politely tells someone goodbye. Saturn is science, so Mercury-Saturn is good for scientific papers, discussions, analysis, and research in general. Libra can sometimes be a worrier, and with Mercury bringing the nervous system in to the equation, that can spell insomnia and other nervous upsets. Although I must add that at the same time, the sextile is beneficial for starting positive HABITS, another Saturn item when you consciously (Mercury) choose to adopt a positive habit – probably just so you can fit into your designer duds (Leo).
We have a Full Moon Friday at 9:58 am – Moon at 8 degrees Pisces and Sun at 8 degrees Virgo. The Moon trines Mars and sextiles Pluto that morning, and squares Jupiter about 11 hours after the FM. Mercury at 28 degrees Leo squares the nodes, and opposes Neptune at 1 degree Pisces, making a very tight Grand Cross – in a chart set for Washington D.C., Libra rises and the nodes are in the money houses, Mercury in the eleventh and Neptune plus Moon in the fifth. If Neptune is in your own fifth house, I would be very skeptical of any sweet nothings whispered in my ear. You can however harness your idealism (Neptune) in a lot of hard work involving calls to legislators and talking about the issues with strangers.
Mercury enters one of its homes, Virgo, at 10:32 pm Friday. It soon opposes Neptune at 1 degree Pisces – a very mentally confusing and deceiving aspect, so don’t sign any papers – at 5:16 pm Saturday. Mercury in Virgo is good at analyzing and categorizing, sometimes creating endless categories when just a dozen would do. Has the fault of perfectionism, which can paralyze Virgo from accomplishing its goals or reaching out to others. May be quite good in medical fields such as research or lab work, but may not have the requisite bedside manner for a physician. Excels in office support functions where they keep the business running. Also could be a good lawyer in areas using detailed paperwork such as real estate, incorporation, bankruptcy, etc. Famous people with Mercury in Virgo include Lyndon Baines Johnson, classical pianist Vladimir Horowitz, Dag Hammarskjold, Leonard Bernstein, razor-witted Truman Capote, actress Anne Bancroft, Alan Jay Lerner, architect Eero Saarinen, and golfer Ben Hogan.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Aug. 19-25, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

The Sun at 27 degrees Leo sextiles Mars in Libra at 5:45 pm Monday. A good day for tryouts for team sports at the school you or your child will attend this fall. It’s also a good time to initiate projects, get the ball rolling on things like signing up for courses, the PTA, or just having one more cookout party before fall. Mars is muted by being near Saturn, so this is not as energizing a transit as it should be – but because Mars is separating from the conjunction, Mars is picking up steam oh so slowly.

Happy Birthday, Virgo! The Sun enters Virgo at 1:07 pm Wednesday, sextile the Moon in Scorpio and opposite Neptune in Pisces. The Moon is rising in an ingress chart set for the Midwest, and the Part of Fortune at 10 Capricorn is in the third house, accenting education. (The Moon trines Neptune and sextiles Pluto the same day.) Later the same day, Mercury sextiles Jupiter, helping all the new students learn their lessons in school. (Yes, I know that no one except a few college kids will be in class or even at orientation, but the ingress is probably good for the month.) Vesta and Ceres are near Jupiter in the eighth house, helping obtain tuition loans.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also the sign of their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. Also note: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – You present a very energetic image to others Monday pm. Tuesday night features the Moon conjunct not only Saturn but Mars, too, really cramping your style; but this is only temporary, so go along with whatever your spouse wants to do that night. The Sun enters your solar sixth house of health and work, helping you take a mental checkup of your personal and work routines. You may initiate some programs at work or generate ideas for the suggestion box.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – On Sunday, you manage to knock off several items from the to-do list. The Sun enters compatible Virgo, your solar fifth house of fun and creativity, but with Virgo, your expression tends to be along the lines of decorative small patterns or in writing. Wednesday’s Mercury-Jupiter sextile helps you to improve yourself as a salable entity. Friday could be very frustrating as a T-square affects your money houses; mind where you set down your purse.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – Monday’s Sun-Mars sextile gives a mild boost to athletic efforts as you regain your form. The Sun enters your solar fourth house of home and family; perhaps you throw an open house, or hunt up healthful recipes. Friday’s frustrating T-square affects you personally, and confusion reigns. Don’t blow things out of proportion Sat. morn – midday is much better, with a pleasant Mercury aspect offering a visit from relatives.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – Sunday is when you play catch-up with all the errands you need to run. Midday Monday your spouse could nix that outing you’ve been toying with – and you cannot find anyone to cover for you that night. Tuesday night you feel like you are imprisoned in the home. The Sun enters your solar third house of education and relatives; you may organize a block rummage, or teach a class at the local rec center. Life seems pretty good tho on Thursday morn.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – Monday’s Sun-Mars trine boosts your initiative and energy; a good time to introduce yourself to those few people who do not know who you are. The Sun enters your solar second house, energizing cash flow especially if you are in a field where you deal directly with people. The Mercury-Jupiter sextile Wednesday night favors attending that club meeting or hanging with friends. Midday Saturday’s Mercury trine favors lots of fun and chatter.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – The Moon is in Virgo Sunday. The Moon semi-sextiles Saturn, the Sun, and Mars in the pm, favoring plans to retire debts and manage accounts. Your ruler Mercury makes a pleasant sextile to the Moon Monday night, whispering good financial news. The Sun enters your sign on Wednesday, which generally lends a feeling of well-being and ease. You might look forward to going back to school this fall. Friday’s frustrating T-square affects you personally, and confusion reigns.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 12:45 am Monday till early Wednesday. A “change agent” type may upset your plans for Monday afternoon. You enjoy catching up with a friend’s news after work. Tuesday night’s mood can be discouraging, but it will pass. The Sun enters your solar twelfth house of privacy; you may retire to a quiet retreat for awhile, just to fill up on peace and quiet. Your ruler Venus is more optimistic about your resources Thursday morn.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – The Sun enters your solar eleventh house of friends and groups; you may serve a term as a club officer. The Moon is in Scorpio from 3:54 am Wednesday till Friday morn. The Moon-Neptune trine about 7 am Wed. promises an interesting dream if you roll over for some more shut-eye. Early risers might express their creative energies in art or music. Plans change at the last minute towards the end of the work day. Life looks pretty good Thursday morning.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – The Moon is in Sag from 6:50 am Friday till next Sunday morn. You can feel very torn Friday morning between home and work duties; you might take the day off in the mistaken notion that your sacrifice will mean something to family members. Actually Friday night offers unexpected fun times with the kids. You will feel very generous Saturday morn, possibly too generous for your own good. You may get offers or promises to help midday Saturday, tho one never knows if those are empty promises or what.

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – The Moon in compatible Virgo Sunday gets lots done from your to-do list. You play assorted tugs-of-war Monday – although the late afternoon Sun-Mars sextile welcomes some support from your bank. The Sun enters your solar ninth house of the higher mind; you may name a blog after yourself, or in some way represent a college. You enjoy breakfast with a friend Thursday.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – Sunday may be spent in a support role to your mate. The early part of the week, legal matters and the prospect of school may be enervating, even depressing, but things will start looking up soon. The Sun enters your solar eighth house of pooled resources; you feel more comfortable tackling matters like insurance, taxes, or wills. Be alert Friday, as the T-square affects your money houses and your purse/wallet could be picked.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – Get up off the couch Sunday and help your mate with the heavy stuff. The Sun enters your solar seventh house of partners; someone may walk into your field of vision that you never noticed before. On Thursday morning you promise to take your child shopping for back to school clothes. Friday’s frustrating T-square affects you personally, and confusion reigns. On Saturday morning everyone seems to go over the top about nothing terribly important.

Moon Void of Course List for the Rest of 2012

Supposedly William Lilly wrote about the Void-of-course moon in the 1600s in his book “Christian Astrology”, but for some reason astrologers stopped talking about it and it became a lost secret. Revived by Al Morrison centuries later in a lengthy campaign that more resembled a siege, it finally regained a measure of its former glory.
People wrote in to Mr. Morrison with their experiences using the moon sheets provided by Morrison. Supposedly a banker used it to decide whether to grant loans or not; he refused to grant loans if they asked during a void-of-course moon. He asked for more information from the applicants. And supposedly that banker became a vice-president of the bank because of his sterling loan management success. We will never know if he would have become vice-president anyway without the moon charts, but those are the breaks in the astrology biz.

Your Milky Way Horoscope Aug. 12-18, 2012

By Milky Way Maid

We have a New Moon on Friday at 11:54 am at 24 degrees Leo. The Moon is sextile Saturn just before the NM, and the Moon is sextile Mars about 2 hours after the NM. We will be able to put a fair amount of energy (Mars) into a project. We will want to do our duty, tho we probably won’t be too personally involved; that means hiring someone to clean the house or take care of Mom. We might put down a bit of a guilt trip on someone to do something for us, or vice versa.
Venus at 7 degrees Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn at 5:11 am Wednesday. While the square can mean obsession, the opposition can be any of these: finding a soul mate, all or nothing at all, romantic passion, a transforming love.
Mars is conjunct Saturn at 24 degrees Libra at 6:35 am Wednesday. I well remember having Saturn transit over my natal Mars and how exhausted I felt. Let’s hope this transit does not hit personal natal planets. Mars-Saturn aspects often denote the military or police. It can also have something to do with fear of failure, guilt, getting VERY organized, working out the logistics, ambition or aiming at a goal (either long-term or short-term). You become very focused on accomplishing your mission, regardless of other people’s feelings or other fuzzy stuff like that. If it contacts financial houses, you suddenly buy the bookkeeping software and work out your budget down to the penny. Caution: Mars also denotes debt when in a financial house, so it can also mean being wiped out by interest rates, or erasing a debt.
Mercury direct in Leo trines Uranus at 8 degrees Aries at 7:29 pm Saturday. Mercury trine (or sextile) Uranus is a good time to buy mechanical, electrical, or electronic items such as cars or household appliances. The internet will be the place to be, since Uranus is the hardware, and Mercury is emails and blogging, etc.

A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. A terrific writer and geek found these archived radio recordings of the Beatles for a Swedish radio show way back when. He cleaned them up a bit and edited them, and here they are. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
