Your Milky Way Horoscope JULY 27-AUG. 2, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers– Please visit the website of the National Blood Clot Alliance at StopTheClot.org to learn more about blood clots and when you might need to see a doctor about it.

Happy Birthday to Leos out there! More celebs with Sun in Leo: Tom Robbins, Anthony Kennedy, Maxfield Parrish, Mick Jagger, Beatrix Potter, Frankie Yankovic, David Baldacci, Louis Leakey, Sylvia Sidney, Cecil B DeMille, Annie Oakley, Tim Tebow, Meriweather Lewis.

Venus at 11 degrees Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn at 2:37 am Monday. Venus and Pluto aspects sometimes affect a “soul mate” relationship. With the opposition, there are obstacles or one party rejects the other party. Sometimes the opposition indicates intense soul-searching about what kind of life you want, as well as what kind of love you want.

Mercury enters kingly Leo at 6:46 pm Thursday. Mercury in Leo tends to be rather arrogant – he’s always right because he’s the king, you know. At any rate, when this Leo talks it comes off sounding dictatorial, which makes communication rather one-sided and unsuccessful. However, if one’s message is couched in Leo’s talent for dramatic impact, then communication can be very successful. Leo can sure leave a lasting impression! This Mercury also wants to hear expressions of loyalty. Mercury in Leo does have the advantage of combining the mind with the heart, which makes what he says go straight to the listener’s heart. With his personal charisma, he could be a very popular speaker. Famous people with Mercury in Leo include: author Ernest Hemingway, Napoleon, Beatle Ringo Starr, former talk-show host Merv Griffin, Louis Armstrong aka Satchmo, Fidel Castro, painter Marc Chagall, baseball manager Casey Stengel, and Paul Tillich.

Venus at 16 degrees Cancer squares Uranus in Aries at 12:43 am Friday. First, let’s be clear: Venus can be love or it can be money. Taking the latter first, this transit can bring sudden expenses or sudden windfalls. You may have difficulties re finances: declare bankruptcy, change or lose jobs, or conversely, win a lottery. With love, you may fall in love with the charming stranger or foreigner, or get a proposal of marriage. The square unfortunately indicates too many obstacles for this to be a lasting alliance– maybe he/she is at that party with another date, which he/she is eager to ditch for an interesting dinner with you.

Venus at 16 degrees Cancer trines Saturn in Scorpio at 6:22 am Friday. Obviously this is related to the issues stated above under the Venus-Uranus square. Regarding finances, it is very positive because you are more inclined to stick to your budget, or set up a savings plan. We find a safe investment for our money. Regarding romance, we are comfortable with an older person, or we are happy to link up with someone who is financially stable.

Mars at 3 degrees Scorpio squares Jupiter in Leo at 6:47 pm Friday. Any aspect between Mars and Jupiter can be lucky; the square indicates that we have to make some focused effort to get there because nothing is going to fall into our lap. We are extra competitive at sports or in business, going deep down for that second effort that wins the game. There may be some risk involved, such as with placing a bet on a sporting event, or sinking cash into a start-up. We tend to win more than we lose under this transit, so we feel we are on a roll.

On Saturday, Mercury gets busy – it conjoins Jupiter at 3 degrees Leo at 3:33 pm, while squaring Mars at 3 degrees Scorpio at 8:01 pm. Mercury square Mars is very argumentative, and in Leo it takes on the manner of issuing a royal edict! However, with the conjunction to Jupiter, this Leo may just be right about the facts.

Readers can follow not only their Sun sign horoscope but also their Ascendant for further clues to how your week will develop. NOTE: some aspects are exact on a weekend but may find opportunity for expression on the Friday or Monday nearest the exact aspect. Times given are in Eastern Standard or Eastern Daylight Savings Time depending on the season.

ARIESMarch 20-April 19 – Venus in Cancer in your solar fourth house opposes Pluto Monday; balancing career and family gets tricky, and you may be forced into an either-or decision. Mercury enters your solar fifth house Thursday; try to remember to put your heart into what you say, especially when speaking to children or a romantic interest. Friday can be very lucky for you if playing games of chance or betting on sports, or even if you are competing in some kind of games. Might be best if you took a quick-pick or let someone else invest for you.

TAURUSApril 20-May 20 – Venus in Cancer in your solar third house opposes Pluto Monday; balancing time for friends near and far can get tricky, especially if you are considering a move overseas or going back to university. Mercury enters your solar fourth house Thursday; try to remember to put your heart into what you say, especially when speaking to family members.

GEMINIMay 21-June 20 – Venus in Cancer in your solar second house opposes Pluto Monday; balancing personal and joint finances gets tricky, and debts or loans figure into the equation. Mercury enters your solar third house Thursday; try to remember to put your heart into what you say, especially when speaking to relatives or clerks. Best days are Thursday morn – when ruler Mercury helps you reach people you need to talk to – and Saturday afternoon – when you see the larger pattern and act accordingly.

CANCERJune 21-July 22 – Venus in your sign opposes Pluto Monday; balancing Self and demands by others can get very tricky, especially if your mate demands all your time and attention. Friday pm can be very lucky for you if betting on sports or taking some kind of risk, so sharpen up your basketball free-throw game and team-picking skills. You may have to accept a delay in college or publishing plans for a couple months, until Ceres and Vesta have made things ready for your plans.

LEOJuly 23-Aug. 22 – The Moon is in Leo from Sunday till very late Monday. You may enjoy feeling the wind in your hair while driving Sunday night, but watch out for the local speed trap, hmm? The Moon is void all day Monday so stick to routine matters. Mercury enters your sign Thursday; try not to sound arrogant, but do put your heart into what you say. Ceres and Vesta enter your solar fourth house for a couple months; you may spend the summer away from home, or family members may take off for assorted jobs or courses.

VIRGOAug. 23-Sept. 22 – Venus in Cancer in your solar eleventh house opposes Pluto Monday; balancing time for friends and creative expression gets tricky, and some friends may drop you. The Moon is in Virgo from 11:37 pm Monday till midday Thursday. You manage to reach friends by phone Thursday morning so touch base and confirm lunch dates.

Your audience is too confused for a good post-lunch meeting Tuesday. Best day is Wednesday morn when you introduce a dear friend to a wise old relative or neighbor. You manage to get hold of a friend by phone Thursday morn.

LIBRASept. 23-Oct. 22 – The Moon is in Libra from 12:09 pm Thursday till Saturday night. Thursday night favors spending good times with boon companions. Early risers on Friday can share a congenial breakfast while getting shopping and budget tips. Friday dinner is at a sporting venue, which may be a lucky night for you. Saturday shows lots of activity with friends, possibly at some kind of fund-raising event for a non-profit. You may have to be very strict about budgeting for the next two months and forego luxuries, in order to pay off some debt or save for something special.

SCORPIOOct. 23-Nov. 21 – Your solar ninth house is very active this week; you may meet people from other countries or who have an accent, and enjoy hearing their impressions of the USA. These will probably be short-term relationships, possibly through work contracts or something like that. Mercury enters your solar tenth house Thursday; you could be interviewed for a job this month, or sound like a boss. The Moon enters Scorpio at 10:57 pm Saturday. Ooh, the midnight hour belongs to Scorpio anyway. Ceres and Vesta enter your sign the latter part of the week; you need time to yourself, when you can nurture and care for yourself like a hothouse orchid.

SAGITTARIUSNov. 22-Dec. 21 – Best day may be Sunday although the evening may have its ups and down, like a thrilling roller coaster ride. Mercury enters compatible Leo on Thursday; you have to sound confident and in command of all the facts if you go to court (or talk to a publisher); however guard against sounding arrogant, and remember to put your heart behind your words. Friday also throws some surprises your way regarding friends and finances. Saturday favors a campus visit, online if you are considering free enrichment courses.

CAPRICORNDec. 22-Jan. 19 – Your solar seventh house of partners and the public is active this week. Venus in Cancer opposes Pluto Monday; balancing Self and demands by others can get very tricky, especially if your mate demands all your time and attention. Best day may be Wednesday morn when an older friend is involved. Friday may find you getting rather too interested in a charming foreigner. Joint finances are accented Saturday; you might serve as teller or croupier at your casino-night party.

AQUARIUSJan. 20-Feb. 17 – Mercury enters your solar seventh house Thursday; try to remember to put your heart into what you say, especially when speaking to business partners or your spouse. Best day is probably Friday, when ruler Saturn is trined by lovely Venus; you add a layer of charm to your ambition, and are able to schmooze with the higher-ups like a pro. Ceres and Vesta enter your solar tenth house late this week; you may be passed over for promotion, but the time is just not right yet. Just be patient and work on skills you will need for the big job.

PISCESFeb. 18-March 19 – Venus in Cancer in your solar fifth house opposes Pluto Monday; balancing time for friends and creative expression gets tricky, and some friends may drop you. Mercury enters your solar sixth house Thursday; try to remember to put your heart into what you say, especially when speaking to coworkers or people in uniform. Best day may be Saturday when your ruler Jupiter joins Mercury and you feel extra playful and competitive.

Your Milky Way Horoscope JULY 20-26, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers– Please visit the website of the National Blood Clot Alliance at StopTheClot.org to learn more about blood clots and when you might need to see a doctor about it.

A busy week this last full week of July! Planets making stations, planets changing signs, plus a New Moon! Read on for more.

Saturn is Stationary Direct at 4:36 pm Sunday. It is at 16 degrees 39′ Scorpio. During the retrograde phase we restructured some parts of our lives (or should have). We should have decided to take responsibility for our actions, and for the results of those actions. Setting boundaries is another side of Saturn, a necessary task if we are to avoid being used by others. We might set up a more demanding schedule for ourselves, something that requires more of us than just keeping up with mundane chores. Fixed signs like Scorpio are usually pretty stubborn, and Saturn going direct in such a sign helps you to stick to your guns, aim at a goal, and follow through on promises.
Uranus is Stationary Retrograde at 10:53 pm Monday. It is at 16 degrees 30′ Aries, which is coincidentally inconjunct the Saturn station the day before; inconjuncts sometimes mean things come out of nowhere – life pulls the rug out from under us. Uranus stations tend to make things pretty chaotic for a few days. The Uranus retrograde makes us think twice about doing something outrageous, which may be a good thing. And yet we might plow ahead and go out of our way to upset an apple cart or two. If it contacts a natal planet, we may have trouble finding our niche in life; the energies of that planet contacted may be frustrated. We feel that we are different; well of course we are unique in some way, but we feel we are so different that the society has no place for us. At the very least, we feel uncomfortable about the status quo and start wishing things were different. Dane Rudhyar says the Uranus retrograde involves some kind of Visitation from the Spirit, as the individuality unfolds to a truer expression of the light within.
Mercury at 11 degrees Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn at 2:47 am Tuesday. This sounds like a great transit for research, or for grilling someone for information. You can drill down through layers of data to find the telling details that solve a puzzle.
The Sun enters its home in Leo at 5:41 pm Tuesday. It promptly conjoins Jupiter at 4:44 pm Thursday. Sun in Leo is spontaneous, outgoing, vain, attention-getting, a glutton for approval, and loves to be made a fuss over. But when they turn the spotlight on others, their warmth brings out the Leo in them, too. Likes to be in a position of authority, and makes a good manager in spite of being bored with details and repetition. Leos are magnetic as they draw others to them, especially pulling guests into their home for very entertaining parties. Famous people with the Sun in Leo include: Jackie Kennedy Onassis, poet Percy Shelley, playwright George Bernard Shaw, Napoleon, comedienne Lucille Ball, chef Julia Child, Fidel Castro, James Baldwin, baseball manager Casey Stengel, Paul Tillich, Eero Saarinen, Mussolini, aviator Amelia Earhart, rocker Mick Jagger, David Baldacci, Annie Oakley, director Cecil B DeMille, sprinter Usain Bolt, and Fritz Freleng.
Sun conjunct Jupiter: Natives with this transit expand their horizons in some way, whether by travel, a new job, gaining a more optimistic outlook, studying philosophy or law, or widening their network of contacts. Sometimes they become the star of the show, maybe it’s on a very private, off-off-off-the-beaten-path stage but it’s theirs.
Venus at 7 degrees Cancer trines Neptune in Pisces at 7:10 am Thursday. This is the classic in-love-with-love aspect. Try to keep your feet on the ground when being charmed by the new beau. You can also tune in to others in a very empathetic way, making them feel that someone really understands them. This is a great transit for expressing yourself in painting, music, poetry, photography, and any other art or craft. Visit a gallery for inspiration!
Mercury at 16 degrees Cancer squares retrograde Uranus in Aries at 8:07 pm Thursday; it immediately trines Saturn in Scorpio at 10:11 pm the same night. Mercury in a water sign is very fast, so when it squares Uranus you can sure expect things to happen in a hurry. Caution: this is an accident-prone transit so be careful driving and watch your head! Your mind may work very fast today, which means you need to check your work the next day. Make notes of your thoughts to think thru later, make a to-do list to stay on track. Nerves can be jittery, so it might be wise to stay off the caffeine; you will definitely NOT need the extra stimulation today. Try to watch yourself for impulsiveness, even rashness; signal before changing lanes, for example.
Mars enters Scorpio, where it is co-ruler, at 10:25 pm Friday. Mars in Scorpio wants control of his environment. Often Scorpios wind up in some type of managerial position, maybe just so they can order their own chair and organize things the way they prefer in their office. Can learn to coax others into talking about their goals by revealing (at least partially) one of their own motives or intentions. Scorpio natives will find this transit lends steel to their goals, turning you into that irresistible force that overturns immovable objects. Could also be vengeful, unless you have transformed into the eagle rather than the scorpion. Your taste may turn towards horror movies and the like. Mars in Scorpio is apt at using sharp tools, whether as a butcher or as a surgeon. Famous people with Mars in Scorpio include: Jean-Paul Sartre, Robert Louis Stevenson, George Washington, Eleanor Roosevelt, Alan Jay Lerner, Jonas Salk, Mohandas Gandhi, and Robert F. Kennedy.
We have a New Moon at 3 degrees 52′ Leo at 6:42 pm Saturday. The Moon conjoined Jupiter three hours earlier, and the Moon’s next aspect is a trine to Uranus at 8:14 pm the following Sunday, July 27. Moon-Jupiter expands the self to embrace the whole world of experience, law, scholarship, travel, and the arts, and the trine to Uranus eases expression of our insights into whatever forms is available to us. We will probably have our eyes opened to other ways of living, and implement new ways of doing things. We may plan a trip to foreign shores, or even get on the boat or plane. We run into people who are very different from ourselves, and we like them a lot!

Your Milky Way Horoscope JULY 13-19, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers– Please visit the website of the National Blood Clot Alliance at StopTheClot.org to learn more about blood clots and when you might need to see a doctor about it.

Mercury enters Cancer at 12:45 am Sunday. (This is the first of three planets changing signs this week.) People with Mercury (as well as the Moon) in Cancer are known for having phenomenal memories. Cancerians with this placement often inject pleas for sympathy in their speech, which can be unwelcome in the office setting – the flip side is that they often take care of their employees or coworkers, soothing ruffled feathers and bringing in treats. Extremely intuitive without knowing how they know. Prefers to quote precedent rather than set new precedents. Good for historians and antique dealers and some fields of academia. Tends to collect things. Famous people with Mercury in Cancer include: Prince Philip, Nelson Rockefeller, Paul Anka, Van Cliburn.
Venus at 23 degrees Gemini trines Mars in Libra at 4:22 am Sunday. A good time to meet and fall in love with your Knight in Shining Armor. With Venus in Gemini, conversation should flow easily with lots of wit and sparkle. Mars in Libra is polite and well-spoken, doing everything right. What’s not to like?
Jupiter enters fiery Leo at 6:30 am Wednesday. Jupiter in a fiery, fixed sign like Leo is prone to develop huge egos to the point where they are unbearable. Yet the basic magnanimous quality of a real Leo has to spill out to everyone within his reach. Wants the best for everyone and is capable of great executive and leadership ability. May be blessed with talent and gain the public eye, and can be quite a showman. Jupiter really does things big in Leo, in a very showy and public way. Famous people with Jupiter in Leo include: Anne Bancroft, Rex Harrison, Alexander the Great, Brigham Young, Richard Wagner, Elizabeth Taylor, Eleanor Roosevelt, J P Morgan, Luther Burbank, and Juan Peron.
Venus enters sympathetic Cancer at 10:06 am Friday. Venus in Cancer is the baker rather than the chef, although a native with this placement may do both. Venus here needs to care for and nourish others; denied the opportunity to feed other people, the native may feed the birds or compulsively overeat. This Cancer’s love is freely given without strings attached, and really needs an emotional outlet for his/her own health. Often has large families and/or large breasts. Famous people with Venus in Cancer include: Judy Garland, Margot Fonteyn, Dean Martin, Igor Stravinsky, Louis Armstrong, Bob Hope, Constantine of Greece, William Styron, and Hubert Humphrey.
Mercury at 7 degrees Cancer trines Neptune in Pisces at 1:37 am Saturday. I know I have said before that Mercury and Neptune really do not go together very well at all! Messages get misunderstood even if they are quite clear. People get lost in transit, or confused about the time or place. On the bright side, we can make words into magic, such as in poetry, spells, self-hypnosis, affirmations.
The Sun at 26 degrees Cancer squares Mars in Libra at 2:32 am Saturday. People with this transit affecting personal signs tend to dig in and never give up. You try to beat them at a board game, pickup basketball, a race or a debate and they will hold on till the finish trying to maintain their position and keep you from passing them. They may not have enough to win, but they will bust a gut trying to keep you from passing them.

Your Milky Way Horoscope June 29-July 5, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers– Please visit the website of the National Blood Clot Alliance at StopTheClot.org to learn more about blood clots and when you might need to see a doctor about it.

The Sun at 7 degrees Cancer trines Neptune in Pisces at 3:23 am Sunday. This is followed by: Venus at 7 degrees Gemini squares Neptune in Pisces at 3:31 pm Sunday. Both transits hitting the same day are probably going to cause lots of confusion and lost objects on the mundane level. I know I had a bit of a tizzy earlier today with trying to locate some items I had misplaced, etc tho I eventually found most of them. Neptune, whether in supposedly good or bad aspects, is just as likely to cause losses or the fear of losses in your personal life.
Mercury is Stationary Direct at 24 degrees Gemini at 8:50 am Tuesday, July 1. Yay! Some of you out there hardly breathe until Mercury goes direct again, so now you can finally exhale. Let’s hope you learned some previously unrevealed details about whatever issues concern you. I know that I have gone through a period of temporary fixes and the long-term solution will go into effect on the day that Mercury just happens to go direct. So I couldn’t hold my breath and refuse to make any decisions. What happened was that I put in the temporary fix, but went for help in finding something else that might save me money and still protect my interests.
The Sun at 12 degrees Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn at 4 am Friday. This is the kind of transit that calls on us to dig deep for inner resources and fortitude to overcome obstacles. And yet, if you are trying to “fight City Hall” you may have to throw in the towel and accept defeat. If this contacts personal planets especially the Sun or Mars, you might truly have to fight for your life. On the positive side, you have the chance to clear the air, get to the bottom of whatever is a stumbling block in a relationship, and start afresh. Since Pluto is also symbolic of transformation, this is also an opportunity to remake yourself, make vital changes in your life now that you see what must be done.

Your Milky Way Horoscope June 22-28, 2014

By Milky Way Maid

Dear Readers– Please visit the website of the National Blood Clot Alliance at StopTheClot.org to learn more about blood clots and when you might need to see a doctor about it.

Venus enters Gemini at 8:34 am Monday. Venus in Gemini is always the flirt, but with ruler Mercury retrograde in Gemini right now, a Twin might make some verbal missteps. Since Venus also rules cash and finances in general, Geminis might also make some errors in writing checks or figuring their personal accounts. Still, Venus in Gemini is famous for its wit and a lighthearted way of communicating. Gemini tends to be superficial in conversation, yet a mature Gemini is able to elevate the discussion to encompass hearing out others’ points of view. Gemini loves to discuss abstract ideas rather than how-to instructions. Famous people with Venus in Gemini include: Ringo Starr, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, William Shakespeare, Mary McCarthy, Benjamin Spock, and Franz Kafka.
Mars at 16 degrees Libra opposes Uranus in Aries at 4:25 am Wednesday. Mars opposite Uranus sounds pretty explosive to me, also pretty bad for purchases of mechanical objects such as cars, lawn mowers, etc. Many of us get ready to just about kick off the harness and run off for the greener pastures they’ve heard legends about. Sudden changes are possible or even probable, even emergency surgery may be in store for some of us. Between this transit and the Moon-Mercury conjunction on Thursday, people will be blurting out everything they have held inside for too long.
We have a New Moon at 5 degrees 37′ Cancer at 4:08 am Friday. It is accompanied by a Moon trine Neptune in Pisces. Neptune has a bad rep, but the trine may help some of us find kindred spirits who hold to the same ideals that you do. New Moons in Cancer tend to put the focus on family issues, family businesses, possibly an addition to the family or house. Your home becomes a focal point, either in terms of renovating, buying and selling, hosting more social events, or housing an exchange student or two.
Ceres and Vesta will be conjunct at 20 degrees Libra this week. These two asteroids have been slowly moving almost in lockstep thru Libra for quite a while, so you may not feel like anything special is happening. Couples may find they need to have some prolonged talks about where the relationship is going, or even seek out couples therapy. A lot of times Vesta will sacrifice their own happiness in a relationship, to the point of even letting the other person leave if they think they will be happier with someone else.

ARIES – March 20-April 19 – The conjunction of Ceres and Vesta in your solar seventh house has extra oomph due to the angular placement; there is some chance you will be cast in a caregiver role, but more often this transit makes you too willing to sacrifice your own needs or break up with someone if the other expresses a wish for more freedom. If you believe that the other person is a good match for you, you will need to fight for this relationship, offer to go into couples therapy if necessary. Venus’ entry into your solar third house can bring more socializing, love notes, and appreciation of beauty in poetry or music.

TAURUS – April 20-May 20 – The Moon is in Taurus from Sunday till Tuesday morning. Midday Sunday favors a pleasant swim among friends, or perhaps volunteering at a fund-raising event. Monday morning may be hard to face because you just see the piles of work to be done, but you can do it. Monday night is a carefree night on the town. Venus’ entry into your solar second house can bring in some cash or small prizes, so use it wisely. Best day may be Tuesday when a Moon-Venus conjunction on the cusp of your second house helps you find someone to trade favors with.

GEMINI – May 21-June 20 – The Moon is in Gemini from 7:06 am Tuesday till Thursday evening. Geminis get lots of promises of help Tuesday morning. Tuesday night might be filled with worries and anxious moments so do those little tricks you have to calm the butterflies. Wednesday afternoon may hold some high-spirited games with friends, but try not to get carried away with those tackles. Thursday morn starts off with a lot of chatter and calls right away. A gift to my lovely readers —

As a special gift to my readers I thought you might enjoy some background music. Five songs in cool condition. So turn up the volume alright already.
